Depressing News Regarding Yohan Cabaye And Steven Taylor

3:44 pm, Tuesday, November 27th, 2012 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 32 Comments

It’s all bad news at the moment at Newcastle, and unfortunately Alan Pardew has come out today and said that he thinks Yohan Cabaye and Steven Taylor will both be out until February 1st, and that’s longer than we had first been told in  the initial prognosis on the players.

Oh no!!

Yohan Cabaye – out until February now

Alan Pardew held his press conference today and he had some more depressing news on both of our top players – starting with Steven Taylor, who has a hamstring injury:

“He’s cursing his luck a little, but unfortunately for Steven, his record is that he does pick up injuries. Maybe the fact that we have had to call upon him more than perhaps we would like with the injuries and Colo’s suspension has probably compounded the issue.”

“Cabaye had one side of his groin done and that caused a potential weakness in the other side, so that needs to be done.”  “That will be done, I think, on Tuesday or Wednesday and he will probably be out for eight weeks.

“We are probably looking at 1 February for both him and Steven, so we might as well get the bad news out of the way, because that’s what it is, and just focus on what is important, and that’s what we have got left.”

Steven Taylor has become injury prone over the last three years,  which is even more reason why Newcastle needed to bring in another center-back in the summer, but surely with these two top players out until February, Mike Ashley will give Alan Pardew the cash he needs to bring in some new players in the January transfer window.

We hope so – this is just terrible luck for Newcastle, on the injury front.

Where has Lady Luck gone? :(

    @Mister Tuff

Ooooh I say, tetchy. This blog is a minefield at times, it is ridiculous where people’s sense and sensibilities go when their team isn’t doing as well as they want.

I would be an advocate of the view that instead of slating players, or the manager why don’t we highlight where exactly we think we are going wrong and offer solutions to those problems.

NB “Sack the manager” cannot be included as a solution :P

Even more reason to make 4 or 5 signings in January. Now until then Marveaux will have to step up into Cabaye’s creative role and Willo in Taylor’s role. Our middle three has to be Tiote, Anita and Marveaux.

    ——————–Krul——————–
    Simmo——Wilo——Colo——Santon
    ————Anita——Tiote————–
    HBA———–Marveaux———?????

if we were playing champions league football i bet the injury list would be a lot smaller

  • 6 Big Pappa Cissé // Nov 27, 2012 at 3:52 PM

This season has turned into a write off IMO. I would now be happy with a decent run in Europe and premier league safety unless Ashley spends big in Jan which is about as likely as pigs flying

  • 7 Ruddy Marveaux-lous // Nov 27, 2012 at 3:53 PM

    Danuneek

I’d rather have Marveaux play one of the wide roles with HBA in the hole, the likes of Sammy and Fergie will see a lot more PL game time as a result of all these injuries.

A CB is a must buy in January, would like a RB but feel that the powers that be might just allow Simmo to run down his contract and replace him in the summer, we also need another striker but we all knew this in the summer.

January could be a frustrating window I fear.

  • 8 Graeme // Nov 27, 2012 at 3:55 PM

Tayls is always out for long periods – its probably every season since his first one that it happens.

One of the reasons we were looking for a CB 2 years ago, was because Saylor was always out of contention – shame the hierarchy didn’t do something about it when they had the chance!!

I’m going to bow out now gentlemen. Have a good one.

what will you do when the day of judgement comes?

    nobody can hide

    nobody will escape

your time has come to an end unless you repent for the bad that you did

the signs were there but those of you that spoke out against the knowledge offered to you forced this, our darkest day

    the end is nigh

it was a depressing and sad week for me after 3 straight losses..but i have decided to back the team instead of raising nasty voices about manager and team.Blame no one..instead help our team recover this situation..its our home,,,please everyone pray pray pray for newcstle to put some winning performance in our next 6 games,,if we win 5 out of our 6 games then we would be in comfortable position and hope to bring in some 4 players in january and strenghten the squad and hope to finish in top 6,which would be great.put some cheering words for our team…one more thing..its silly put highly sentimental…EVERYONE PLS COMMENT ABOUT THE POSITIVE SIDE OF NEWCASTLE ATLEAST TILL STOKE MAtCH AND WE ARE SURE TO WIN THE GAME REAGRDLESS OF OUR INJURIES….i am very happy and very confident to see our side win against stoke……HOWAY NEWCASTLE…GO ON ON and ON

    Ruddy Marveaux-lous

Perhaps … but whenever I’ve seen Marveaux play really badly is when he’s wide. We know Benny can play there. I feel Marveaux’s strength is in his creative passing play and ability to keep things moving quickly. Whereas Benny prefers to take players on than pass.

big picture little picture, i dont reall care,

i love to watch football, my team of choice is newcastle, choice is a bad word for it really, i was born a newcastle supporter

for me the big picture is sdtanding back, take a breath, and look at what is going on, ask why is it going on and fix it when its breaking not broken, preventive maintinece,,,

some of us seen a problem last season, but where told to be quiet, and look at the table, we are 3rd,, we are 4th, we finihsed 5th,, are you mad, ppl said, arrr there is no pleasing some fans,, thtas what was said ( some used stronger language )
but looking back all the signs where there but ppl chose to see what they want, and most chose to look at a table for there football, probably a good idea because the football on the pitch was poor
by the end of dec last year, we had scored 25 goals, 16 from 1 guy 9 from the rest,, thats poor
but as a team there was not any matches where i watched and thought yes, wow, that was great, what they did great last year was close teams down, no flair until the end of jan, then we had 3 players that looked like they could take on the world HBA CABAYE CISSE,

there was very little on the left side

before that, we played with the 2 worst wingers in the league, obertan and jonas,, jonas i forgave beacuse he was covering a lot for raylor, but obertan, got into some great positions, but could not cross, at 22, he should be able to do that, fans where screaming for HBA, but pardew made every excuse under the sun not to play him,, until obertan got injured

the defence where iether great 15 clean sheets, or shit, 3/4/5s on a few occaisions

but all the time i was watching them last year, i never felt like we ever wanted to beat a team, win a game yes, 1-0 or 2-1,, but not go all out for a win

we finished 5th because we where given 2 places, chelsea and liverpool had shocking seasons for reasons well ducumented,
last season befor cisse, cabaye played DMC along with tiote, and even after cisse came, he floated beteeen the 2

i guess im trying to say, nothing much has changed from last year, same players same manager less luck

the stats can be used in many ways, but if you take the stats as a whole
they do marry up with the style of football we play and do give us reasons as to why it is not working

reasons i think he has lost the players
    1, the results
2, the type of players we have and how he uses them
filling a team full of players from the championship and playing long ball is one thing, but we have top internationals from top countries around the world, how does it make them look good by playing long ball,
3, the excuses he uses, he is on a nother planet sometimes,, last week he blamed the loss on young players doing older players jobs, but in the same interview said they had done better than the week before,, i scratch my head sometimes

pardew is used to working with average players, he dont know how to get the best out of our team, 2 years of watching them tells you that,,

there are managers out there that could do wonders with this current squad we have,,

what you have to ask yourself is, should we stick with pardew because it is not good to be seen sacking another manager, or let this guy take us down, to safe face,,
where does it say stability means keeping someone, it could also mean getting rid ov someone

i just want to watch football, thats all,, i love my team and i stand by my team, but i will not stand by and watch some stuborn guy try and kill it, just so some of you can say,, naaaaa, we will see in jan ,, you have had 2 full years to watch this unfold,, why do u need to jan????

Prophet….Will you be safe when the end comes? If I confess to my sins and pledge my beliefs in you, can I be saved? Most importantly, do you know how Beatrice is doing?

Graeme….Sorry for the delay. Yes, Sarcasm is a new target for us. It’s free and splits opinions so should be perfect for us.

the giver of knowledge said this would happen

the current scenario was painted in words so clear

yet you ignored them, you wouldnt listen, you wrapped yourself up in your simple lies to aviod broken pride

now the torrent of truth drowns you as the armageddon approaches

lurking in the shadow is your second chance

take it , heed my warning to you, repent for the wrong you did

Is Perch fit again? Seemingly the best replacement for ST? Regards Cabaye, he has been a little on and off formwise this season, so maybe the time off will give him a bit of time to reflect on his game. Lets see more of Marveaux as could be a good creative outlet if he can adapt to the prem.

2 powerfull centre backs a must with saylors injury and willow no good 2 who are good in the air and can play the ball out and not hoof it out damgerous at set plays douglas would be a top signing heard remy can go for ten mill offer them oberton and cash and get a creative ball passing midfielder dont no if debuchy would solve our defence on the right as ive watched him a few times his defending is not his strenths finds it hard tracking back

    Ibizatoon

    No one is safe.

The only way to guarentee another chance is not through belief, but through repenting for crimes commited against the diety that offered knowledge like an olive branch of peace but got war in return.

Beatrice was but a man, yet when the day comes all that we leave is a legacy. the legacy of Beattie was one of truth but he was too weak to in the end.

we will all burn for what we denied ourselves

    the end is nigh

There’s a good chance that we could be relegated this season. We need at least 6 new signings in January to have any chance of staying up. We need Debuchy, Alderewerield, Mbiwa, Sissokho, Boudebouz and either Remy or Sulejmani.

Prophet…I see. Actually I don’t. Can you recommend a good translation website for doom mongering to English?

  • 28 Graeme // Nov 27, 2012 at 4:24 PM

Ibiza – FREE??? We do “Not very Expensive”; We do “Fairly Cheap”; and we are known to go for “WOW what a bargain he is/was”

We DO NOT do “free”!! Lambs arse stated many times and went into print on this issue – some of our most expensive signings were FREE, except they weren’t, really!!! We all thought at the time that a “Free signing” was actually a “Free Signing” but that delusion was brutally corrected by MD Dekka – oh ye of little faith lol

I agree with that team apart from Obertan. I’d put Marveaux on the left with Abeid through the centre.

  • 31 MAUTITOON // Nov 27, 2012 at 5:42 PM

hard time being a newcastle united fans these days, but we’ve got to adhere support to our team in these tumultuous times.yes it does hurt to see the team play so badly as if they have forgotten all the basics of football and here particularly i’m wondering if this teamcan play football at all.well we are used to suffer as newcastle fans and i don’t see this to change anytime sooner.anyway all the best to our team for tomorrow,i just want to see them play football as it should be- the result will follow by itself.

  • 32 RytonJohn // Nov 27, 2012 at 8:49 PM

Nothing against Perch, but surely Williamson has to play against Stoke?
