An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #43SAF join in 86 won first title in 91 but was almost sacked
capello won lots of title with his clubs but like newcastle ATM, england did not have enough quality and no cover at all.
last season after that chelsea H fixture along came a terrible run of results due to squad depth
arsenal have the same manager now as they had when they went on that unbeaten run of 56 game the differance poor squad now.
chelsea had very poor league performance last year and were look worst due to chopping and changing and were lucky to win the CL
everton had had such bad starts but recovered late in the season
fulham stoke during europa league suffered poor in premier league.

Comment #44Rotonda…Well, I am sorry that you feel I am difficult to debate with due to my excessive sarcasm and ironic comments.
At the end of the day, personality matters very little. I don’t like Ferguson, but he’s a bloody good manager. So any personal feeling about Pardew or how he comes across matters little to me.
Personally, I think his man management of HBA last season was spot on. He worked him up and got a better all round play from him. Some don’t agree, that is fine, difference of opinion.
Pardew is English, so I’m sure there is good argument that he is an archetypal English manager. From what I’ve heard he has said that he wants to move away from 4-4-2 and that is what he, his fellow coaches and players are working towards. Can we see it yet? Not really, no. Do I think he’s just making it up? Not really, no. Do I think he needs time before we judge him on this? Absolutely.
We do have some very talented players and some not so. These players currently have to play together, so there wont be one perfect system for them all. We are in a time of adjustment imo and at times it will be messy and painful. Someone said earlier that sometimes you have to take steps backwards to move forward. I’d go along with that.
We’re not in a low league position, we are mid-table. 2 or 3 wins and we’re back where we want to be, however, a few losses and we could find ourselves in an uncomfortable place. Do I think that now is the time to panic? No. Time to evaluate and get to work? Yep.
Next weeks excuse? I think you feel we’re excusing each game individually, which isn’t entirely correct. As I said earlier, we feel we’re taking a broader view of the situation. I don’t honestly expect much this season. We all knew what the problems could or would be, so why is it such a surprise?
We’ve had no form all season. Should we expect better results?
I get everyone is frustrated, I really do, but we have what we have and going back to the old days of “so and so out” isn’t going to move us forward at all imo.

Comment #46Getting shot of the manager will get us nowhere. I am as frustrated as anyone but that isn’t the answer. He just has to have the balls to make tough decisions.
HBA could try passing once in a while. With others it’s best they don’t try to pass lol! I still think BA is the problem. Everything is set up for him at the minute but it makes the team look awful. Last season we put Cisse through time after time. When this season have we got in behind other teams?
Quite simply, if HBA doesn’t pull a rabbit out the hat, we are shit. Plain and simple. Go back to 4-3-3 and if BA doesn’t like it then tough. Right now we look like the Stoke B team. Last season we were brilliant at times.

Comment #47Also i wud like to point out we cant blame krul or williamson for the long balls, if they werent supposed to do it ap wud tell them off. I have never seen him tell them to stop or shout at them or anything so i think ap tells them to do it. If thats true thats the first thing to fix. Dont kick the ball over cabaye. He is one of the best passers in france atm and yet we dont give him the ball in space we just launch it to ba /cisse/shola
Alot needs fixing its not as simple as just changing the formation. But so far this season it doesnt seem like he has changed anything from game 1

You made a very important post on an earlier thread.
The main gripe is seeing other teams playing much better football with lesser players.
Simpson as we know has little or no quality in the final third. He had two great chanches from good positions and under no pressure yo make a good cross and wasted both.
Williamson is so uncomfortable with the ball at his feet its embarassing.
Ben Arfa is class but nobody ever links with hi m to interchange passes. Hence he never has an outlet. Marveaux could maybe do it.
For the rest sammy bigi and fergy dont look ready.

There both completly different types of player anita CM rhodes striker and yeah at £8 mil fir a player who was in league one it was way to much and even now hes having an average season in the championship
Also what does pards dress sense have to do with his managerial skills?

Comment #60Anita’s a good player and had a steady game today. He was better as a defensive midfielder than a left back. We needed to sign Anita, but we made a mistake not signing another 2 strikers. Konate and Remy should have been signed in addition to Debuchy, Vertonghen, Mbiwa, Boudebouz and Marvin Martin.

Comment #62Some of you are so quick to defend everything that it clouds your judgement.
If there wasn’t murmurs of discontent in general life then we wouldn’t have the democracy we are proud of and the Tories would be getting away with a lot more.
Look at Europe, uniting to stop the poor management of the financial system and trying to do something about it.
If we are looking to be united it has to be in the interest of the club we all love so dearly.
We must unite to rid ourselves of the board for failing to deliver continued investment and Pardew for failing to provide suitable footballing quality despite having incredible players at his disposal.

We need the following:
1) A new owner.
2) A new manager.
3) New coaches.
4) A new 25 man squad. Abeid and Xisco can stay.
Right then, lets get to work.

Comment #73Yeah, someone like Marvin Martin or we could sign Boudebouz and put Ben Arfa in the attacking midfield position. Don’t forget, Marveaux also plays just behind the striker, so he should be utilised more often there. He keeps playing Bigirimana but too be honest, I don’t rate him at all.

TDS
she has had a great day thanks,, and im getting wrong for drifting of to here 🙁
Conaldo (The Wizard)
i only wish pardew supported the team half as much as me, show some faith in them instead of putting chains on them
i support the team, love nearly all the players, 1 or 2 i thinkare not good enough for this league,, and with those one i would rather play kids,, at least they would have an excuse for being poor at times
right now is the time to get rid, in 2 years, we have seen nothing to suggest he is a good manager building a team, playing to a system or a style,
so for me with every match that goes by, its wasted time that a new guy could get us playing football,,
Conaldo tell me 5 games in the EPL in 2 years that we have bossed and won easely,, i dont think you can

Comment #78We should snap up Sissokho because he’s free and we should also sign Boudebouz for £5m. That will complete our midfield. We then need a wingback, 2 centre backs and 2 strikers.

Comment #80Alan…..It’s all oh so simple. You do have to wonder what they’ve been doing the last 2 years. Stability? Ha, I laugh at the suggestion.
Shake it all up. If it’s no good, shake it up again. Who knows, in the next 100 years we may luck out, until then, if we hit problems, just change everything!!!
Disclaimer: I know no one is asking for everything to be changed.
