    hba, hands down

  • 2 Burni // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:11 PM

Has to Ben arfa, as it has been every game this season.

  • 3 Dannyo // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:14 PM

    @catchy
We controlled the game, we had the most possession, did the most passes, completed most passes, created more chances, Cabaye created the most chances, Willo was the best in the air today, winning 11 duels, Jonas 92% pass percentage, the list goes on.
We beat them in all areas today.

It was a game where we lack top guns like Tiote (from start), Collo, Krul, and Simmo is actually our best RB atm imo.
We controlled it, it wasn’t pretty, but there was little today left to chance.

motm benny who again was the only midfielder that really give the forwards service the rest were hoofing it.

  • 5 toonking // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:15 PM

    repost
well was quite boring again today we scored the goal then second half start become less of a threat but win is the most important thing and just a shame it was 1-0.
all i can think of is it come down to either cisse low on confidence or pardew is too worried with them defeats last year occuring again so makes cabaye and HBA do more defending

  • 6 toonking // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:17 PM

dannyo do you think that because we were missing tiote and still will be missing simmo and possibly colo that pardew is wanting the team to defend more than attack.

  • 7 papattack // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:17 PM

has to be harper, i know benny set up the goal and played brilliantly. but harper made some vital saves and his throwing was excellent.

obertan is shit, im sorry but he has to go. why did he shoot from that angle when ba would have had a tap in if he squared it. HEADLESS CHICKEN!

  • 8 G-Star // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:19 PM

What’s going on with Cisse…you would think he was the one in a contract dispute from the way he’s playing. Do you think he has a twin he’s sent back whilst he extends the summer break ;-)

  • 9 Slank // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:20 PM

    Ben Arfa MOTM.

Full marks to Harper, yet another goalie keeping us in yet another game. Also full marks to Perch who yet again demonstrated his 100% commitment and versatility. Zero marks to Tiote. Stupid.

Regretably, Cisse needs a rest. His confidence is rock bottom. Need to play 4-5-1 or 4-2-3-1 with Ba upfront.

  • 10 Grafton83 // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:20 PM

So tempted to vote Tiote but like someone said on previous post he didn’t quite manage to foul all 11 of their players so I’m going for HBA again, only caught the second half though.

  • 11 Grafton83 // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:21 PM

Cisse scored a great header in the last round of internationals, he’s not forgotten how it’s just taking a while for him to get going this season.

  • 12 arroeben // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:22 PM

Harper made vital saves if not for him we wouldnt have gotten 3 points.

  • 13 santonthenewmaldini // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:22 PM

Right this myth about Santon not being able to defend is a lot of shite !!He does not need Jonas to baby sit him anymore in fact he is suffering because Jonas offers nothing ahead of him!!Jonas does not really offer much at all now he would be better coming on as a sub at the end to close games off!!

Santon and Arfa have been our best players this season we got out of jail but if we had scored that penalty before half time i think we would have went on to win 3 or 4 nil

As much as it was a disjointed performance we created a lot of chances for Ba and Cisse and caused them a bit of trouble at set plays so we are getting there!!

God knows what Tiote was thinking with his silly antics when he came on could have been sent off easily!!

People can moan all they want but it was a lucky 1 nil victory against Norwich last season which started that brilliant winning streak we went on

Oh and guess what??4 points ahead of Sunderland and 6 ahead of Liverpool!!!And people say we are in trouble!!?!?

  • 14 arroeben // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:25 PM

Anyone has any idea why cisse isn’t as sharp as last season? Awfully terrible finishing.

  • 15 jimiley // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:28 PM

Jonas is an absolute rock. He never stops running. He should be in the UK team for the marathon. Any team would be happy to have him in the side.

  • 16 jasper // Sep 23, 2012 at 5:57 PM

Didn’t vote HBA because his tracking back was poor. He never looks behind him to see where the FB is and left us at risk as he did against Spurs.
Harper did v well. Santon was great going forward and defending. Anita looked both a better MF And RB than Perchino. ST and Willo put in solid performances and looked more threatening at set pieces than previously. Cabaye was doing his best to drive things but frustrated by lack of MFs in front of him to link with and Cisse’s ineffectiveness as an outlet. Jonas put in another strong defensive effort and linked well with Santon. Ba looks up for it but Cisse……? He should be in the midweek side until he finds his confidence again.
Shola won more balls in the air in his cameo than Ba and Cisse all game. As for Tiote, he came on and behaved like a parody of himself, spin turns and dribbles across his own area, lost the ball dangerously, ludicrous aggression leading to a well deserved booking, indeed he could have had two. Needs taking in hand.

Williamson was great today. I am not his biggest fan by any means but credit where it’s due he was faultless today. Perch very good too. The team wanted papiss to get goal and it would have been the perfect day, but it backfired. Shame as had he scored we would have run riot second half I think. Cisse will come good. Over the season it evens out, but he will score goals.

  • 18 PapissSmurf // Sep 23, 2012 at 6:17 PM

I went for Santon as put a good shift in going forward and defending. End-ball is still a little suspect tho. Harper was immense.

  • 19 matias // Sep 23, 2012 at 6:43 PM

    1. Perch 2. HBA 3. Willimson 4. Harper 5. Santon

Nice to be able to give credit for some these players who aren`t considered our star players.

Anita is starting to show some weakness but he is young is trying to gain experience and adapting to this environment.

Glad that AP saw something wasn’t too right leaving Anita in the middle. And swoop him to RB.

Perch at the moment was the best person to slot into the Middle.

And Anita play much better at RB. (In terms of attacking for today match)

  • 21 davis_toons // Sep 23, 2012 at 7:07 PM

Taylor (S) and Williamson did well today. If such was the performance then will the Captain (Colo) get his place back…

..Of course is was against a weaker Norwich side.

  • 22 doggermin // Sep 23, 2012 at 7:14 PM

    @G-Star

Funny enough i was just saying that this afternoon i swear this cisse’s taller lol

  • 23 Magpie from Lithuania // Sep 23, 2012 at 8:13 PM

    I would like to see this formation against reading;

    —————————–Harper—————————-

    ————-Saylor———Colo——–Santon—–

    ———————-Perch———Tiote————–

    ———-Anita————-Cabaye————–Jonas

    ——————————-Benny———————

    ——————-Ba———————Cisse——-

i think, that would be a great expirement. With players we have, we could play this formation nicely.

I know it will be 4-3-1-2 tho.

    —————————Harper————————

    Perch———Saylor———–Colo———Santon

    ———–Cabaye——Tiote——-Anita(Jonas)—

    —————————–Benny———————–

    —————–Ba———————–Cisse———-

  • 25 siqkicks // Sep 23, 2012 at 11:43 PM

I think papa cisse just needs some rest. play ba and shola against manu. Not too concern about it, strikers go on a drought and it’s not a big deal. Cisse i believe have started all the games so far this season maybe missing 1 or 2. I’d rest him against man u and play him against reading. Ba went through it the 2nd season and came back this season banging. Good side of things is that when Ba wasn’t scoring cisse was and now vice versa. just hopes this doesnt become a trend. Think the last time both got of the score sheet was against aston villa.
Anybody knows when is krul and collosus coming back?
What’s with tiote?Literally went mad the moment he came on.
