Moussa Sissoko is on the radar screen of Newcastle United for a possible January move, although he is also being tracked by both Juventus and Russian club Anzhi Makhachkala, who are owned by Billionaire Suleyman Kerimov.
Moussa Sissoko – praises Newcastle again?
The 23 year-old has been talking to Yohan Cabaye about the Newcastle team and the local area, and he has (again?) come out and said he is flattered by interest from the Tyneside club:
“To play in the Premier League would be a dream come true. It is a fantastic league and I enjoy watching it.” “Newcastle are a fantastic team and would be attractive to any player. I am no different.”
This is news today in the Daily Express, and we assume this is a new quote from the 5 times capped french International, who a few days ago said he was uncertain of where he would be moving to, when his contract runs out at Toulouse in the summer.
Sissoko has played almost 200 times for the French club with 23 gals since making his debut back in August of 2007, as a 17 year-old.
We have to hope that Newcastle are negotiating a deal with Toulouse to bring this 6’2″ central midfielder to Newcastle, and he can play in either the attacking or holding role in central midfield.
We need some new players at Newcastle in January, and this lad would be a terrific buy for the Magpies, but this quote seems suspiciously like the one we reported back on November 2nd.
So this could be old news being regurgitated by the Daily Express – but we suppose it’s worth showing it again – especially when there seems to be growing negativity in some quarters surrounding Newcastle right now, and especially directed towards the manager – Alan Pardew.
