After four consecutive Premier League defeats, Newcastle boss Alan Pardew has called on the Newcastle fans to pack St. James’ Park tomorrow night, and roar on the players, as the lads try to get out of a big slump in their Premier League form this season.

Alan Pardew held his press conference yesterday and while the player have to earn the applause and encouragement from the Geordie fans, he’s hoping there will be a big turn out as out lads try to win their first league games in six attempts.

This is what Alan said:

“The crowd are going to have a big part to play in this game.” “It’s a Monday night and we need as many as we can get there. We need their support now.”

“This is the first tough period we have had as a group since I have been here, and we really need to tough it out now.” “They were absolutely superb at Stoke, They clapped us off after we had just been beaten for the fourth time.”

“And that was a surprise to me.”  “But it was lovely to hear and gave us all a boost.”

Unfortunately Wigan are coming into some good form, and in their midweek game against Manchester City they were the better side in the first hour, before going down 2-0 to the Premier League Champions.

And last season we managed to scrape a 1-0 win in the same fixture with the winning goal coming form Yohan Cabaye after 81 minutes, and then of course at Wigan last April, our six game winning streak was shattered when we lost 4-0, with all goals being scored in the first half.

We’d settle for another 1-0 win tomorrow night.
