Demba Ba Explains That Accidental Hand-Ball – Video

Here is Demba Ba explaining that second goal against Reading on Saturday, and admitting the ball hit his hand and went in.

Demba seems such a straight forward and good guy, it would be terrible if we lose this player in January.

Ba should stop talking about it and move on. Fifa could end up docking us 1 point. Whos knows

RonVan…I think if they can do something, they will. Not like one more Ba interview would make much difference (and as pointed out by tads, it’s not a new Ba interview – So, cut it out Ed – you’re alerting the officials!).

It’s an odd one. If I was a fan of say Reading, I would feel robbed. I don’t know the rules, but it was unintentional (which it appeared to be) and wasn’t called by the ref, so would seem fair enough. But then, I suppose I would think that in this particular instance.

Its a refereeing decision thats been allowed to stand and they can only take retrospective action if an offical hasnt seen something and hasn’t acted by allowing the goal he’s made a decision
Having said that i dont think the F.A or fifa can just add or take away goals ir there would be no need for goal line technology!!!

No way the goal can be rescinded, its in stone now.

    By the power of Baaaa!!!!

I don’t think even Demba could think quickly enough in the time it scraped his head to when it got to his hand to palm it in. Its all right showing it in slo-mo but its damn quick in real life.

Well done on him for admitting it. Fifa/fa won’t do anything. Ref did seem to have a decent view of it mind!

Ah, those dreaded words, ‘goal line technology’. Saturday’s goal would’ve of course stood even with that. Goal line technology is like trying to stop a flood with a single sand bag. Goal line controversies are extremely rare, given the very few instances in the thousands of games played every week. What we need is video technology, what they’ve had in the USA for decades. Two optional challenges per game, per team, so you have to pick your moments, don’t use them up on stupid throw-ins. The ref has half a minute to review video footage and make a decision. If it’s inconclusive, he stands by his original call.
What if there are no cameras? (rare these days in major divisions) Well, in those games, what we do now stands.
