Vurnon Anita three weeks ago became a father for the first time, but mother and baby are still in Holland, but they will be moving to Newcastle shortly to be with Vurnon, and then of course he’ll not get too much sleep at nights at all.

And the news today in the Sunday Sun, where Vurnon has been interviewed, is that the Dutchman is bulking up in the gym after training sessions, in order that he can better handle himself in the very physical world of the Premier League.
Baby daughter Kalle and girlfriend Diane are still in Amsterdam, and Vurnon has made many trips over by plane, which is very short flight, so the Dutch International is a busy man at the moment.
This is what Vurnon told the Sunday Sun today:
“Being a new dad is crazy and not so easy right now.” “Things are a bit different because I live in Newcastle and my family are in Amsterdam, but it is great, if hectic.” “There has been an awful lot happening at the same time.”
“Diane and the baby will come over to Newcastle soon and then there will be no sleeping for me.” “I will not forget these last two months for a while, that is for sure.” “I have been going back to see them in Amsterdam as much as I can, but it will be a lot better when we are all together.”
“Life is pretty busy right now, but that is good because all the things which have happened are happy moments.”
Good words form Vurnon there.
We think Anita can become a very good player for Newcastle, but of course like anybody else, he needs time to adjust to the rigors and physical demands of the Premier League.
His height is not a problem since we’ve had many top players not too tall, including Paul Scholes at just 5’7″, and he hasn’t done too badly in the Premier League.
It’s certainly a busy time at the moment for the Dutchman, but his willingness to stay behind after training to do extra work is an indication that the lad is determined to be a big success at Newcastle.
We think he’ll be just that.
