An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

…maybe the game yesterday was an eye opener for AP – the straw that broke the camel’s back 🙂
…maybe we will changes now; those some of us have been crying for – choose different players, a different approach go the game and a different formation/tactic.
I have probably not seen a team for a very long time so incapable of creating chances (and hungup on having two forwars) and when they eventually did they were more or less never really dangerous!

Comment #2our performance was woeful yesterday.. adding on to yet another disappointing display so far this season..
Krul – did well to keep the score 1-0 with a big save
Santon – seems to grow into the game and made several good runs down the left flank pushing the team forward. his gonna be a huge player for us.
Williamson/Saylor – didn’t have much problem with AC. both played well and Willo did well during a couple of attacking set pieces.
Simpson – can we have debuchy please?
Cabaye – poor delivery during set pieces. average in the midfield. not the same cabaye I saw last season.
Guti – with him, we are 9 men going forward and 10 men defending.
Ferguson – usual stuff for him. connecting well with Santon but still not putting enough crosses. Gd workrate though.
HBA – looked classy and most likely to create a chance or score a goal.
Anita – slow, caught in possession a couple of times. otherwise, a gd all rounded display.
Ba – did well. several good runs. such a shame to have been denied a goal due to poor call from the ref. I can’t believe in this age, we are still not using goal line technology.
Cisse – poor. tried a one time shot on the left when he could have taken more time waiting for support or bring the ball inside penalty box.
Shola – average.
Obertain – i’ve long concluded that he’s shit.
AP – what’s wrong the with him? how come it seems like the Europa squad is better than our EPL squad? players who aren’t performing should be dropped. Guti, Cisse, shouldn’t have started. why isn’t the team clicking? we looked lethargic and very slow with the ball. look at swansea, everton, westbrom. they don’t have better individuals than us but yet playing better, quicker, more fluid football than us. AP should break away with his old fashioned 4-4-2, otherwise, i think he’s not the man for us.

Comment #4Everytime the ball was swung in the box there were only 2 players in there, neither winger tries to get in the box to score, neither CM does either, therefore we only get goals from 2 players in our squad..hence why we are so poor in the goals for column, especially when 1 of the 2 is playing horrendously.
Anita and cabaye were both playing the deep midfield role which meant neither were getting forward.
We dont have enough people who are desperate to score in our team.

I notice that Colo got 52 votes in your ‘Who Was Newcastle’s Best Player Against West Ham’ but Tiote is not in your list.
Surely he too deserves to be included?

I agree with your analysis except about Simpson ‘debuchy please’. Santon should be on the right and a left footed left back on the other side.
Anita reminds me of Colo in his first season. For some foreign players I think it takes them time to adapt and adjust to a much higher tempo league.
I think one of the problems of Cisse is that he instinctively goes into areas where Ba is going or is already there.
I agree about Cabaye. Something is not quite right whether it’s his head or/and his body but he isn’t functioning 100%.
On West Ham, whether Carroll didn’t want to play I don’t know but on this performance he isn’t worth 35 quid let alone 35 million.

Simpson is poor going upfront and his crosses were more like blindly hoofing balls into the box and hoping someone would pick that up. i’ve seen debuchy play and he is dangerous going foward. he can cross from deep or byline, he drills in crosses as well as accurate high crosses.. defensively, simpson is quite decent as is debuchy. so i think he shld be on his way next season for someone more attacking minded. doesn’t have to be debuchy..
we very much have a the same player in both cisse and ba. ba is more all rounded for me. cisse is more of a poacher. i see AP is trying to play them further apart from going into the same areas like you’ve said.
i like Anita but i agree he needs time to acclimatise to the pace of epl.
just another thought on hba. do you realise that he isn’t that effective on the left? not being able to cut infield kinda limits him to just crossing.. i would like to see a line up with either ba/cisse upfront, and ober/marv, cabaye, hba behind, anita/guti and tiote sitting in front of def.. this formation is similar to what chelsea is playing with atm. more versatile and hard to predict,.

Comment #9first off all,,the kind of football that we play is easily predictable.
1.the same 4-4-2 and whenever we get a free kick cabaye always tries to lob it over to williamson..
come on guys,,we need something very creative.HBA is a good player but he is trying to showoff most of the time.he losses the ball more often than he scores. If he is not so comfortable then why cant he put in second striking position.HBA and BA would provide good combination in the front..
2.the most important is the transfer budget. if we dont spend a penny and expect to buy all good players, then its a total bullshit and thats what mike ashley is doing at the moment. he is least bothered about strengthening the squad.we should have spent that extra 1 million and bought debuchy..is mike ashley mad..? for his money he cant certainly buy good players instead he can only buy a bunch of sluts and whore(which he is doing at the moment)
3.we shouldn’t find fault with AP.its because of the players we fail to win the matches.
all my hopes of finishing in top 6 has vanished.i wouldn’t be suprised even if we get relegated…i will be a real shame.
were has the sportsmanship gone?
if we dont win the next 5 games, then i m sure that newcastle is nothing but a total bunch of bullshits owned by the biggest prick(mike ashley)
newcastle must improve their performance…if they dont then pls guys dont waste your time supporting this holy shit…
players desereves no respect,,let them be sent to excile..

Comment #10Pardew is not a tactical coach like Fergi or Moyes.
Pardew is too predictable
I still believe we were lucky to finish 5th last season. We played teams that were resting most of their players for CL or played teams with their key players injured
Hope yesterdays result will open Pardew eyes and branch out of his comfort 4-4-2 play
Other thing ive noticed since Pardew took over is, when was the last time we trashed a team by 4 goals or more. We always seem to win by a goal and rarely 2 goals.

Comment #11it seems like more and more are starting to see pardew like i see him and a few others on here
yes maybe i am wrong for asking for him to be replaced, but i see no other option, sorry if you think this is bad of me,,
what i find strange is that most of the guys sticking up for pardew are the same guys that wanted FAT SAM out, and the 2 of them play the same type of football, infact i think sam tries to get it down on the ground more, and right now if i had a choice id pick sam over pardew,,
i also fail to see that this is me being negative, when its been this way for a long time now, and not just this season, just more of you are starting to wake up the fact,,
defensive football is not bad, and i would not mind playing defensive if there was some sort of plan of attack but there isnt, unless you think smashing the ball 80 yards and hope BA will score, these are not tactics this is playground football
ok i may think our players are better than they are, but i know there not as bad as pardew makes them look
right now this reminds me of when kenny dogleash was in charge, he had a good team and killed it, SIR BOBBY took over and got them playing football, and winning
some have a go at me for slating obertan, and yet you same ppl are saying Cisse needs dropped, WHY, the guy needs service to score goals, and that service is not there,
lots of you are saying cabaye is in poor form, i sugest he is in the wrong position, its hard for an AMC to break into thew box whe he is playing DMC,,
anita, the kid has just signed for us, did not hit the ground running, but he has ability and will come good, but put him in a position that he can get used to playing in, 2 weeks ago, he started in DMC, got switched to RB, and then went back to DMC bye the end of the game,
in my opinion these players are not good enough
shola
obertan
simpson
williamson
perch,
jonas ( again he was my fave pplayer for a few seasons but now he offers nothing other than running around)
i would rather play kids with better ability/rawness to there game and let them gain the experience needed than play the above who never get any better,,
perch is the onnly one who has improved, but only in his tackling ability, he wins the ball and can not pass more than 5 yards, and for me is still shit in CB,,
yes i am negative right now, but i see no way forward with pardew as the manager, he has a great squad, and is killing it ,
i laughed yesterday when he said we didnt get the any breaks,, , what he ment was lady luck was not on his side yesterday, like it has been for so long now, he had to depend on his own ability, hmmm what ability,,
on a positive note,, there is a great squad for the next manager
he has no clue or balls, and his excuse book is running a little thin, if im honest

Comment #13I’ve been saying for months that our real problem is in midfield. We don’t keep and control the ball and that means we create very few chances. Changing Simmo for Debuchy or buying a new CH wont change our midfield weakness. Last season, especially early on, we played a high line and a pressing game in midfield where we worked as a team unit. This season we are playing as individuals and the pressing game has gone. Cabaye isn’t a controlling midfield player and we are relying far too much on HBA to create. Unless Pards sorts the midfield out we’ll continue to create to few chances and that leaves us wide open to more results like yesterday’s.

we always tend to win by a very little margin..
even this season we were lucky to have won aginst wba and the norwich game,it was 1-0..
when are we going to win a game by big margin..
is our team that bad?
i would say that pardew must revolutionise the whole team,,,pls for gods sake try some different tactics. Its real shame for me to say that i m a newcastle fan. we must be proud and with all the good players we must start winning matches.
if this form continues then most of our top players will be leaving the club in january on next year.
it was because of them we didn’t win matches.they must understand it…HBA should start passing the ball more effectively..
And we must be very aggresive in our approach….at the moment our formation is like 7–1–2……..change the whole thing…pls..

The fact that it wasnt given shows goal line tech is needed in the game. We shouldnt rue over the one that didnt go in. Shit happens and we have to deal with it. Sometimes it works in our favor sometimes it doesnt.
It seems we are not looking to win games this year, instead we are looking for draws which imo is a shame with the quality group of players we have

i never agree with you, but you are right about the midfield, i have been saying it to,
4 at the back and 3 DMC all befor the half way line, then expect 3 up top to score and win games,,,
but its not the players, it has to be pardew, he tells them to play there, or if it was the players, why does he continue to play them,, surely he would put players in that do the job he is asking them to do,,,
do you think cabaye likes playing as DMC his instinct is to get forward
some of you are reluctant to point the finger at pardew, WHY?????

Comment #22Wizard…from where I was sitting that was not a goal and ref. called it the right way (I am willing to watch it again though :))
…for me the ref. was okay – not brilliant or anything, but he did not cost us the game we did that ourself effortlessly.
…we need the wake-up call so maybe it’s all for the best (how ever we twist it; it is not really working this season)

I agree with Jose. Had we kept him, we wouldve been a very good defensive team. Lets not forget the attacking prowess both Santon and Jose possess. Also we should’ve kept Nolan. Heart of the midfield with Cabaye whereas Saylor and Colo would’ve been the heart of our defense. MA you got it wrong with those two players by selling them

Re – previous thread. I don’t think it’s a lack of investment particularly. We have far better players than West Ham and we were playing at home. Ashley got rid of Allardyce because he didn’t like his style, but ironically Pardew is turning out to be far worse.
Statiscally we have played more long balls this season than Stoke and West ham which is a really damning indictment and like fat Sham we are so negative even at home.
I just find it incredible that maybe 95% of people on here can see the problem but the guy paid the big bucks can’t. I remember 1 game at Norwich when we were chasing a goal Pardew put perch on just so we didn’t lose by more!
Obvious things:-
1) Simmo – extremely limited as a footballer. Move Santon right, play Jonas at left back.
2) Willo – Ok Colo was injured so maybe no choice
3) Anita was bought as a DM to play in a middle 3 with Tiote and Cabs to let Cabs go forward. Still waiting to see it.
4) A blind man can see Cisse and Ba will never work in a 442 no matter how long Pardew flogs it. They did work in 433 with Ba out left, but he won’t do that any more. So you play 1 or the other centrally with a whole selection of Sammi, Fergie, Marv or Obertan to choose from to play left.
5) has to be ONE central striker up front in a 433 / 4231 or 451. 442 has to be kicked in to the long grass.
Brian Clough never had money to spend at Forest but they were twice European champions because he got the players to buy in to a good passing and moving system.
Pardew is a typical English FA clone. We ahve the players, now we need a manager who will let them express themselves and not be consumed with fear all the time.
This season has been the biggest bore fest ever. Yes we need a good RB and CH, but a lot of teams would kill for the players we have and they are just being wasted in Pardew’s straitjackets.
Why can’t Pardew think back to how we beat WBA away last season. That should have been the blueprint for this season. Wasted opportunity.

Comment #31I said Early in th eseason we cant keep buying 18 year olds and expect them to do a job of a Tiote or a Cabaye or a Coloccini . We have been cought out . The fat controller has to get the fat wallet out in January on 3 new players or we get out the Europa Cup asap and concentrate on the League . we were terrable yesterday . Obertan was Hopeless . Last season we would have battered west ham ….
