Newcastle’s Tabloid Star Thanks Fans For Support

Danny Simpson played again for Newcastle last night, in what was his 123 rd appearance for the Magpies since joining the club on loan in the summer of 2009, following our relegation, and then signing on permanently for about £500K from Manchester United in January of 2010.

Danny Simpson – thanks fans

And Danny has been another very good buy for the club, and he was given support last night by the small crowd at st. James’ Park – just over 21,000 – in a Europa League Group D match against Maritimo, which we drew 1-1 and qualified for the knock out stages of the competition, although our second half performance last night, after we went 1-0 up through a good goal from Sylvain Marveaux after 23 minutes – was abysmal.

This is what Danny said in the local press today about the Geordie fans:

“ “They are class. They always stick up for you. They are top fans.” The papers are the papers and they say what they want. But everybody around me knows the truth.” “Sometimes when all of that is going on around you, it is the best time to play football.”

“You go on the pitch and you can forget about everything.” “If anything, in the last couple of games I have really enjoyed it.” “I feel like I am getting back to my old self from last season.” “I am pretty pleased with that.”

The Sun and other tabloid papers have been reporting on his affair with X-Factor judge and N-Dubz singer Tulisa Contostavlos, even though his girlfriend has just become pregnant with their second child, after giving birth in the summer of last year to their first child – a baby daughter they named Skye.
