Pardew – Newcastle Can Finish In The Top Four

Alan Pardew held his press conference as usual and he was as upbeat as ever in front of the local supporters and he put Liverpool and Newcastle United on the same level at the moment.

Alan Pardew – seems very confident of Newcastle’s chances this season

Alan is very upbeat on the squad he has helped assemble at Newcastle and he still thinks he can finish in the top four in the league table, and at the moment we are four points behind Tottenham, who are in 4th place at the moment in the league table.

Alan, like other players have pointed out this week, thinks that there are points in the next few upcoming games for Newcastle, starting at Liverpool on Sunday afternoon.

Alan was also interviewed yesterday on BBC Sport, and he had this to say about the team he currently has and convinced Mike Ashley to keep some of his top players after some big clubs came in for them at the end of August:

“It was a tough summer. I convinced owner Mike Ashley that we needed another year with this team.” “We deserved it after last year, so we kept it all together even though some big hitters came in.”

“But they are going to have to pay a lot of money for our players.” “I genuinely do believe that we can finish in the top four. I still think we are in a good position. I believe I can win every game.”

“I am Newcastle manager, I shouldn’t be in a job if I don’t think I can win every game.”

Newcastle will have to start hitting top form if we are to climb the league table and finish in the top four, and we’ll also have to be lucky with injuries – which we haven’t been so far this season.

But it’s certainly possible if Newcastle can hit their top form from now on for us to do even better than last season, even though we’ve made only a mediocre start to the season.

Believing they can do it is half the battle for our players, and form the interviews we’ve seen this season, our lads are not short on confidence or belief.

Howay The Lads!!

Did any one read the article with Neil warnock saying the only reason that chelsea reported clattenburg was because they lost the game?
Thought it seemed a bit of a funny comment until you say how many managers have come out and backed clattenburg think this saga could drag be very messy and someone is going to look very very stupid at the end of it

    At least he is confident.
However, his comment about keeping key players for at least ONE more year due to performance of last year is a worry.
What’s he saying – finish lower than 5th this season and MA will authorise the sale of the ‘purple’s’?

He is beginning to p1ss me off keep going on about losing players. I have never known another manager like it.
And we will finish 6th – 8th, no higher.

It would take some serious effort, Alan. Starting with a win at Anfield. Cannot be drawing with teams like Reading or barely scratching away victories vs West Brom and expect to be 4th place.

It would also require we get Cisse firing and we avoid any injuries.

Pardew either has a great sense of humour or is delusional.

Llambias lost us the momentum from last season with his failure in the transfer market (again!).

Champion’s League you’re having a laugh … draws against Villa, Reading & the scum, no way.

How many more times will Pardew say ‘ it’s going to cost a lot of money to buy our players’ I am sure he must be on commision !

Enough Alan, let’s go buy a couple of players

I expect he IS on commission. How better to keep your manager onside when your policy is ‘buy cheap, sell expensive’.
He’s talking about Rodgers not being given the tools for the job. Rodgers and his predecessor had buckets of cash to spend, comparatively. And at a commensurate wage structure which turns the heads of the likes of Carroll, Enrique and Demba Ba to name only our 3. Have Rodgers and Pardew got the same job? Rodgers is tasked with making Liverpool great again and competing at the very top. Sometimes I wonder about Pards job description.
And yes, stop yapping about how much our players will go for. Fans couldn’t care less.

Nice to see the positive attitude, but unless we strengthen in January then we don’t have a chance. The top 4 Atm are miles better than us and so are Arsenal. Top 6 is the best we can hope for IMO, but even Everton are looking stronger this season.

7th and above and I’d be satisfied tbh ( that’s if we don’t strenghen).

Also, does Pardew mean when he asked for another year with this team that Ashley wanted to sell some players?

So he wanted to sell players and not buy any? Not surprised in the least.

It has to be conceded that top four, this year may be a step too far, but, having said that, it is the same group of players that finished 5th last season!!

It would have been a more realistic comment had we started this season in similar vein to last year, but to be honest, the season so far has been fairly mediocre.

However, should we manage to produce a winning performance against luckypoo, it may well provide the catalyst to kickstart the season in a positive manner and send us on a run of 5 or 6 games undefeated with several wins in the equation.

Its all down to Pardeau and his merry men to extract their digit and play to their best plan – whatever that may be.
