Young Newcastle Striker On £3.5K Per Week Wages

Newcastle’s 21 year-old striker Nile Ranger has had charges dropped against him in court, but the youngster was bound over to keep the peace for a year, and if doesn’t do that, he will be fined one week’s wages.

Nile Ranger – on £3.5K/week at Newcastle

One of the several cases that had been brought against the Londoner over the last 15 months was one for kicking his girlfriend’s door in, but Nile said he only did that because he was afraid she was being kidnapped – this lad is good on his feet obviously.

Ranger was arrested in the early morning of Sunday 23 rd September, and it was after his girlfriend called the police, because she thought someone was breaking into the house.

In court,  Ranger’s lawyer had the following to say:

“Mr.Ranger was in a club when he was told by a friend there was a kidnap threat made to his girlfriend.”  “He was suitably worried and attended her address. All the lights were off and after knocking a few times he decided to kick the door through”

Is it just me, or is that a ridiculous made up story – well maybe it’s even true – but the court did accept the explanation from the lawyer.

The charge of criminal charge has been subsequently dropped and Nile Ranger was bound over for an amount of one week’s wages, which was £3,500.

So Nile is getting around £182K a year from Newcastle on his five-year contract, which is not too bad for a 21 year-old, who probably has no chance of ever playing for the Newcastle first team again.

That’s unless he mends his ways by training 100% each and every day of training, and not arriving late – and oh yes – by not getting himself into trouble with the Northumbria police.

If he can do those things we suppose there’s still a way back for the 21 year-old, who two years ago looked to have a promising career ahead of him at Newcastle.

That’s no longer the case.

Well i trust that when Pards says he’s on his last warning then thats it. I don’t think he’ll ever be good enough for the premier league, but if he sorts his head he could end up a solid Championship player.

Wasn’t it generally understood he was on 10k a week, now we find out it’s 3.5. The shit piles up so high you need wings to stay above it all.

As Jp mentioned it on the last post, i am also hoping for 20-25mins of Campbell off the bench. Give him a run out on Thurs if we are up by 1 or 2 with 20mins to go. Win this one and Bordeaux lose or draw then we can probably throw a few more fringe players in for the last two games, ie Abeid and maybe Good.

IF he had kept his head down and ditched his loser ‘friends’ who are likely no more than leeches anyway, he MAY have been a decent striker for us now. He would be picking up at least TEN times his current wage packet too. A complete dyed-in-the-wool recidivist and waster. Bombed.

geordie157, i would have no hesitation playing adam campbell in the prem or europe, hes a terrific kid, seen him many many times, im hoping he gets a good run out v brugges maybe half an hour, and if we get to the last game qualified then i would start the lad with no hesitation against maritimo.

Only last week AP said campbell was as good as anyone in training well put him in and lets see if he can do it, we have watched shola for nearly a dozen years so i would love to see it freshened up. also get the midfiel darea perked up its flat as a fart and no creation coming from it, it needs to be looked at it really does.

beefman – aagreed our mid is neither fish nor fowl and with tiote out and the way cabaye and guti are being played, plus the lack of support for benny, its all going a bit Pete at the minute. Help! I’m on a taxi out of O.V. bound for Pessimist Way !

Tsunki i hope marveaux comes back in to,the reckoning as well, he didnt have a good un v everton but those games do not fit in to his strengths, i feel he was made a bit of a scapegoat i honestly would rather watch the lad than jonas who is stale as hell for me at the moment.

i have watches virtually every home reserve game and medhi abeid is a good kid but wont express himself when he could as he is very good technically but very rarely attacks the space in front of him, maybe he should throw caution to the wind a bit more and go for it i think he could he has that in his locker it just needs to be brought out.

Miss a Nolan thread but catch the helmet thread…my timings all to sh*t.

On big Kev I love the bloke and I reckon if he was still with us he would be playing most games we get next to no goals from CM which is exactly what Nolan offers as well as leadership, passion and fire (again I think we lack that now possibly because Colo is captain tbh). If he gets booed it will be very undeserved

On Ranger…he’s a helmet who should of been sacked long ago

Abeid still has time to come good and get into the first team on a regular basis, Marveaux i’m a bit worried about but would like to see him playing in front in front of 2 centre midfielders, linking up play without so much pressure on him to track back. He reminds me a bit of Viana, good player, technically gifted but maybe not quite right for the Prem.

Reckon its not in their hands tbh Simmo will see what’s on offer in Jan and go from there. Maybe dropping him was meant to be a message that we can cope without him…didn’t work though haha

I hold little hope for him staying unfortunately but hey am sure he’ll be replaced in a year or so

Good point, looks like Shola might start then. Saying that Cisse needs games and scoring in a few more in Europa might benefit us in the league, he can’t be stuck out left again thats for sure!!

I don’t see how it’s viable from the bean counters perspective to sign Simmo for the money he wants. He’d surely have little ongoing transfer value if he’s on good wages and he’s not a long term first choice, you’d imagine. I agree, he’s off.

So ranger has been banned from playing for newcastle for doing nothing wrong? Not guilty of what he was accused and found guilty of a push after being wrongly arrested and racially abused. Sounds harsh to me, carroll was given the number 9 shirt after breaking a team mates jaw, having his car set on fire for dodgy goings on, assaulting his lass and glassing someone.

As for Anita, glad to see him in the middle, looked much better there, think a trio of him, Tiote and Cabaye has potential.

We’ve got a few players who might not get another chance if they don’t come good this season, Gosling and Marveaux being the main ones but possibly the same applies to the fan fav Obertan. Simple answer if they don’t bring in Sissoko for Gos, Belhanda for Marv and Boudebouz for Obertan, sorted.
