Alan Pardew Given Two Match Touchline Ban – Fined £20K

News coming through that Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has been given a two-match touchline ban and fined £20K for improper conduct during Newcastle’s win over Tottenham in the first game of the season.

Alan Pardew pushing assistant – naughty boy

The Football Association put this up on their web-site a short time ago:

Following an Independent Regulatory Commission held today [Monday 3 September 2012], Newcastle United manager Alan Pardew has been given a two match touchline suspension and fined £20,000 after he accepted an FA charge of improper conduct.

Pardew, who requested a personal hearing, was charged following an incident which occurred during his side’s match against Tottenham Hotspur on 18 August 2012.

The suspension will take place with immediate effect.

Alan was sent to the stands for pushing assistant referee Peter Kirkup during the Tottenham game back on August 18th, and he immdiately apologized after the game, and accepted the charge.

This will not particularly help Newcastle in our next couple of games, but he had to be given some punishment after pushing the linesman – Peter Kirkup.

Here’s the video of it:

    repost
after the way this weekend has been for us not only with transfers but also the result i think the international break has came just when we need it during this international break pardew should watch dvds of both A how much better we did using a 4-3-3 also he needs to learn that subs are meant to be useds when things arn’t looking good so noway should he be bring on 2 subs when it is almost full time.
finally start dropping and rotating players more often with games otherwise you end up with players who do as good as rooney does for england (rubbish).

83….Agreed. Pardew has to date not shown he is out of depth, so there is no real reason at this point to think he has taken us as far as he can.

I agree on the bit about our formations, as many do on here. I also think Jonas is wasted at LW.

Apart from that, transfers are not down to Pardew, what are people expecting him to do that will actually make a difference?

If Pardew left us, who on earth do you guys think would replace him?

Because I can guarantee that it’ll be a lot worse than when Puppet Pardew got appointed!

    TDS
he might have played 4-3-1-2 but it was still played in a way where we do hoof ball and cabaye bigi and jonas were all playing as CDM.
so even having 3 attackers is not better if you use 3 CDM the 4-3-3 we liked was 4-1-2-1-2 or if it’s teams like chelsea 4-2-1-2-1. but not 4-3-3 lineups which have 3 CDMs or 4-4-2.

I can’t even fathom just how long it would take me to pay a £20,000 fine. I imagine a very, very long time. There is a whole lot of money in football.

Has anyone on here actually agreed fully with the article in saying that Pardew is out of his depth? I think even the article talks about how we will see so its more of a question rather than a statement.

Would have been delighted with 4 points from the opening 3 games just thought it would be a win against Villa instead of Spurs

Think the international break has came at the right time as it will allow us to rest some players and maybe Cabaye can do well for France which will kick him into gear when he comes back would actually love it if Senegal beat Ivory Coast as it would make the Dembas confidence go through the roof as a pounding could make them play worse than they already are!

If they qualified for the ACON it would be a loss but i think we could cope as we would probably get a striker and its about time Arfa played in a free role just behind the striker anyway

This 2 game suspension could also be good for Pardew as top managers like Alex Ferguson and Walter Smith have said when they have been suspended before they have looked at the game from a different perspective maybe Pardew will maybe see 442 no longer works and change to 443?heres hoping

why is it that he didn’t bring on a sub around the 60th minute when he could see most players were below par.

if it is the formation TDS said we played a 4-3-1-2 yesteday. maybe we did play a 4-3-1-2 but in the team he seemed to have cabaye, bigi and jonas all used in a more CDM. surely for games like villaH you should only need 1 CDM and not 3
if it is the subs you can’t follow
what i was saying there is ATM pardew seems to not be bring subs on at the right time. he said yesterday “we played below par”. well if that is the case why does he wait until the 85th minute before bring a sub on when he could have taken one of the dembas off in the 60th minute and brought obatan on.

toonking…..thanks for clarifying that, thought you were trying to say people who thought Pardew was doing a good job (i.e. not our of his depth) shouldn’t complain about squad depth.

On use of subs, I didn’t see the game, but his comments are odd if he didn’t try and change things until the 85th minute. Can’t really say much on it tbh.

The results we have got dont bother me at all, its the poor performances and stubborn refusal to stick with the formation that isnt working that annoy me.

Things could be worse obviously, could be bottom with no points. I mean, we beat Spurs which was good.

But this is our chance to push for 4th spot, to do that we need to take every opportunity that presents itself and that includes not dropping points at home to crap sides just because the manager insisits on playing the wrong formation and players for the first half of every match. If we had been 4-2-3-1 or 4-3-3 the entire match we would have won it, no question.

You say its only 3 games in, but if he doesnt change and keeps going like this then we will be out of the running for 4th spot by Xmas.

Hopefully he will see how crap 4-4-2 is while he is sitting in the stands for the next few games.

He’s a good manager, we have good players, lets not waste all the hard work thats gone into the last 2 or 3 seasons now.

I like Bills son idea of 3511. Tbh I think I’d welcome anything 451, 433, 4231 but this stifling and useless 442 that is wasting the talented players we have.

An excellent article this guy has written. He dares to suggest that maybe we did well last season in spite of Pardew not because of him.

After all it was Carr who assembled our amazing collection of players who are being systematically choked to death in this ridiculous 442 where we are accommodating Ba’s ego in a central position.

Pardew must change back to 433 or risk falling so far behind, this season will be a write off before it’s begun. History shows that ironically like Roeder, Pardew has a good season followed by a very poor one. Not sure he has it in him to buck this trend.

With our players we should be watching thrilling and exciting football and be dominating teams much more not just scraping by thanks to Benny’s moments of magic. We know what works and clearly what doesn’t.

Rotonda….When you say “history shows” is that based on Pardews time at other clubs? Is he normally a one season wonder?

People seem to forget (or brush aside the fact) that we played 4-4-2 for the majority of games last season (at least according to a statistics site I saw last week), so whilst other formations might look better, it doesn’t completely write of the 4-4-2 as some would like to think.

Please don’t think this is me saying we should be playing 4-4-2, as I have pointed out several times, I too would like to see us take more control of games, like we have seen in other formations.

One bad game where Cabs has clearly been tapped up and he’s no good. WTF!!

Suggest you look at a re-run of all his assists last season when payed correctly in a 433, not to mention a few cracking goals.

I can’t believe these clowns who say sell cabs and Cisse. We’ve played 3 games! We’ve got the players, now the manager has to get it right too.

In fairness I think a lot of people recognised we scraped through a lot of games last season with 442 and enjoyed a good slice of lady luck. It is only when we played 433 we went on that 18 point 6 match winning run. Then strangely for the last 4 matches when we were in pole position for CL reverted to 442 and lost 3 out of the last 4 games.
