Bad news this morning that Yohan Cabaye will join Fabricio Coloccini on the sidelines today, and he will not be in the first team at the Madejski Stadium this afternoon against Reading.
Yohan Cabaye – out of the Reading game
This is what manager Alan Pardew said today:
“We have injury problems tomorrow.” “No Cabaye. No Coloccini. Cabaye has an infection in his mouth after having his wisdom teeth out, that means he can’t play.”
“Colo’s hamstring looks like it could keep him out for the week, which is a blow because we have some important games this week. So that is a worry.”
That’s a weird reason for not playing a game of football, when you pick up an infection after being to the dentist.
That’s definitely a blow to Newcastle, and we suppose Vurnon Anita can play in attacking midfield with Cheick Tiote and James Tavernier can come in at right back, after his excellent display on Wednesday night at Old Trafford.
So this could be the team this afternoon:
Harper
Tavernier Taylor (S) Williamson Santon
Ben Arfa Anita Tiote Gutierrez (c)
Ba Cisse
You don’t expect players who didn’t play in mid-week to not be available for the weekend game, so this is a bit of a shock and certainly some bad luck for Newcastle.

dont get me wrong here, but the only weak link is jonas guti,, i think tav will do a great job skipping past HBA gien him more options, but guti is dropping to deep,, id like fergi in on the left,,
as i see it pardew is way to cautious and seems to settle for a draw from kick off , hoping we nick a goal,, i say against team that will be at the wrong end of the table,, go at them, attack attack attack, see where we are after 70 mins then if need be close the game out,,

Jonas is one of the biggest contributers in our team, no one works harder than him over the 90mins

@catchy i don’t think pardew ever settles for a draw from kick-off. just we have some very defensive players.
i want fergy to get 30 mins

Getting you wisdom teeth our can cause major problems and the process can actually knock you sideways for a few days, a friend of mine was off work for a week, he said it was like being poisoned.
Mind getting wisdom teeth fitted is worse………LOL.

More than strange how any one can be worried about Joanas just because he has a different role sitting deeper and less attacking than when he arrived at the toon does not reduce his contribution.
In my view he has been one the most reliable and impressive players over the last few years and ran himself into the round against Norwich as he will today and next week too
Don’t worry about spider man he will be on of our best again today

Perch will play today
13 LEROI // Sep 29, 2012 at 12:04 PM
it will be perch at rb and tav on the bench, but even if perch is poor or gets hurt Pards may decide to switch anita to rb and play marv in the acm role or bring on bigi if he feels our midfield needs more steele and hustle. I hope tav gets in at rb but it’s still early days & i can see him playing 90mins on thursday instead.
