Newcastle Interested In 20 Year-Old Winger

Tottenham and Newcastle are said to be interested in taking Paul Ince’s son Tom to Newcastle, and the winger is attracting a lot of attention,  as his contract runs out next summer.

Tom Ince – Newcastle interested in 20 year-old

It could well be that Newcastle are interested, as reported in The Sun today, since we always seem to be involved when decent players are available on a free transfer, and about a year ago, we were similarly linked with Canadian striker/winger Junior Hoilett, who eventually joined QPR.

Blackpool’s 20 year-old Tom Ince has been playing very well this season, and is attracting interest from a number of Premier League sides.

Ince has played for the England U17 and U19 sides,  and has four caps at the England U21 level, and he’s already scored 9 goals in only 15 appearances so far this season for Blackpool, and that’s one goal more than he scored in 41 appearances last season for the Seasiders.

But it could well be that Tom ends up at the club his father played for – Manchester United – and apparently Alex Ferguson is said to be keen to sign the player – maybe even in January.

The 20 year-old joined Blackpool from Liverpool in August of last year on a two-year contract, with an option for a third year, and in 56 total appearances for Blackpool he’s scored 17 goals – and that’s a decent record.

We’re not sure if we’ll be able to sign this player, and it doesn’t look good if Manchester United are leading the pack.

A Question and maybe a sensible outlook for some on here who think Sammy is the dogs….
How many teams vying for the top 8 would sammy ameobi get into?

I am not slagging the boy, I am giving my honest opinion that i do not think he is good enough. Becuase I can runn at defenders all day and lose the ball at the critical moment….this would suggest currently he simply is not good enough. So please stop overrating this lad and making him believe he is a player in the same class as Messi! he needs to have some constructive criticism in the hope he can drastically improve his game, otherwise sell him!

Ps Young ince is a much better player than ameobi, he actually does have an end product.

Les – Sammi compared to Messi, think you have slightly gone overboard on people praise of the lad, you have slagged him, and it is unwarranted, it is the potential that people see, not the current ability, he is technically good can dribble, is really pacey and can open doors, that is a huge plus in todays game.

He will improve, it is nice to see you have wrote him off at 20 years old. Really good that getting behind our younger talented players.

Pick on Jonas or Simpson if you must pick on anyone, they offer jack shit to the team and havent done for a while. Nice to see a couple of full backs last night that could influence the game when we actually had the ball.

    Chris
Better than ‘most’ youngsters we have.
I tend to think that alot of people look at our youngsters with rose tined specs on.
Alot of our youngsters are not as good as some people make them out to be.
I go to the reserves (U21) games on occasions, and they look decent against reserves (U21) players!

There is no one in the league of the likes of Rahim Sterling and a few others pushing into first team contention at their various clubs. Sadly I still think we are a bit wanting in this area……

@Les, I feel that on a whole, Newcastle’s youngsters are stronger compared to respective competition at other clubs. Sterling is one man, who gets plenty of 1st team action because of new management and necessity for Pool.

Fergie has shown flashes of an excellent threat with his crossing, and Sammy has gone from lackluster midfielder to a more skilled central attacker on the break.

    Check
I have not slagged Sammi off at all. I have stated my opinion!! But if you would like me to slag someone off it would be you and your obvious lack of knowledge of our team.

Jonas….porbably the hardest working player at the club who holds the ball up better than anyone within the first team squad…you t1t

Simpson, the best Right back at the club by a country mile….did you watch the liverfool match how anita was the most uncomfortable player on the park in the right back slot.

You really do talk some sh1t man.

Oh and my opinion after all that is STILL sammi ame is not good enough for the first team!!!

SO, what exactly have you acheived with your “Really good that getting behind our younger talented players” Bullsh1t?

    Ameoba brained pleb!

@Check I agree with you on Sammy, but Simpson’s importance to our side can’t be understated. When he was injured we saw all kinds of problems defending on the right side, both in Europa League and the PL. He’s not the greatest attacking threat but his defensive workrate is massive.

but Jonas…I used to be a big supporter of him because he is capable of some amazing play and crossing into the box, but it’s SO few and far between..and he spends most of his time winning free kicks (sometimes when he should take it on) and being sloppy in midfield. He is also quite scared to win the ball and his coordination is a nightmare at times.

    Fergie is better than sammy

SO….Marveaux, Fergie, HBA, Obertan….which one of these guys wuld you leave out for Sammy??

OR should sammy getinto the starting line up because he can run and do step overs???? Otherwise, what has he done?

Lets look at fergie…..Runs with pace, beats players, puts pin point crosses into the box and tackles!!

Obertan….Pace to burn, very skillful, pops up with a goal, and very rarely losses the ball…..end product not great.

Marveaux…Skillful, very fast, very goodend product, excellent crosser of the ball…lacks confiodence to shoot

HBA … No NEED TO SAY ANYTHING HERE

    Sammy ameobi….Pace….?………???….skillful………downside…gives ball away consistently!!

So?? who shall we leave out for Ameobi….

I’ve already stated I think Sammy has a long way to go before he can be considered as a first team regular. I sometimes wonder if he’s tripping over his own feet. Jonas, however, is becoming a bit of a problem. He seems to have bulked up as he’s approached 30, and this has affected his pace. Furthermore, his willingness to “hit the deck” rather easily when tackled may result in us obtaining a free kick (which we invariably waste), but stops the flow of the game. We are at our best when we start moving the ball around, and this generally stops when it reaches Jonas. His work-rate may be great, but he’s past his sell-by date.

sammy needs to go out on loan as he is no ware near ready for the first team there is only fergie that should be in the first team as a winger not left back tav is not good enough for the prem needs to go out on loan aswell me i think marv has been real poor when ive saw him playing need a least 3-4 class players in jan a play maker who will get cabeye on top of his game knowing poor perfomances would end up cabeye been dropped to the bench same goes with defence get douglas and top class left back to keep our defence on there toes
