Newcastle Have Striker Problem For Maritimo

Alan Pardew has said today that he is waiting on the fitness of Shola Ameobi, who was due to start alongside Papiss Cisse in Newcastle’s 5th Group D game in the Europa League tomorrow night at St. James’ Park.

Shola Ameobi – has groin problem

Shola has struggled with niggly little injuries all his career at Newcastle, and the manager had this to say about Shola today:

“The only one we are a little bit concerned about is Shola. He’s got a slight groin niggle, so we are going to have to see how he shapes up for tomorrow’s game”.

Shola is needed tomorrow night so that Alan Pardew can rest Demba Ba, but it may be that he will bring in either Xisco or even Nile Ranger to the squad – if Shola is ruled out.

But we shouldn’t be playing both Ba and Papiss tomorrow night against Maritimo, when we have Sunday’s very important Premier League game at Southampton.

It could have been a chance for young Adam Campbell to come in, but he’s injured and out until the new year, so we could see potentially Nile Ranger given a game tomorrow night, although Sammy Ameobi can play up front alongside Papiss Cisse too.

This is not particularly good news, with Alan Pardew looking to make a number of changes to the side from last weekend, so that he has some of our top players fresh for the important Southampton game.

So play Cisse as a solo Striker? Its easy to see from last season he plays better up top by himself.

This is a chance to make Cisse play a full 90 and get scoring!

Then we can play with just Ba on Sunday.

Out of all the managers post keegan whose sacking did you lot not agree with?

For me Sir Bobby (although there was a lot of support for at the time) and Hughton!

All the others deserved to go because when we looked into the future we couldn’t see one with them in place.

Think of Pardews nufc in 8 years and tell me it looks like a successful future!

It doesn’t and the sooner we reach that inevitable fact the better.

Most of you are still reminiscing about Bobbys sacking or justifying Hoots’s sacking to avoid seeing the reason we should rod ourselves of Pardew.

He will bring short term stability if he can escape a premiership relegation dog fight but never will he bring us glory. So what’s the point??

Abramovic is certainly a ruthless character -bit of speculation as to who the next manager is -I just cannot see it being Rafa Benitez despite one or two on here saying he will be and the bookies saying he is the favourite.

well if shola is in anyway doubtful then leave him out we dont want anymore injuries! so i would go with this, and judging by how well inman has been playing in the U21’s he probably deserves a spot on the bench..

I think its time for abrahmovic to become the manager of his team cause all the other things like transfers are done by him the only thing left to do is to manage the team which he bought

The Chelsea job is a perfect job.

Work for 6 months to a year, get sacked and paid 3/4 years wages in a lump sum.

Get no fault given to you as it’s always the owner being impatient then walk into another job.

It seems To be what all pr opus managers under abramovich have done

Amazing! Seen calls for pardew out and RDM in. Speechless! RDM plays some of the most negative football I’ve ever watched! Last night he started without a bloody striker! Baggies fans were glad to be rid of him!
Wish this blog was for over 18s sometimes, might cut down the utter rubbish that’s posted!

A baboon could see we should play 1 up front and that ba and cisse should be alternated especially given the number of games and injuries pardew is always moaning about.

I would love to see RDM come here. Pardew has had his 1 good season, has been found out and we are going absolutely nowhere because he hasn’t got the answers and most crucially some of the players don’t look up for it now.

Roeder had a better record almost and where is he now?
The tragedy is ashley won’t or can’t attract any better managers and it’s going to be a long 8 years, especially when they have reportedly refused to sell to Ambani 3 times!

So, Shola gets a game at the weekend, no doubt managed to get laid and now his groin is giving him a “bit of a niggle” lol – he’s obviously not doing it right.

Poor chap, doesn’t he make your heart bleed eh!!

I’d play cisse as lone striker with sameobi, Ben 10, obertan behind.
Tiote and Anita holding mid. then a fit back 4 and Krul/harps.

If anita needed for back 4, then its…..
    Bigi in the middle.

Oh no oh please I don’t have that second striker to play the legendary 4-4-2. Pardew stick your 4-4-2 up your butt and change to a 4-3-3 you have the players just effin do it instead of putting square pegs in round holes. Oh and Sammy is a bloody winger and does not want to play up there. In the future he may become a good forward but he is much better at winger where he is used to.
