It’s The Calm Before The Storm For Newcastle

Newcastle are in the midst of having a fifteen day break between Premier League games because of the International break, when World Cup qualifying and African Cup of Nations qualifying games will be taking place.

Newcastle will travel to Everton a week on Monday, then face CS Maritimo on the following Thursday in the Europa League,  Norwich City on the following Sunday, and then Manchester United in the League Cup on the following Thursday, and then we’re at Reading in the Premier League the Sunday after that.

In total Newcastle will play 7 games in a short 20 days once we get under way again, and that’s after we started with 5 games in just 15 days at the beginning of the season, and as we’ve found out, all these games tends to take a toll on the squad.

And currently we have Ryan Taylor, Danny Simpson, Checik Tiote and Fab Coloccini all injured since the season started a short 20 days ago.

Here’s the schedule for Newcastle through October 7th in three different competitions:

Mon 17	20:00	A Everton - Premier
Thur 20 20:00	A CS Maritimo - Europa League
Sun 23	15:00	H Norwich City - Premier
Thur 26 19:45 A Manchester United - Capital One Cup
Sun 30	15:00	A Reading - Premier
Thur 4 20:05 H Bordeaux - Europa League
Sun 07	16:00	H Manchester United - Premier

With experienced players in short supply at Newcastle,  we’ll have to rely on the youngsters, and if they can come through for Newcastle, we should still be in decent shape.

We hope. 😀

Did we qualify for Europe? Cor, that was lucky seeing as we have a clueless manager, an owner with no ambition and a squad with players like Simmo, Willo, Perch and Obertan. Did we use our transfer fund to pay someone off? Oh wait, transfer money was spent on buying a share in Rangers – I really should keep up.

Keep the faith lads, we are more than capable.

You know you’re a playing with fire there don’t you 😉 soon you’ll have someone breathing down you’re neck calling you a tool, a muppet, a bully and what else 😉

An outburst in plenum: someone send the OV bus to come pick up Ibiza…he’s hit the buttom and can’t get up 😉 lol

Honestly think we should just write off the league cup and hell even the fa cup if we are still in the europa league.

How can it be a curse? If you are saying it’s a curse because we will be playing our first teamers in the Europa which may effect our position in league and/or may cause injuries to our first team players…then we can always just play more youngsters and get them valuable experience. A very good learning mechanics for the youngsters in a more competitive environment then the reserves.

Jesper….I don’t think traveling on a bus is a great idea tbh and in case you missed it, I am not a joke along with the rest of those charming characteristics.

“Got to admit it’s getting better, it’s getting better all the time.”

Rainrix….I’d say we should play the kids in it, but that’s what we’re doing for the EL and PL, right? Maybe we can play the under 10’s in the domestic cups?

Ibiza… Just send carr roaming around europe looking for street children and then catch them with a net. Then play them in the league and fa cup. Its fair to say we’ll pick up a few ‘unknowns’ and we can keep our euro squad fresh 🙂

Ridiculous schedule for an under strength squad all brought about by a tight a***d owner.
Wonder if he’s still as smug about his financial “success” in the window as he was a week ago?
    There again does he care?
Another season of hanging on in there with the bare minimum of player investment, whilst displaying his company to the world (for nowt) answers that question.

As I am not a clueless manager and listen to my fans, I have made the necessary changes to my side.

    Perch perch perch perch
    Tiote tiote tiote tiote
    Ben Arfa Heskey.

Premier league, Europa league, capital one cup and FA cup winners.

Disclaimer . I don’t think Pardew is a clueless manger and those who do are doofuses. Yeah doofuses.

Its plain to see we will finish nowhere NEAR last year success.

As predicted by many “negative” bloggers here the poor transfer window has caught us on our second game. We might as well not be in Europe to be honest, waste of energy we wont win it.

I fee sorry for Pardew now, but he is a manager he needs to try and damage limit now. PPl had the time to figure this Ashley out by now. I was in favour of him after seeing his Cisse signings. Now its obvious to see that 10 million spent on a sinking ship that is Rangers is a foul way to show that Newcastle are indeed a milking cow.

More than ever if you look carefully this window was ow so crucial as it would determine if we are to challenge for higher places. SOmebody mentioned no need for wingers we have many. Not true… Jonas is not the Jonas of before. We dont know Marveaux at all well, Pardew is not playing him. ANything should happen to HBA its tickets….its NUFC at 442 for the remainder.

OUr defense is probably at its weakest now than it was in 4 years….( Colo injured, simmo injured, no backup)

Yes we are seeing Willo and Simmo this year wich all due respect I hope not to see in the first team roster….

its just strange I was not asking for much…Debauchery was not 12 million, Douglas or any quality CB was not 12 million. it was ow so doable. We are not after Hazard. We are very realistic fans we got nothing….

Gorgonzola @ 14 – as one of the ‘negative bloggers’ on here (or so I’ve been told) your post is so depressing but sums it all up.
I really REALLY wanted this season to be exciting, special and successful with a little bit of sensible spending but got to admit I’m finding it hard to be optimistic at the moment.

Spanish Prince made a good point yesterday about youth players wanting to play first team football using a Man U player as reference. The fact we offloaded a lot of our youth team has mean that the u18 are now closer to playing at reserve team level.

Players like Lubo Satka (only 16) are playing lots of games at reserve team level and we are seeing the emergence of Adam Campbell. With a smaller squad and keeping only the best of the best youth and recruiting those at a good level (Bigi) we are building an excellent youth set up. This should see a conveyor belt of 1 or 2 coming through each season.

However, we need to get players out on loan. We need players staring in the Championship this season (like Tav did but in league 1). Then next season they come back and challenge for 1st team.

Players who could be sent out on loan
Tav (keep until injuries clear up)
    Street (when fit)
Ranger (get him out the club)
Xisco (someone help pay part of wages)

But as Ed points out we have a lot of games coming up so some of the above will get games at 1st team level.

agree with pardew about setplays in ed’s previous thread.

cabaye corners couldn’t go past the first man. was rubbish in Spurs and also against Villa. he should just stand far away from taking corners for now. its horrendous. his performance as well as his set piece deliveries.

My posts on here recently have been few for that very reason! My feelings about where we are at the moment sound to be exactly the same as yours.

I often think that there are Closet Mackems on here winding us up! It is a feasible possibility! Until the standard of banter improves, i will remain just a passive observer and still read the Blog!
Ther might be an occassional post from me if i think its worth it, but some of the crap on here recently has been driving me up the wall!

So, to sum it up: I totally agree with you comments!
