Josh Bone on Tuesday was supposed to get the Ferry across to France at 10:30am, but it was unexpectedly delayed until 11:30pm – and that meant it was impossible for Josh to get much running in on Tuesday, although he still did 19 miles, and he arrived at 4:00am Wednesday morning across the English Channel.
Josh Bone in France – early Wednesday morning
Josh got only four hours of sleep on Tuesday night, but that didn’t stop him completing a full marathon today Wednesday – a phenomenal effort from the 21 year-old life-time Newcastle supporter.
Josh was also able to get a 19 mile run in on Tuesday, although the plan was to do some more running in France, which of course he couldn’t do because of the ferry rescheduling.
So Josh is still on track and intends to make up the 7 miles with additional running during the last three days of his tough journey to Paris.
Josh is on schedule to arrive at the Arc de Triomphe in Paris on Saturday, September 8th.
He is running the marathons in honor of his father Ron, who died last year of cancer, and Josh will be raising funds to support two major Cancer Charities, Cancer Research UK and Dorothy House Hospice, and he hopes to raise £10K – and he is about half way there right now.
Please donate to Josh’s cause here if you possibly can – and you can also donate by text – text LTOP90 and the amount to 70070.
You can follow Josh’s progress on his blog every day during his brave efforts for charity.
