  • 4 Vex // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:08 PM

Santon, Anita [No idea why he was subbed off] pretty much the only players who turned up today. Guti… ugh… He offered nothing whatsoever in the entirety of the game, I’ll never know why he was on for 90 mins.

What an absolute shamble of a game, Pardew is hands down an awful manager. As for those who stick up for him, you’s really need to give your head a wobble.

What the hell is up with the CONSTANT 4-4-2? It barley ever works, absolutely pathetic. Ba and Cisse cannot and NEVER will be able to work together properly, so drop one of them.

Switch to 4-3-3, were a hell of a lot better in it.

Simpson, Williamson, Cisse and Guttierez are absolutely shite these days.

He replaced our BEST player on the pitch with Marveaux, why the hell not replace Ba, Cisse of Guttierez. Absolutely pathetic.

And to top it off when were getting beat 2-0 in the 90th minute, he friggin takes off Steven Taylor for perch. What a f***ing idiot.

Pardew OUT! Promote Peter Beardsley to manager, the reserves play far better then our first team.

What a mess and I think Alan has ruined that suit – it’s the curse of W@nga . .

  • 13 El Tino // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:10 PM

watching the safety car was better than watching newcastle today. in fact all season.

  • 14 stuart no9 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:10 PM

    your having a laugh ed.

  • 15 Toon1978 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:10 PM

Sorry, i can’t vote for any of them. Pardew needs to realise Sammy is not ready. Simpson and i bag of utter horse manure and thats being nice. Williamson…OMG.

  • 16 CisseIsALegend // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:11 PM

We can’t do anything….. Pardew can’t even admit he’s wrong and that is what’s killing us. If he doesn’t admit that we’re playing shit we won’t change the way were playing. He’s just like “blah blah blah injuries blah wah blah”

  • 17 89Norcal // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:11 PM

If you see this, just wanted to say thanks for the tip, mate. I’ll see you and the other level headed readers after 10.

First cean sheet for Southampton…says it all really.

  • 19 Nufc-83 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:12 PM

hard to disagree with that post tbh Ginger. Whos the clown who voted for simmo.

  • 20 toonarmydownsouth // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:13 PM

Tbf niether fergie or sammy should be on the starting 11 of that team sheet on matchday when marvs on the bench there both promising but both need to go out on loan

  • 21 darrenfletcher88 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:13 PM

    Realy edd?? Blog is pap

  • 22 Dannyo // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:13 PM

If u’re gonna rant, do so with facts. We went 4-3-3 with 30 mins left to play, did it help u think?
Donachie is the reserve team manager, not Beardsley, Beardsley does youth setup in general and some youth scouting .
Saylor went off with what was belived to be a sligth knock, or atleast suggested it was.

  • 23 archaeomag // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:13 PM

@ Vex + TDS – Agree Anita looked very good at the beginning of second half playing further forward.

  • 24 El Tino // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:14 PM

shane ferguson not ready. needs a season at a crap club like southampton

  • 25 lordjoesnow // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:14 PM

Santon didnt get back, we often saw Guti filling in for him in defence. Cant see why he has so many votes. He’s an attack minded player yet our attacks were dire… Steven Taylor was the only choice. However, as he has been captain recently (not sure if Guti took it from him today) he should be doing more on the pitch to raise the performance of the team!!!

  • 26 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:15 PM

Gotta say that was probably the worse tactically shamble I have seen in a long time (and there have been a few this season)

…after 30 min. it looked like Pardew had given on on the game already! And the subs again…was…well we all know how they were!

I am struggling to find some positive to take from this game – hope there is some?

  • 27 Tsunki // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:15 PM

I thought a draw but no surprise we lost, what can we expect, inferior team with little experience and I am afraid to say when we revert to constant long balls every team we play against just groups 3 players around it and wins it back. Plus we dont trust the midfield to pass it around. Hang on until jan and the regulars start coming back. I dont get the perch thing either mind, its neither a good runout or a player who will spark 2 goals unless he is protecting someone for the stoke game.

Alan – park the bus next game.

  • 28 Toon1978 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:16 PM

Pardews hands are tide. Can’t you see that. He has a sh1t load of injuries and he has a board so tight that water wouldn’t seep through Ashley’s pockets. WTF can we expect of him. He has lost 3 in a row for the first time since he took over. We need stability at this club and sacking Pardew is not the answer. LOOK, Ahley had the chance to push us on in the summer but we FAILED AGAIN. Not sack Pardew…..SACK THE BOARD.

  • 29 OhSholaAmeobi // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:16 PM

Felt sorry for tiote and anita. Injuries are no excuse for performances like that, other than the personnel not being good enough. About the 10th time i’ve said it but I never want to see williamson in the team again, and please oh please put gutierrez at full back. Why didn’t marveaux start?

  • 30 IndonesiaToon // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:16 PM

that’ll leave AP with this option:
how will you choose ur team?

    1. Tim Krul
    5. Danny Simpson
    6. Mike Williamson
    8. Vurnon Anita
    9. Papiss Cisse
    17. Romain Amalfitano
    18. Jonas Gutierrez
    19. Demba Ba
    21. Rob Elliot
    22. Sylvain Marveaux
    27. Steven Taylor
    37. Steve Harper
    3. Davide Santon
    20. Gael Bigirimana
    28. Sammy Ameobi
    31. Shane Ferguson
    34. James Tavernier
    39. Mehdi Abeid
    42. Jak Alnwick

  • 31 stuart no9 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:17 PM

how about RDM.. or a straight swap for o’neill ????????

  • 32 Conaldo (The Wizard...Also Bestest Friends With Paul Scharner) // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:17 PM

We will never be a top club with mike Ashley in charge.
We are and will be a mid table club. Mid table clubs finish between 15th and 5th.

Like Fulham really. We will be around mid table and every now and then we will suprise our selves and get Europe or a cup run. Maybes win something.

With Ashley and lambias at the top, we can’t become a top top team.

Some people need to realise that, and once they do, we can push on. We need to establish ourselves as a top half team. Then we push on.

  • 33 OhSholaAmeobi // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:17 PM

Do you not see the irony in saying ‘sack the board?’

  • 34 toonicle // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:17 PM

Crap once again. He plays Ba and Cisse up front for a 4-4-2 yet again even though it never works.

  • 35 nico // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:17 PM

Who thinks we will go down this season?

  • 36 nezzatoonmad // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:20 PM

well ive sold my season ticket today for £250 and also won my bet £75 on sky bet and i also have NEWCASTLE to be relegated on a £10 bet to 250-1 since the beginning of the season and its looking good for next year im also considering making bets on who goes as-well im thinking all our so call star players, PARDEW wont be sacked and ASHLEY wont sell out

  • 37 Vex // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:20 PM

Nono, I think you don’t see it the same way. Santon provides a spark, we have no confidence, no creativity, and no motivation, watching Santon at least tells me HE hasn’t given up, even though the rest of the team has. Any player who shows some fighting spirit and can try to create a spark deserves Man of the match, as noone else did.

Anita when played in a more forward midfield position, caused problems, he was playing really well there if I do say so myself, and I thought he was getting into fantastic positions, but ofcourse, he get’s subbed.

  • 38 nezzatoonmad // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:23 PM

maybe we should sack PARDEW and have CARVER as a manager hes an attacking coach and highly remembered by us toon fans

  • 39 joeytoon // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:23 PM

i will say it again we got away with murder last season ,too much mediocrity in the squad, it was obvious to a blind man on a galloping horse that we needed3/4 quality players just to stand still ,let alone progress, simpson, williamson ,obertan have proved time and time again that they are not prem standard, ferguson is hitty missy, sammy and the rest of the kids simply arent either good enough or ready,PLEASE dont blame the extra burden of european games, ive not heard of first team regulars getting tired from watching football on telly ,thats what most of them have done for the majority of games, are we the only prem league team in europe??? ,oh i forgot we cant even see them now because they are all in the TOP half of the league ,i will say it again man utd ,city chelsea, arsenal spurs all have european commitments but all strengthened, because they at least have a clue what they are doing,

  • 40 nezzatoonmad // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:26 PM

ANITA and SANTON impressed me today why dont we try putting SANTON on the wing to see how he goes, hes got the ability to cross and cut inside and ANITA as a attacking midfield

  • 41 stuart no9 // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:29 PM

tsunki@27 ” most” of us knew we would get beat today!

  • 42 nezzatoonmad // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:30 PM

spot on mate ive been saying this myself for a while now and no1 seems to want to listen

  • 43 nico // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:31 PM

Pards said he would love Lallana to come but Carr told him he wasn’t good enough. Well I disagree, thought he was better than any of our players

  • 44 blew // Nov 25, 2012 at 5:32 PM

One of the worst performances Ive seen and Soton hit the woodwork 3 times, also had a decent goal disallowed. Voted for Anita, the worst player on the pitch was Jonas, in 59 years of watching the Toon, Ive never seen a player play so badly week in and automatically be selected. Ive heard of non playing Captains in golf and tennis, but fooball! Jonas is a 1st

  • 45 GeordieGerman // Nov 25, 2012 at 6:03 PM

Yeah, who was the best player? I can’t think of on who had a memorable moment… !

  • 46 newcrapastle // Nov 25, 2012 at 6:18 PM

what it going on? keep cabaye, ben arfa, tiote, santon, collichini, krul…and then sack everyone else, cisse and ba have bad control and clumsy touches, there both good finishers but offer the samething, playing those two upfront is just as effective as playing one of them, it makes no difference. None of are players have a movement, rarely does are midfield link with the strikers, all are goals are basically can ben arfa dribble it around an entire team and score? nobody seems to like being passed to, everyone shy’s away from the ball, krul boots it off the pitch to much, ba and cisse never win any long balls…. i couldnt count the amount of passes made, becuase there wasn’t any. I think pardew needs a fresh approach or be sacked, gutierezexz needs to be dropped or moved to full back, gutierezrerz offers nothing, defensivly he’s weak, attaking wise he’s nonexistent, he wins maybe one free kick and kicks the ball off the pitch.

    a fit team…

santon coll need another cb fergusan

    cabaye tiote anita

ben arfa need another wide player

sack ba and cisse and get another striker

  • 47 lee1892 // Nov 25, 2012 at 6:21 PM

Anita finally shows promise and is taken off when Guti done nothing all! Font understand it. Also why start fergie over sammy/ marveaux?????

  • 48 moonraker // Nov 25, 2012 at 7:50 PM

Best player? who cares, they were ALL crap. Anita just doesn’t have it; Cisse is proving to be a huge disappointment and he and Ba don’t get proper service because we dont build from midfield, where there is no quality. We have no width! agghh I could go on and on! By the way I predicted this result after that pathetic effort against Maritimo! We need a huge injection of quality in January or we could be relegated this season !!

  • 49 Ketsbaia9 // Nov 25, 2012 at 10:33 PM

We’re doing really well this season. If we keep Williamson and Simpson in the side and don’t get relegated i’d be extremely surprised.

  • 50 ronjohno // Nov 25, 2012 at 11:00 PM

Really wish you would stop this “best player” malarky after every game when it is obvious they were all rubbish.
A pointless exercise – pointless being the appropriate word.
To all the Williamson and Simpson supporters can I just simply ask WHY???
Four points off a relegation place- Injuries cannot excuse everything.
