The real Ruddy would never attack so ferociously.

anita was once again superb so was santon c’mon the lads

  • 4 Foxworth // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:05 PM

So many to choose from tonight:

    Williamson was immense.

    Simpson was excellent.

Anita & Marveaux controlled the midfield.

    And obv Ba scored twice.

Went for Willo myself – towering performance from him!

Boo hoo Wigan got a lad rightfully sent off and some mags seem more focused on finding something more to moan about

We looked close to the team that finshed last season tonight for me Marv filling HBA’s boots and Anita coming good

  • 6 BelfastMagpie // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:06 PM

    Anita followed by Marveaux.
Big worry is Ba’s injury, Cisse’s either offside or fluffing chances this season.
    Hope Ba is ok.

Marveaux has proved today that he is one of the best players at the club and deserves to start every game from now on.

We didn’t play that well against 10 men and we still have a lot of problems. We need to make 4 signings minimum in Jan.

  • 8 Beattie25 // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:06 PM

The real Ruddy would question Catchy but never snap his jaws around the throat of a fellow fan.

  • 9 Ruddy Marveaux-lous // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:06 PM

When provoked by the ridiculous creature that is Catchy you’d be surprised what I’d do.

  • 10 Nufc-83 // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:06 PM

Anita all day followed by marv then Santon.
    On another note buy Stam.

  • 11 Black and White with an army lol // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:07 PM

willo did very good shame he didnt perform like this any other game

  • 12 Black and White with an army lol // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:09 PM

bigi’s goal was immense it reminds me of a messi goal

  • 13 Jamiemac // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:10 PM

    Anita looked class tonight

  • 14 MUTINYbyLEMONS // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:10 PM

Our build up to the penalty was really quick and really good as analysed by Gary Neville

  • 15 GeordieDan // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:12 PM

    Great result!

Just what we needed. Anita just edged it today for me.

What a strike from Bigirimana as well. :D

    Great stuff lads.

Willo still made a few errors. You can’t really judge a player against 10 men. We’ll get beat by Fulham in the next match, especially if Santon is injured.

  • 17 Cool Hand Luke // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:14 PM

My head says Anita, but my heart says Santon. So i followed my heart. Anita was better on the day, in fact he was everywhere on the pitch, but everytime Santon cuts inside like that im screaming SHOOT at the telly, tonight he did, let fly with a screamer and set up a goal.

  • 18 Black and White with an army lol // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:15 PM

if santon is injured (hope not) fergy of jonas would fill the role

  • 19 GeordieDan // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:15 PM

    kets :(

    Is there any need?

  • 20 Cool Hand Luke // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:16 PM

Mutiny by lemons, it was an excellent build up and a clear cut penalty/red card. Ba and Cisse finally showed a few signs of linking up tonight, in fact the whole team looked way more mobile than normal.

  • 21 GeordieDan // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:19 PM

Now do we play a very young and hungry team against Bordeux on Thursday and rest the big guns?

In context its not 2 important compared to getting properly prepared to beat Fulham next week.

3 more points and our 1st away win would be superb and not impossible!

  • 22 MykToonFan // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:24 PM

Anita edges it, with Marveaux a close second.

    Both class.

  • 23 woolerbill // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:34 PM

Great 3 points but we were 11 against a 10 man TEAM. At the start of the second half we as if we were defending a 2 goal lead against 10 men. We are at home against ten men we are fooling ourselves.

  • 24 toonicle // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:34 PM

Anita is really putting in some great showings these last few games. Had to give it to him.

  • 25 NUFC_LEAZES END // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:46 PM

It’s great, for once its soo hard to pick a man of the match, Simpson was my personal favourite, santon, Anita, marveaux, Ba and willo all had a cracking game though, still a bit disappointed about the atmohere though :/ 4-3-3 once again has worked smoothly

  • 26 Blaydon-Toon // Dec 3, 2012 at 10:50 PM

Anita or Marv both excellent !

  • 27 Charlie in the Gallowgate // Dec 3, 2012 at 11:26 PM

    marvo by a mile

  • 28 YOY_Yorkshire // Dec 3, 2012 at 11:26 PM

A swallow doesn’t make a summer when it comes to willo and again he tended to hoof the ball up the field. I thought Collo was a tad poor too with his lack of pace showing through … I had to laugh when Simmo had to rescue the two CBs. Positives were the side had lots of energy, pressed more esp high up the pitch (pity they tended to be a bit slack at the back), and kept possession better. The forwards moved better and both Marv and Stanton provide good width … oh and drop Gutti. .

Great great well played we love you Newcastle still we need to bet Fulham, get some against City then we will rise up the table
Still like a right back, centre back, midfielder and striker (Debuchy £6m), Douglas (£2m) Sissokho (£2m) and Austin (£5m) £15m, come on Ashley

  • 30 Brutooon // Dec 4, 2012 at 12:01 AM

Anita look class tonite (definitely MOTM)

Marveax and Santon not far behind

    Finally Anita did convinct me

  • 31 nufcsg // Dec 4, 2012 at 12:29 AM

Anita, marveaux, santon all did well. Santon has been consistent – solid defensively and likes driving the team forward. Marveaux showed glimpses of hba today. He’s such a gifted player. Gd control, end for pass, and a little pace for dribbling. Anita was all over the place and rarely missing a pass. Glad he’s finally settled and motm goes to him!!

  • 32 toon_asprilla2012 // Dec 4, 2012 at 12:56 AM

Anita was in the game the whole 90mins didnt disappear (something we been missin since losing cabaye sum1 that constantly involved). He made a couple good threw balls over the top tonight and also wasnt shy of the being in possession. Marvarveux Williamson and colo had a also a near perfect performances just Marv was a little out the game for little periods but then made a couple wavey runs but lacked the Finnish (rustiness from being out of first team maybe) but I wa happy for him. Colo and willo made those suspect passes in the first Half and willo got turned and out muscled/paced by Kobe but willo was at ease in the air. Overall was a good performance against 10men 3-0 clean sheet end the run of defeats and also much needed 3points and confidence booster because at times we was playing some ‘cockey’ football and although it wasn’t the most clinical but it showed confidence the players were gaining! Cumm Onnnn the TOOOON! #staypositive

I like guti his a legend since we got him and got relegated and played well but this season and parts of last season his been poooor! His dribbling has gone, so have his faints and spends half the game on the floor now. He still constantly running his heart out but it’s not realy beneficial. Obvious option is Marv but he looked good in Centre mid today. Hmmmmm?
