Alan Pardew is pleased with the preparation of his Newcastle squad this week, and he thinks they’ve done a pretty thorough job of preparing the players for Sunderland, in a game that kicks off at 1:30pm this afternoon.
Alan Pardew – pleased with the preparation this week
Alan Pardew is convinced he has his team fully ready for the battle today, as he had this to say in today’s Sunday Sun:
“It’s very much about the preparation of the team. I have been really pleased with the work we have done on the training ground. I would hope to have all the bases covered and then I’ll look forward to my meal on Saturday night as I normally do.”
“I don’t get nervous, if I’m honest. After the game there may be a period of wondering what the ramifications will be, if we were to lose. But then that wouldn’t last long either. You have to prepare yourself very quickly.”
If Newcastle get beat today we have to think Alan will be just a little nervous – because the ramifications will be terrible – and we’d be devastated.
But enough of this negative talk – there’s no reason why our lads cannot put in a good show today and take all three points, and all we need is for most of our top stars like Demba Ba, Papiss Cisse, Yohan Cabaye and Fab Coloccini as just four examples – to be on form and that should do it.
Howay The Lads!!

Comment #1Does anyone feel a touch of sympathy for the unwashed – they have a chronic record against us both home and away. Its years since they managed a win against us – even at the dark place??
It could be causing them major mental anguish and trauma!!
No? Nah, thought not, me neither lol

Comment #3At least it’s a nice day so I should be OK hibernating under my pile of leaves in the garden until it’s all over. I DREAD derbies -may have something to do with having a Mackem wife who supports the Toon to humour me but still has (understandably) a sneaky liking for Blunderland, not to mention a mother-in-law from Wearside – no mixed loyalties there!

Comment #9We have the players to give any team in the league a game, however this season so far we have been poor. I would love to see Pardew play the team below, however it aint ever gonna happen.
Krul
Santon Saylor Collo Jonas
Tiote Bigi/Anita
Cabaye Ben Arfa Sammy
Ba/Cisse
4231 all the way for me, its when we have played our best, plus Sunderland will play their own shitty brand of 442 so we can win the midfield battle and see if Benny, Sammi, Ba and Cabs can become creative, instead of defensive.

Comment #11So Pardew want Benny to score today (and score more often) 🙂 I play in a 442 formation and in the same position as Benny and I know how difficult it is to score from that position if you are not an setpiece expert 🙂
…mind you we don’t create enough chances as it is wo warrant two forwards. Want Bennt to score more often and Cabaye set up more goals change the formation.
We have had the same discussion where I play (of course it is nowhere near this level ;-)) lol

Comment #13Always a little edgy on Derby day but I’m pretty confident that we can kick their butts. I just hope we hit the ground runninig right from the off. Lets torture them in their own back yard. HWTL

Comment #19Concerned about Atkinson sending Cheick off, he just loves sending folk off and spoiling the game. Fingers crossed he is not a dick.
Also would be good for cheick to get through the first 10 minutes without a booking, highly unlikely mind you.
