At the end of his press conference yesterday morning, Alan Pardew was asked how Vurnon Anita was doing, and what his girlfriend had – so to speak.
Vurnon Anita in action on Monday night – before becoming a father
Vurnon had to leave the training camp in Madeira when his girlfriend had gone into labor with their first child, and it seems there has been a happy outcome, with Vurnon is now the proud father of a baby girl.
And of course Vurnon’s life will now change in a big big way, as all those parents out there will fully appreciate. 😀
This is what Alan said yesterday:
“Vurnon has had a little girl and he’s got a smile on his face and his life is about to change in a very different way, and some of the other lads can point him in that way with late nights and the wife’s demands.”
That’s great news, and we wish the new parents and the baby all the best, and we do expect Vurnon to play today, probably in defensive midfield with James Perch at right back.
And of course two of Newcastle’s most versatile players can also switch those positions, which they did int he second half against Everton, and both did very well in those last 45 minutes, and it was a terrific point the lads took out of Goodison Park on Monday night.
Now we need to get all 3 points this afternoon against Norwich City – to keep the momentum going.
Howay The Lads!!
