Due to injurie, we ended up with abeid, amalfitano, marveaux, Anita, bigi, on the pitch.
More than half the team were under 23.
It is that inexperience that cost us a goal.

Oh, and Pardews cluelessness, everyone get your pitchforks out 🙂

  • 2 mattnufc // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:23 PM

^Should have bought more players in summer to avoid inevitable injuries.

  • 3 JTOONJ // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:23 PM

Finally some sense spoken. Wasn’t bigiramana playing in league 1 with lecister aswell? Huge jump up to the prem.

  • 4 Jonny // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:24 PM

Krul,Simpson,Taylor,Willo,Santon,Jonas,Tiote,Sammy,Ferguson,Shola,Ba. Starting IX for Sothampton i would guess. should be good enough for a draw.

  • 5 Novocastrian66 // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:24 PM

Jonny. Pardew didn’t look happy to me. He was very guarded and admitted we did not have enough quality and did not retain possession.

  • 6 toonking // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:24 PM

maybe you should be like me and just give up using this blog when we loose because there is too many who are never happy and expect things to happen in a day.

  • 7 Ketsbaia9 // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:24 PM

Abeid and Marveaux should now hopefully get their chance.

  • 8 Toon1978 // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:24 PM

We woudn’t be in this bloody position had the board backed Pardew.

  • 9 toonarmydownsouth // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:24 PM

We played the formation that 99.9% of the fans wanted the lads didnt turn up and obviously its pards fault add too that benny n cisse coming off!
Oh well the family guy shippopi episode is on FX in a min

  • 10 Conaldo (The Wizard...Also Bestest Friends With Paul Scharner) // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:24 PM

    Yes, more players were needed.

    Not Pardews fault.

  • 11 mindshaft // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:26 PM

Steven Taylor is now 3rd choice, wtf was he thinking doing dance moves instead of just pushing the player wide, he’s really gone downhill and I’d rather Willo played – we desperately need someone decent to help Collo out

  • 12 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:26 PM

it was an attacking line up,,, but they forgot to attck,

we sat back way to much, in the first half

how many players did you want to sign in the summer?? 10 ???

his football since he got here has been very poor, his results last season where good, we dont play football

this season is getting worse because of injuries, for sure,, but its not all because of injuries,, they where this poor from game one of the season

he should be sacked, if we want to move forward as a team,, no 2 ways about it,,

  • 13 Conaldo (The Wizard...Also Bestest Friends With Paul Scharner) // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:27 PM

    *more people are needed

Tads – damn I’m still on the way back.

We played the exact team that so many wanted. Not Pardews fault the result. Injuries and players not playing well are to blame. Then Ashley for lack of investment, then your next door neighbours dog, then Pardew.

  • 14 Conaldo (The Wizard...Also Bestest Friends With Paul Scharner) // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:28 PM

Catchy- I think Debuchy, a cb, a box-box midfielder, and a young striker.
That’s what we need. That’s what Pardew tried to sign. That’s what Ashley didnt buy.

  • 15 Toon1978 // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:29 PM

Wouldn’t have Williamson in the under 16s never mind the first team. Having said that, i would have Cisse in the under 16s either. The Football played by NUFC lately is barely division 1 standard.

  • 16 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:31 PM

    are you for reall

    when has anyone said

ok we want CISSE up top
HBA just behind and the rest of you can sit on the half way line???

not many times did marv or sammy push into the box, which playing against a team that is so poor in there league is very dissapointing

both bigi and anita played way to defensive, never joined the attack

do you really think we are asking for this??

the line up suggested way more than we got,,

    pitch fork to the ready

  • 17 toonarmydownsouth // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:31 PM

Just out of intrest who’s our fitness coach? Cos he needs sacking a few of the lads look to struggle past 65-70 mins and a couple jist look plain tubby especially wor fat stevie

  • 18 Conaldo (The Wizard...Also Bestest Friends With Paul Scharner) // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:31 PM

Ill be back in 20 mins to talk. On way home at the minute.

  • 19 BelfastMagpie // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:32 PM

We lost our mojo when Ben Arfa went off in my opinion.

Turning in some awful performances,at the minute.

But I wouldnt blame it all on Pardew.
Ashley & Llambias spending nowt, and certain players playing crap has a lot to do with it too.

  • 20 hoppernufc // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:33 PM

We were shite when arfa was on the pitch aswell

  • 21 toonking // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:33 PM

their has only been one mistake made by pardew this season and that was when he played jonas in CDM but then again most fans were whinging for him to do that so you could say it is those fans fault for complain in the first place

  • 22 toonarmydownsouth // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:33 PM

Ffs lad dont twist it i said we got the line up/formation we wanted i never said the performance was what we wanted

  • 23 Toon1978 // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:33 PM

Feel sorry for Pardew having to put up with them greedy twats at the top.

  • 24 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:33 PM

    right i agree

what about the coaching of these players??

if with our first 11, no injuries, everyone fit,, why do we not play football?
    that first 11, is a good 11,

pardew is a defensive manager, a NEGATIVE manager

  • 25 Mister Tuff // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:34 PM

Munster Mag – I accuse you of being a copycat doing Pardew impressions. I did his “post ten game review” sometime ago. You need to find your own material/ideas.

  • 26 BelfastMagpie // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:35 PM

Good to see Catchy sticking to his promise & not mentioning Pardew out anymore. 🙂

  • 27 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:36 PM

you said it as if ,, ffs sake he is gving us what we want,,

most weeks he gaves us the team we want,, just not the football,,

your hisbiggest fan, so please explain why he refuses to play football

  • 28 toonarmydownsouth // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:37 PM

Im not his biggest fan why cos i dont want the manager sacked??
The players for me are the ones that arent delivering

  • 29 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:37 PM

    BelfastMagpie 😉

    sorry but after watching that,,

his sacking carnt come quick enough

he had a great opertunity to really have ago a apoor team, and didnt, and it feels like a loss

  • 30 toonarmydownsouth // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:38 PM

My bad shippopi is on at 11 on FX you might just make it!

  • 31 stuart no9 // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:38 PM

too many injured players- too many young players- as someone else said ” bigi jumping up a league – it was raining – it was windy- it was dark – their goalkeeper played – any other excuses lads we could use to justify a team that cant win a game for toffee , that are getting worse and worse by the game. get your excuses ready for sunday! ive got mine already!

  • 32 BelfastMagpie // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:38 PM

I thought we were ok first half.
    [not great]

The second half was bloody awful like.

  • 33 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:39 PM

maybe its the players trying to make a point like chelsea last year then,
    maybe they dont want him,,

it sure as hell looks like it

  • 34 chris // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:40 PM

another poor performance sammy just not good enough marv besides goal was poor the players that came on not good enough besides ba and he didont have a great second half they passed the ball better we lost the ball to much poor all over the pitch lucky not to loose at the end what next

  • 35 NUFC FOR SALE // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:40 PM

The biggest issue we have had this season was the lack of ambition shown in the last transfer window.

And I don’t mean just the players who could have been playing in the team…much much more important than that is the effect a strong transfer window has on the team/squad.

Newcastle United already had a really really good team……the issue is that without then pushing on for the following season the squad goes flat.

this is exactly what has happened with this team….Cabaye is prime example……he hasn’t looked the same player since he thought his mate Debeachy was coming only to find he wasn’t.

The statement of intent has a huge impact on your existing players.

I think we can get that back if we were to buy Debeachy and a few others in Jan but will that happen??? and will we be too far off the pace by then?? i suspect we will.

  • 36 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:41 PM

up until we scored, then just sat back

and thats not to say we where great,

both bigi and anita played way to deep

  • 37 toonarmydownsouth // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:43 PM

If that was even half true i’d want them out the door soon after pards

  • 38 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:43 PM

    silly question

    new signings

should these be the ones we needed in the summer, or the ones to replace the injured players now??

  • 39 santonthenewmaldini // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:43 PM

Was not going to go on the blog cause i know it was going to be a riot!!

We were poor tonight yes but get ready for it ITS GOING TO GET WORSE!!!

No Cisse and No Arfa Southampton could pound us the way we are playing

Sorry to say but Krul’s kicking is costing us big time every game he kicks it long every time he gets we lose it then the other team comes onto us Maritimo will be gutted that they did not show more ambition as they would probably have beat us if they had belief from the start

  • 40 LargeSadMenace // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:44 PM

    nufc for sale

    well said, totally agree

  • 41 davis_toons // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:45 PM

Martin Jol should be the man thats get the 8 years contract.
He might not specks better then AP during the interview, but he defo have better technical abilities.

  • 42 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:46 PM

    take your pick
    iether he carnt motivate
    there not playing for him

this has been since the start of the season, not just 1 or 2 matches,

we can all see something is wrong,, and no its not signings,, the squad is good enough to show us better than this, may be its good enough to compete with the top 4
but west ham at home,, 100%

  • 43 BelfastMagpie // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:49 PM

Do people honestly believe,They’ll splash the cash in January? lol

    I certainly dont.

    They should do,but they wont.

  • 44 LargeSadMenace // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:50 PM

The first team is good enough, the squad isn’t. It really is down to signings and this combined with Pardew’s inability to motivate players who are probably disheartened by a lack of ambition at board level before a ball was even kicked this season.

  • 45 davis_toons // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:50 PM

Really didint want AP to get the 8 years contracts. Not with his current way of training or coaching.

Cant see any movement or such.

  • 46 Mister Tuff // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:50 PM

NUFC @#35 -agree 100% -should have bought in the summer. still think we will be active in January -including Debuchy.
The non buying gamble by the toughie negotiators appears to be going to backfire spectacularly. Clearly this was not down to AP. Also throws into doubt somewhat Dastardlys’ purple policy and the list of seven alternative players per position.

  • 47 LargeSadMenace // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:51 PM

Belfast-no I don’t either, but as long as we advertise Mike’s company to a few european teams and stay just above the water in the PL then hey ho, why does he need to spend?

  • 48 hoppernufc // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:53 PM

Should of kept best, was very underrated I think and held the ball well, never replaced him

  • 49 Tsunki // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:53 PM

That boy is… aww dammit this is not working.

Wow. We drew 1’s each playing a so-so european style side with an experimantal team full of reserves. We are going down.

Like I always say, get a grip and lower your expectations. I am sure it will come good despite the most fervent wishes of some that it all caves in so that pards can get sacked.

At best we can say its been a middling to dull season but this was always likely to happen, I really think we are still riding the learning wave of Ashley and his pals, I am sure they dont want their investment poured down the pan. I expect a signing or two in jan, but the miracle bus isnt going to be here then so brace up and hope the injury list shortens and/or that these reservists learn quick from their (invaluable) european excursion.

  • 50 Novocastrian66 // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:55 PM

Belfast. Agree with you mate. We will not sign more than one top player in Jan if any.

  • 51 Tsunki // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:55 PM

Hoppernufc – Yes Best would have been great, oh, wait, where is he at the moment…….?

  • 52 catchy in norway // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:56 PM

  • 53 LargeSadMenace // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:58 PM

we should never have sold Nolan, Barton and Carroll

  • 54 stuart no9 // Nov 22, 2012 at 10:59 PM

toonking @ 21 ah so its the fans fault we are shite????? never thought of that one , i;ll put that in my little book of excuses —— blame the fans. got it !

  • 55 hoppernufc // Nov 22, 2012 at 11:00 PM

Tsunki- what’s your point? Also a team of reserves? Bigi is the only player who started who could be considered as a reserve so you dunno what your talking about

  • 56 Santon03 // Nov 22, 2012 at 11:01 PM

Okay that’s it. I’m not going to watch this team play again. It’s too frustrating to watch, I got angry every time. I know the routine : Sh!tty game, AP blame someone, AP makes excuses, AP says “there some positives to take from that game”. Like I said everything is predictable, AP is too predictable.
I don’t want to sound like Abramovic, but definitely sack him before it gets much much worse. I have tried to be supportive long enough, but this is just too much for me to take.

  • 57 nezzatoonmad // Nov 22, 2012 at 11:05 PM

here’s a thought WHO THE HELL WOULD WANT TO COME TO NEWCASTLE THE WAY WE’VE BEEN PLAYING, by the next transfer market NEWCASTLE will be sitting in the bottom 3 and who would come to a team like ours just to ovoid relegation, 60 billion to 1 that ASHLEY will only sign free transfers and i don’t mean SISSOKO type players who’s contracts are running out, i mean old players maybe between 29-33 who sit on 1k-2k a week or less

  • 58 nezzatoonmad // Nov 22, 2012 at 11:09 PM

hey why dont we get DI MATTEO LOL

  • 59 stuart no9 // Nov 22, 2012 at 11:10 PM

santon- toonking @ 21 blames the fans for us being shite. ha ha .

  • 60 jonobbad // Nov 22, 2012 at 11:19 PM

Er pardew is the manager. If the players are not playing well it is down to him to fix it.
Same in any job. If my staff wasn’t performing, I’d be the one getting a rollicking, and if I told my boss it’s cos the staff were not doing well I’d probably get my p45 very soon.
I can’t make the players play better and neither can any of you. Only pardew can.

  • 61 jonobbad // Nov 22, 2012 at 11:25 PM

I Love it when people say lower your expectations and get a grip.
Is it really too much to expect us to beat a team like
Maritimo at home? Or west ham? or Swansea?
    I don’t think it is.
