Do you reckon any of the players even turn up to training ? Or there might not be any training… Seems that way

  • 2 Puppet Pardew // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:14 PM

    Missed them both…

  • 3 Gateshead-Mag // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:15 PM

2 things that are infuriating me, ba and cisse STILL being played in a front 2. and pardews blind loyalty to jonas, he was in-affectice AGAIN yet anita was the one to get subbed our most productive player on the day

really starting to get p****d off now something has to change

  • 4 Rowan Milsted // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:15 PM

    Positives:

We played well for about 8 minutes at the start.

For about 2 and a half seconds Cisse looked like his old self.

Simmo put 3 decent crosses into the box in a row, taking his season statistics up to… 3.

    Negatives:

What’s the point? We all have two eyes and brain. IMO our worst run of form since the 08-09 season. Please, please turn things around Pards and co. HWTL.

    abysmal

  • 6 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:16 PM

Gotta say that was probably the worse tactically shamble I have seen in a long time (and there have been a few this season)

…after 30 min. it looked like Pardew had given on on the game already! And the subs again…was…well we all know how they were!

I am struggling to find some positive to take from this game – hope there is some?

  • 7 mattyNUFC // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:16 PM

    what’s that saying?

can’t teach a sh** manager new tactics? or dog er something er other…..

  • 8 Sinner // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:16 PM

Tbf,Pardew needs his fair share of criticisms , im not calling for him to be sack but the fact is we’ve been poor since the start of the season and showing no sign of improving and also if it wasn’t for Ben Arfa,we would be sitting quite comfortably in the relegation zone.Im afraid if it goes on like this,we’ll probably lose our best players in the next transfer market and head towards relegation! And no this is not a knee jerk reaction, been on my mind the last few weeks now!

  • 9 archaeomag // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:16 PM

Well, I guess it’s time to buy a new team and get a new manager – discuss

  • 10 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:18 PM

Rowan listed a few, but I am not sure how to use them in the next games to come :)

  • 11 Ginger // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:18 PM

What an absolute shamble of a game, Pardew is hands down an awful manager. As for those who stick up for him, you’s really need to give your head a wobble.

What the hell is up with the CONSTANT 4-4-2? It barley ever works, absolutely pathetic. Ba and Cisse cannot and NEVER will be able to work together properly, so drop one of them.

Switch to 4-3-3, were a hell of a lot better in it.

Simpson, Williamson, Cisse and Guttierez are absolutely shite these days.

He replaced our BEST player on the pitch with Marveaux, why the hell not replace Ba, Cisse of Guttierez. Absolutely pathetic.

And to top it off when were getting beat 2-0 in the 90th minute, he friggin takes off Steven Taylor for perch. What a f***ing idiot.

Pardew OUT! Promote Peter Beardsley to manager, the reserves play far better then our first team.

  • 12 Spellcheck // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:18 PM

Can’t bare 2 watch Again, utter rubbish. Of course we miss Ben arfa,Cabaye & collo but stickin with 4 4 2,especially with Ba & Cisse in team simply isnt working. Very sad Performance!!!!!! Roll on wed against stoke…… NOT!!

@ Captain Lemon – you are repeating yourself!

  • 14 Conaldo (The Wizard...Also Bestest Friends With Paul Scharner) // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:19 PM

We will never be a top club with mike Ashley in charge.
We are and will be a mid table club. Mid table clubs finish between 15th and 5th.

Like Fulham really. We will be around mid table and every now and then we will suprise our selves and get Europe or a cup run. Maybes win something.

With Ashley and lambias at the top, we can’t become a top top team.

Some people need to realise that, and once they do, we can push on. We need to establish ourselves as a top half team. Then we push on.

  • 15 stuart no9 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:19 PM

RDM out of work! what a waste- or a straight swap for o’neill?

  • 16 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:20 PM

archaeomag…team is fine (we probably still need 2 or 3 players like we did in the summer)

…it is not the players we have that’s the problem, it’s how we utilize them and our tactics.

We can all see what lesser teams does with so called lesser players.

  • 17 Indian Magpie // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:20 PM

We wouldn’t be picking up points in league 2. I hope we don’t lose too many players when we go down so we can get promoted in the first season.

  • 22 Vex // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:22 PM

Threads move so fast these days.

Nono, I think you don’t see it the same way. Santon provides a spark, we have no confidence, no creativity, and no motivation, watching Santon at least tells me HE hasn’t given up, even though the rest of the team has. Any player who shows some fighting spirit and can try to create a spark deserves Man of the match, as noone else did.

Anita when played in a more forward midfield position, caused problems, he was playing really well there if I do say so myself, and I thought he was getting into fantastic positions, but ofcourse, he get’s subbed.

  • 23 Tsunki // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:22 PM

OOOh been waiting to see that timmy spill again.

thought we had a bit of a spell at the start of the second too. Simmo should not be allowed past the half way line. Anita actually is a plus visibly getting better. Sammy cant pass. Jonas not match fit. Tiote tried hard and never gave up. Ba and Cisse positioned badly most of the time. It isnt the tactics except insofar as how this mismatched bunch of players mess around with it.

    repost –
I thought a draw but no surprise we lost, what can we expect, inferior team with little experience and I am afraid to say when we revert to constant long balls every team we play against just groups 3 players around it and wins it back. Plus we dont trust the midfield to pass it around. Hang on until jan and the regulars start coming back. I dont get the perch thing either mind, its neither a good runout or a player who will spark 2 goals unless he is protecting someone for the stoke game.

Alan – park the bus next game.

  • 24 stuart no9 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:22 PM

conaldo @ 14 have you just sussed that out?????

  • 25 boater // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:22 PM

Something is obviously amiss. But it’s amusing how many people have latched on to the Ba/Cisse conundrum as being the central issue. It’s not, trust me. You can have a successful team that carries an out-of-form striker until they find the net. The ball is not arriving at the strikers in a way that allows for anything other than a wonder goal – which have dried up, inevitably.

The problem is not Simpson – he’s a middling fullback nothing special but not the problem by a long stretch. The problem is not Williamson – a decent enough central squad defender.

The problem is in midfield. There is an old saying ( I just made up) when you concede lots of goals – your defense is at fault. When you don’t score, look at the strikers. When you are generally shite with no shape, guile or imagination – it’s your midfield.

The only reason the Ba/Cisse is relevant is because it might influence the way Pardew sorts out an effective way to organise his midfield. I’d start by putting Obertan in ahead of Guti.. as much as I have a soft spot for Jonas.

    Ginger @ 11
    Second that!

  • 27 Rotonda heights // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:23 PM

There’s something very wrong in the state of Denmark

    Most long balls played
    Almost lowest goal scorers
    Worst set play record
    No away wins

The penny just never drops with Pardew that Ba and Cisse never works in a 442. That’s over 25 games this buffoon hasn’t changed this god awful clueless hoof ball s..t to 2 big target men.

Nothing to do with injuries or fatigue just a rubbish system v 3 recently promoted teams, 2 of those at home.

Pardew has been seriously found out, just like his second season at West Ham. It’s Mullins and Harewood over tevez ad Mascherano all over again.

Last year 5th – that was then, this is now. It just proves Pardew is not consistently good. Luck and stumbling on 433 were his biggest breaks but the idiot has turned his back on it and to me suggests we did well in spite of him not because if him last season.

Do we ever practice passing the ball!!!!!!!!!!

Guess we’re stuck with it as it seems ashley doesn’t particularly want us but doesn’t seem to want anyone else too either.

but last year we were told, look at the table man,, who cares if we play poor,, we are 5th

i am so pissed right now,, how many more weeks should we give him???

  • 29 archaeomag // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:24 PM

@ Captain Lemon – I wish I thought it was that simple, you can’t blame the manager for poor touches and misplaced passes, – too much dwelling on the ball.
It is the curse of Europe, or W@nga. .

  • 30 sula // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:25 PM

Pathetic performance if any of you think pardew i the right man for this club you need your heads checked. I have never seen such lazy useless football. Injuries get on with it you have a few players out and you pardew have made your players believe without these few stars you still cant go out and give a 100 percent cause thats what the fans what 100 percent every game if you lose after that i doubt many will have any excuses. We havent scored from set pieces this season how can we every league in the world knows who you aiming for Williamson bloody hell pardew is that the best you can come up with what is your game plan your players are scared to make a tackle. I am tired of your nonsense pack your bags and get out.

Lallana another player we were once linked with, he plays the role Marveaux should be playing. We are a shambles, and unfortunately this season reminds me of the relegation one

Our youngsters aren’t good enough really.

We see them all the time, and see glimpses of great football in some of them, but are they ready?

In my opinion, they aren’t. Not yet. They can be introduced slowly, in moderation, but we can’t expect them to win games for us.

Stoke on Wednesday away…. Jesus, who am I trying to kid, I will be surprised if we play better than today’s performance. The players need a rocket up their arse and get out of this vile run of form and that needs to come from AP!

  • 35 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:26 PM

boater….in the first half we had zero shots on target and one off target, when that’s the case you don’t deploy two forwards side by side; you need to create enough chances to warrant two forwards that’s football 101!

we all have soft spots for guti. he’s a club legend. but sentiment doesn’t play much into the way i think, especially now

and i agree about the MF. but how can they get into the game when strikers are making awful runs….with two holding CMs (atrocious asking Anita who’s been a defender his whole life to suddenly carry our attacking intent)….and that’s if the ball, like 90% of the time, hasn’t been hoofed over the MF’s heads

  • 38 lordy_geordie // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:27 PM

I have not commented on the blog in a while but I feel I need to have my say. I am getting increasingly fed up with the results just like all of you.
I still will not blame Pardew 100%.
I never wanted him as the manager but he won me over with how well we did last season. For me the blam (majority) has to be with Ashley, he refused to pay for Debuchy, or a decent center half. He refused us money for a striker as well.
Tell me what team would do well with the injuries we have had to key players?
Look at liverpool without Suarez or Gerrard?
We lose Benny, and Cabaye. These have great creativity but if you take the creative tools from a team then it’s very difficult to create chances.
Maybe Pardew is stuck in his ways with tactics but I believe we should make signings in January, possibly Sissoko, Debuchy, a center half and a striker (wont hold my breath) but if then we are still struggling maybe it is time for a change. Every team has a bad patch we just need to ride ours out.

he could buy messi and still tell them to hoof it. That is his one tactic

  • 41 toonking // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:30 PM

cofidence play a big part in form and right from the start of the season we have lost more and more.
firstly not strengthening the squad meaning we only have a starting 11 looses confince as pardew will be cautious as to how careful we are in the most phsical league.
secondly their is high pressure on the players to achieve what was a greater than expected achievement last season
thirdly now that we forcing players in who are still young they have lots of pressure put on them because they know that it is easy to blame them for bad team performances
so these have started causing losses and that has dropped confidence greatly.
from the chelsea loss we went on a bad run last year.

  • 42 IndonesiaToon // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:30 PM

    @boater

in this modern era of football… LB / RB must have a good instict of scoring… swing a pass… but not to forget their main job to defend / preventing opp’s wingers…

ours? Santon n Simpson… try to compare them both… most of opp’s creation start from our right flank…

I’m trying to stick with backing Pardew, the likes off Marveaux, gosling, ranger, Simpson, Williamson, Obertan are all not good enough. Cisse needs service, so no service equals us effectively having a useless striker on the pitch. No quality in depth, lack of flair, lack of pace, youngsters being over hyped, etc confidence makes a huge difference in football, but I feel Pardew had lost the dressing room

stuart no 9 – your absolutely right but for most that’s not possible – but we need to make the FCB aware of what we think of him , can you believe those muppets who think hes doing a good job , well run club and all that bollox

  • 50 breno95 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:41 PM

Will play at being devils advocate on here:-
Those who are all so adamant that they fully know Mike Ashleys remit for the club is that because you all have regular in depth conversations with the man and he tells you everything? I don’t think so. You see a run of poor displays and results and it’s all blame the owner. Is he responsible for picking and leading a team. No!
As for the comments re the squad. Please get the comments right. The squad is not ‘small’. The issue is the quality of players in it.
As for today, we were only 3 players short of 1st 11.
The game today was lost before a ball was kicked. The comments from the manager in the press were a disgrace. Quoting that they are all tired and playing mid week is too much. That’s shocking from a manager. I posted yesterday the manager needed to prepare them mentally. He failed big time. As for losing days training due to Europa is rubbish also. Players are paid to play and any player will tell you they prefer games to training so again another load of rubbish from the manager.
It’s obvious to me there us a degree of disharmony within the ranks which is the problem. Has AP lost a key section of the squad? He may well have and if this is the reason then a change is needed. If not ge needs to take charge and stop accommodating players. We also lack a leader on the field of play.
Defeats are acceptable if there is a degree of effort and commitment. If not then supporters have a right to voice their displeasure.
As for those on here who claim some posters are not real fans is one bug bear for me. Just because some posters may not have been to a match does not discount them. Those who do have opportunities to go to a game are no more a fan.
Next 2-3 games are now a real test of the manager but like I said above I feel that there is unrest in the squad and he may have lost the backing of key players. If not he needs to get his balls back and rally the troops to do better but I fear he does not have that in him unlike a certain Mr Ferguson who simply does not allow for failure and the current squad of Man Utd is not fantastic. The difference there is AF wont allow a drop in effort full stop no matter who the player maybe.
Fingers crossed I am wrong as a change in manager would have an adverse effect IMO and there is not many available. One person who would instill a winning mentality is a certain Roy Keane but not many on here would go for that.
Stoke next and here’s for a win.

  • 51 lordy_geordie // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:44 PM

Sula I do agree with you to a certain degree.
We were so potent last season using a 3 pronged attack but Ba spits his dummy out and Pardew wants to keep him happy. It is obvious Ba had his ego battered by Cisse and Pardew wants to keep as many of his players as happy as possible. Not saying it is right and I would prefer a 3 pronged flowing attack.

1 it was the worst business decision of his career buying NUFC
2 he will sell as soon as he can get his money back
3 he has no interest in the club whatsoever

  • 55 sula // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:51 PM

LORDY mate i hear what you are saying but he cant continue to worry about Ba and cisse no man is bigger then the club thats why if we have a big name manager he can keep the lid on this utter nonsense these celeb players are taking us right back to that forbidden relegation battle and we all know thats not a place we want to spend most of the season trying to get out from. if the squad dont want to play then something has to change. smaller teams are performing alot better then we are and that goes to show it can be done.

  • 56 Robinio // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:53 PM

Sula – yes I am coming round to that view but what the F*** could the best manager in the world do with those 2 jokers in charge , for sure when he said recently he was still aiming for CL I thought you stupid twat , tell it as it is . • 58 sula // Nov 25, 2012 at 6:02 PM

ROBINIO , mate i am honestly worried about what will happen to us after last season and we were lucky in alot of games last season one would have thought you go into the new season spirits high but just the opposite. Now if the manager is saying to the press that its hard europe and prem and injuries what do you think the players will do for you on sundays they are spoilt prats who just wait for the week to end to get paid. Did you see the passing today i am sorry but we were taught a great lesson by southampton on how to pass the ball today and we havent been able to pass the ball all season. thats the basics so i would drop these drama queens who think they are to big for the club and bring players who want to play cause there players who are cheap and will play for the love of the game. Look and west brom mate look at their squad so it can be done. I love this club and my blood boils when i see what is happening.

  • 59 Robinio // Nov 25, 2012 at 6:08 PM

Sula – me too mate , my blood has been boiling pretty much since the FCB took over and started dismantling things , we are a huge club and we wont even compete in the transfer market with the like of Fulham , Stoke , and even the SMB’s . I think Pardews hands have been tied but he’s now being affected by the Ashley cancer . Problem is there is F*** all we can do about it other than make our views known

  • 60 SouthCoastToonFan // Nov 25, 2012 at 6:10 PM

I am really becoming disillusioned with this club! It is so frustrating as everything is there for us to be one of the biggest and best in the country! We have a great stadium, great fans who would guarantee 50000+ every home game and a great football heritage. We are massively let down by an owner who couldn’t care less about the club, Llambas who seems more concerned with making money and doing everything to belittle the club at every opportunity and a manager who seems completely clueless. I would like to add that I have never been in favour of this regime or the appointment of Pardew. At the moment I hope we get relegated in that it might force that fat c**t Ashly to sell so we can get a proper owner who cares about football and more importantly Newcastle United FC in!

robinio @59 i just wish that some fans could just stay away from the ground for 1-2 maybe 3 games. let this owner of ours know we have had enough, so sell up or we stay away , end of. it dosnt take much.
