There’s some good news today in the Evening Chronicle, that 23 year-old French international midfielder Moussa Sissoko has been in touch with Yohan Cabaye at Newcastle, asking him what it’s like playing at Newcastle United, and Yohan gave his fellow French International a glowing report.
Moussa Sissoko in action for France in Japan recently
Sissoko’s contract at Toulouse runs out next summer, and although there has been no official contact from Newcastle for the player, Newcastle are interested in picking up a top player next summer on a free transfer.
The 23-year-old has no intention of remaining in French football, and it seems he would like to try his luck in the English Premier League.
Fulham, Liverpool, Everton and Tottenham Hotspur are also said to be interested in the player, but the Evening Chronicle is reporting the French International has been buoyed by reported interest from Newcastle, and has been checking things out with Yohan Cabaye.
A source close to Sissoko told the Evening Chronicle today:
“Moussa has had a chat with Yohan about the Premier League and what it’s like at Newcastle.” “Yohan loves it at St James’ Park, so understandably he gave him a glowing report.” “They are both good friends so Moussa values what Yohan had to say.”
The news yesterday is that a deal has already been agreed between Newcastle and the player, but of course clubs are not allowed to speak to the player until January, and it’s not surprising the comment made by Alan Pardew to the news of Newcastle’s interest yesterday was – “It’s news to me.”
Alan’s no fool. 😀
Sissoko has been watched By Graham Carr and his scouting team for over a year, and it seems Graham is recommending that Newcastle sign the player, so the news of yesterday could even be true – heaven forbid!
As we reported yesterday Sissoko has been at Toulouse since 2003, and he has been linked with Newcastle United for about a year and a half now.
He is an established and rated member of the France national side, and he’s a very good player, and it would be great to have another full French International at St. James’ Park.
We think the report of yesterday could even be true – given this good news today.
What do you think?

Comment #3I can see this happening, I really can, fits the blueprint perfectly.
Of course Pardew is going to play it down, all managers worth their salt do the same..
Alan is no Arry redknapp, unsettling players at every turn….
I think this is a done deal!

Apart from dannyo did any one who posted actually read the article or just read the headline?
At what point did pardew say the players were tired from playing on a thursday? Simple he didnt he’s saying the club are struggling to fit in with training with two different styles of tactics for upcoming games!

Comment #8Mark my words lads, Sissoko is a QUALITY player!!! I spend a lot of time working in France and have seen and heard plenty about this lad. Should he sign, he will well an truly take us to the next level. Even the great Zidane speaks very highly of him of potential to be one of the best in a France shirt.
He is strong, composed, skilful and dictates play with apparent ease. He is great in the tackle and positionally superb. I would risk a backlash here…but I would state that he has more refined attributes than Mr T and is only 23. Along with a better diciplinary record.
I hope Cheik stays with us, but either way, bringing this lad in would be a hell of a coup!!!
Truly a MASSIVE signing!!

Tiote is always an accident waiting to happen. I never feel comfortable when he is playing as he tries to overdo things and gets caught on the ball far too often.
When he is ‘on song’ (ie breaking up play with tackles and interceptions) he’s greatly effective but he always seems to be one mad moment from disaster. Unfortunately he has also gained a reputation in this country, as we saw in the derby match, which, rightly or wrongly, will not help his game.

Comment #12Sorry but I’m more realistic this lad would be going to arsenal or spurs. And if he free the loads of better teams will try nd snap him up.

Comment #14Sign Sissokho for free and sell Tiote in January for £25m. Accommodate Abeid into the side. Use the money to sign these players in January:
Boudebouz
Aldereweild
Remy
Debuchy

Comment #15With players like Ben Arfa, Cabaye, Abeid, Ba and Cisse, we should be attracting players like Sissokho.

was thinking same too… tiote’s disciplinary could be seen as issue by club and think pardew is getting tired of it. i could obviously be very wrong and this is just my opinion but would not be suprised to see club cash in on tiote sometime soon although clubs like chelsea / man utd would likely be put off by the number of cards he gets and fergie does not buy players who play in ACON very often (if ever)
