This Player Is Now So Important For Newcastle

With Yohan Cabaye ruled out now until February, the man who is taking his place in the Newcastle side, and by the stats is the third most creative player at the club right now behind Cabaye and Ben Arfa – is Vurnon Anita, and he now become a really important player in central midfield for Newcastle United.

Vurnon Anita – after scoring wonder goal at Club Brugge

Vurnon had said when he arrived in the summer from Ajax, that he wanted to play as many games as possible for Newcastle this season, and it looks like he’ll get his wish.

And it’s good to see that the Dutch International is starting to find his feet in English football,  and teh 23 year-old has looked so much better in the last few games,  that he did at the start of the season.

We’ll have to rely on Anita, and Ben Arfa when he returns in a couple of weeks time, to create the chances for strikers like Papiss Cisse, Demba Ba and Shola Ameobi to score the goals that we’ll need.

Vurnon is a gifted technical player, and you could see what wonderful technique he has when he rifled in that goal at Club Brugge, and we need some more of that type of shooting from the 5 times capped Dutch international.

How Newcastle fare in the next two or three months will depend a lot on how well Vurnon can adapt as the creative central midfield player for Newcastle in the months ahead.

We have to hope he exceeds expectations and becomes a Newcastle star in the absence of Yohan Cabaye, and if that happens we should be higher up in the league table when Yohan does finally return to the side in February.

Here’s hoping. 😀

    At least VA is starting to look the part now. Hopefully he will keep the form of the last couple of games (We can live without the overall results like!) and keep improving.

    No one is safe.

    The only way to guarentee another chance is not through belief, but through repenting for crimes commited against the diety that offered knowledge like an olive branch of peace but got war in return.

    Beatrice was but a man, yet when the day comes all that we leave is a legacy. the legacy of Beattie was one of truth but he was too weak to in the end.

    Pards will not do this but I’d go for this side vs. Stoke:

    Krul;
    Simpson, Williamson, Collocini, Santon;
    Perch, Tioté;
    Marveaux, Anita, Jonas;
    Ba;

    Subs: Harper, Tavernier, Ferguson, Bigirimana, Obertan, Sammy, Cissé

    Ibiza – FREE??? We do “Not very Expensive”; We do “Fairly Cheap”; and we are known to go for “WOW what a bargain he is/was”

    We DO NOT do “free”!! Lambs arse stated many times and went into print on this issue – some of our most expensive signings were FREE, except they weren’t, really!!! We all thought at the time that a “Free signing” was actually a “Free Signing” but that delusion was brutally corrected by MD Dekka – oh ye of little faith lol

    This is a 4-2-3-1, but with Anita playing higher up in a box to box role. And call me crazy, but the best we have looked in attack is with Shola holding up the ball and distributing. If AP insists on playing hoof ball, Put Shola in the middle. Not sure when he will be back, but he is one of our better passers and creators..

    Also, now is the time for Marveaux to shine. Ferguson just isn’t getting it done.

    We obviously have a stronger squad than last season. Cabaye and the others have a years experience in the pl. And if U look at the team and bench against spurs and compare it to the one that started against arsenal last season, it absolutely beggers belief when someone says our squad is now weaker. I do not understand that reasoning at all. Could someone who thinks we are weaker elaborate for me please.

    For a comparison and putting things into perspective, take our nearest rivals Spurs as an example.

    They lost arguably their best two players in VDV and Modric and we kept all ours. So whilst it may appear that they have done great business all they have done is replace those they have lost and it may take time for the new players to bed in.

    How about ManCity. They have added to their squad, as they can afford it as they have a bottomless pit of money, but how many of their new players will play regularly.

    I wouldn’t be surprised if we add to our squad in the winter transfer window.

    I’m quite happy with the clubs business as we have some fantastic and much sought after players in Tiote, Cabaye, Ba, Cisse, Krul and Colo.

    I have been impressed with Anita, Bigi (and only 18 years of age!) and Amalfitano. The only player I was sad to see go was Guthrie but he would never have replaced Tiote or Cabaye.

    Score 7 out of 10

    It’s all about what you view as success. To a and most reasonable people Chelsea are currently successful.

    To abramovich the champions league is the main thing. He won it last year, spent 80 mill in the summer and looks like going out in the group stage.

    To abramovich that int success, he wants it every year. Therefore no manager will be safe at Chelsea as its impossible to any cup every year never mind the champions league.

    Also, have been reading last nights comments and please please someone tell me!!! How is arsenal a stronger side than last season?? The lost vpersie and song,?? Carzola is good yes.. But poldoski?? He only scores for Germany. The French guy?? Remember chamaki tearing the French league before arsenal bought him.

    Spurs?? They lost 2 worldclass players!!! If modric played against us. We would have lost. Spurs had no creativity on that day. Vdv scored 24 goals and 16 assists in 2 years. And they replaced him with sigderson, (who I believe was good at Swansea cuz they built the team around him) dembele is good yes, but can U compare him to vdv and modric?? Spurs are in noway stronger than last season. If anyone saw the westbrom spurs game. Vertigen was caught out for pace and strengh by lukaku. ( thats the reason avb v us played gallas. BA and Cisse would have had a field day.
    I will not mention adebayo as he was at spurs last season.

    Liverpool have weakened
    Everton pretty much have the same team as last year. So how have the strengthened again?? They just have had a great start to the season.

    I believe pple are just moaning for the sake of it.

    I also read the argument that we were lucky this season as arsenal where shit, spurs lost the plot and Chelsea were rubbish?? Lads, look the the past few seasons league standings and it will show U that a team that got 70 points where normal guranteed champions league footie. A team that got between 62-68 got 5th or sixth.

    Have a look urself lads.. It was no fluke. Spurs had by their previous standards a normal season in the points the had at the end of the season, so to arsenal. They got their normal points tally as the previous few seasons. I dnt get that argument too.

    If a few months back NUFC fans were told come the 1st September we had not sold ANY of our big names, signed 3/4 new players, of which one is a Dutch International midfielder for just £6.2m….everyone would have been happy!!!!!!

    Of course our squad is stroner than last season FFS!!!!!

    S.Taylor is back, Marveaux is back. We have both the Demba’s from the start of the season (People seem to forget we just had Ba as our main striker for the first 5 months of last season!!) Players like Santon, Cabaye, Cisse will only get better after adjusting to the Premier League, our younger group of players will be better also….

    Some ‘supporters’ need to get a grip!
