Magpies Target – Newcastle Are A Fantastic Team

It’s always nice to hear a potential target of Newcastle’s talk in such glowing terms about our club, and that’s exactly what Toulouse midfielder Moussa Sissoko has done today, after there was news a few days ago that Newcastle may have already wrapped up a deal for the 6’2″ box to box midfielder, who has been compared to Patrick Vieira, the former Arsenal and France player.

Moussa Sissoko – Newcastle are a fantastic team

The 5 times capped French international is due to become a free agent next summer, when his contract runs out at the only club he’s ever played for, and Newcastle may try to bring him to Tyneside in January for a nominal fee.

Graham Carr and the Newcastle scouts have watched Sissoko on a number of occasions over the last couple of years, and it could be that a deal to bring the Frenchmen  has already been struck between Newcastle and Toulouse.

Certainly Moussa seems pleased with the recent links to the Premier League and in particular with the reports saying the Newcastle are interested in the player:

“To play in the Premier League would be a dream come true.” “It is a fantastic league and I enjoy watching it. Newcastle are a fantastic team and would be attractive to any player. I am no different.”

The name of Newcastle over the last couple of seasons has skyrocketed in Europe and especially in France, where Newcastle get a lot of their players from.

And according to Graham Carr, Newcastle is thought to be one of the best clubs in England,  giving our links over the years to the many great French players who have worn the famous black and white striped shirts.

We really hope that Moussa Sissoko is the next one to land on Tyneside – he’s an excellent player.

i like anita. I think he’d excel in the position we bought him for IF HE WAS ACTUALLY PLAYED THERE.

Don’t get me wrong, I’d love to have him here, sissokho, but one has to wonder as to the strategy behind our transfer dealings….Anita’s versatility has been down to which side of the bench he wants to sit on. We’ve needed a CB for the better part of 5 years. Pards has been doing a stand-up job at putting Ba in the shop window so there’s that issue that will inevitably need addressing but we’ll probably buy a FB finally, disregard the need for a striker and be told the much vaunted arrival of a proper CB will come 100% without doubt in the summer, cause the market just wasn’t right in January

…not to mention we need at least one out-and-out winger.

AP refuses to play Fergie there, Guti is worthless in that position nowadays, he doesn’t like/trust Marveaux and Sammy is not ready to be an every-game PL player.

Great words from Sissoko ! Said it before and I’ll say it again, a signing o his calibre will truly take us to the next level. Would be nice to play the good old 4-2-3-1 :-

To be fair, with those 2 as holding mids, you can free up any of our attacking mids to do what they do best.

Why are we after another midfielder? Simple.
Tiote to leave in the next 2 windows. Man utd will come back for him. Honestly unless we establish ourselves consistently as a european contender team the next few seasons i dont expect that our best players will stay. As much as i want tiote to leave i believe the management is planning to sell tiote for a nice profit.

To get the lad on a free transfer would be amazing considering the valuation going round, one question I wanna ask though as I can’t be bothered trailing google lol…. What’s the current home grown requirement? I’m all for getting great talent into the club and understand why we’re going for youth because if I’m right it’s 5 year so Krul etc is classed as “home grown” but santon, colo, Cabaye, Ben Arfa, jonas, Tiote, Cisse, Ba, Marveuax…..just curious
