Some Bad News On Yohan Cabaye

After two successive home defeats in just 7 days there was more bad news handed out by Alan Pardew after the game yesterday, which saw the lads lose 2-1 to a good looking Swansea.

Yohan Cabaye – may need operation on groin

The groin injury to Yohan Cabaye may be worse than we thought, and while Newcastle will be getting a second opinion on the injury, it may be that the French International needs an operation to cure the problem.

This is what Alan Pardew said about Yohan, who missed the game yesterday:

“He’s having a second opinion his groin injury. We think he might need a little bit of surgery there.”

This is a huge concern because we have nobody who can come in for the French International, and Yohan has that bit of class to unlock opposing defenses, and we showed yesterday that with four of our top players missing – Coloccini, Gutierrez, Cabaye and Cisse, we are not half the team we are with all four in the side.

It’s now completely clear that the Newcastle squad is not big enough or good enough to play in Europe, and it seems we’re in for a mediocre season at best in the league,a s long as we are participating in the Europa League.

But it’s good news on Jonas Gutierrez, who almost made the game yesterday, and seems certain to start at Southampton next Sunday, but the Saints will be a tough game after they played so well yesterday in beating a woeful QPR side at Loftus Road 3-1.

We’ll just have to hope it’s not as bad as it seems with Yohan Cabaye.
