Demba Ba was again in good form last night and scored another brace – his third brace of the season, in Newcastle’s vital 3-0 defeat of Wigan, and this lad has been an enormous success since he joined us from West Ham in the summer of last year.
Demba Ba – after scoring penalty last night
With 16 goals in 36 appearances last season in his first season on Tyneside, he is currently top of the charts this season, and is tied on 10 PL goals with Michu of Swansea, Suarez of Liverpool and van Persie of Manchester United.
Ba talked to nufcTV today and is only concentrating on doing his job:
“It’s not too bad so far, 10 goals in I don’t know how many games.” “I will just keep on doing my work and if it comes, it comes; if it doesn’t, it doesn’t matter as long as we win.””All I know is what we proved on the pitch last night, what we did on Wednesday as well.”
“We have shown people that we still have the spirit and we still want to win and go forward.” “It was very good, it was very good to win after these last weeks. Now we just have to keep our heads down and keep working and keep doing what we did last night.”
Note to Demba Ba – you have played 17 times for Newcastle this season for those 10 goals – just fantastic.
Of course there have been many reports about Ba’s release clause becoming active again in January, but we are still hoping Newcastle can do a deal before then.
And of course Ba is doing exactly the right thing by banging in those goals to get a contract along the lines of what Newcastle gave captain Coloccini earlier this year – and that’s what Ba wants.
He’s a great player and a good man is Demba Ba – and we’d love him to stay on Tyneside, and he seems completely unaffected by all the transfer talk in the papers about him.
Comments always welcome.

I can’t compare Shearer to Ba mate, Shearer is a whole different type of legend for us, and i’d give him my arm to have him play two more years before he retired.
We might have spoilt him, but he was worth it, and i would give it a fair crack and say he didn’t spoil a teams setup for any manager.

Comment #82Kets, Williamson called earlier, he said can you stop talking about him as he’s down to his last few potato head ears. You’ve burnt the rest off. Also he said your a massive cock and you should listen to me once and for all and find that hole and crawl in it and never emerge. Unless the planet is overtaken by cabbages then you’ll fit right in.

Comment #84Mackas,did anybody ask anything that might be considered controversial, like why there wasn’t replacements lined up if a deal didn’t go through after Carr had said if player A wasn’t available then we would go for player B and then C.

Comment #86I once told Iam McFaul to Sign John Robertson from Hearts
I also said to him he should sign Dave Beasant the Wimbledon Keeper, and one other player I cant recall, Iam McFaul Signed all three! ..We nearly got relegated and John Robertson played only a handful of games and was banished to the reserves..Still don’t know why Robertson started playing poorly . Mystified.
All the players flopped ..
But hey ! I nearly got us relegated !

Think cisse is just desperate to get on the score sheet!
Dannyo true but both sound eager to give that role a try and def think they have the movement and passing range to play there

Comment #88Dannyo – Looking at the current composition of the side we should look to keep Ba. The suggestion of signing Shane Long to play with him is sound. We nearly signed him when he was @ Reading but were put off by £5 million fee quoted. Why would WBA sell him! I am not suggesting Ba is in the same class as Shearer at his peak. I personally think that claims of Ba causing disruption is much exaggerated .
I am off. Take it easy.

if you were making 15, 20k a week, would you quit that job on your own accord?
you make good points from time to time. quit being such a troll and blasting hyperbole all the time. have an opinion, we all do, but don’t put such a nonsensical spin on everything you say

Comment #90Cisse plays on the shoulder of the last defender as he was doing last night.
But the problem we had/have at the moment is we tend to have one touch to many on the ball, and by the time the pass has been made Cisse, has made his move.
With confidence of a win and Anita and Marvo getting games hopefully they will be able to pick out his runs

Comment #94There’s playing on the shoulder & then there’s piss poor play, which Cisse is guilty off. It’s not that hard to stay on side. I’ve never seen a striker get caught offside as much as he does. It would boil my piss if I played alongside him.

Comment #99@jail, believe this if you wish, but my dads question was about Pardews contract (will try and explain in detail tomorrow) to which Pardews response was I think that question is ‘a f*****g insult
‘ and lambias ended the questions there, and came over to tell my dD he was out of order, needless to say the guy isn’t a particularly nice guy and was not willing to listen at all, which I suspect most of you bloggers had already guessed, hope I’ve gave you all some food for thought. And hope my memory serves me well tomorrow. Also thanks for the appreciation, my info could have been better but didn’t want to be sat in front of the management/coaching staff and moncur (he was taking questions) on my phone ;p!

Comment #102Bugger, I’ve just posted a fairly long post and it contained f**king, assuming it’s been monitored or something so I will try again, also thanks for the appreciation, been trying to get as much info across as I can tonight but I didn’t really want to be sat infront of the management on my phone ha! But basically my dad asked a question regarding pards contract, saying yep all for stability etc, but what if it goes t*ts up, is there a clause that’s says we ain’t happy as fans on your bike pards (slightly better worded), to which pardew replied that’s a f**king insult, lambais ended the questions there, lambias then came over to our table to say the question was out of order

Comment #106@dannyo, they both spoke about the chronicle and how they aren’t great fans of the tabloids, because the papers had alledgedy published our line up for west ham (so what?!) and that they’ve also just hired a communications adviser (or something) from the USA, and initially they wanted to sort out underlying thing and get it out the way before releasing info, as my dads other question (which he stole off me) was related to communication between the club and the fans and how tonight is productive but why can’t it be a quaterly occurrence for example e.g. Are we as a club on target?

Cheers for that 🙂
And one has to agree, a bit too forward that question, lol.
No one of us really does have any business enquiring about other peoples job contracts.
So i can honestly understand the reaction to the question, altho i it could perhaps have been avoided prettier 😉
I will scoure the blog for your retell of the Q&A tomorrow 🙂
Cheers for the info for now tho 😉

Well, maybe the question was not too far from the truth.
And it’s hardly the best way for AP and DL to end a Q&A asawell. Altho the question might be too direct, there’s a much better way to sidestep it.
They are pros after all.
At the same time, maybe it does show that DL does have APs back more than we think?

Would love Dzeko m8 but we aint gunna get him for any less than 15 million. He is very similar to Van Persie and would probably give him a run for his money goalscoring wise if he played every week. Maybe an exchange deal for Ba if he really wants to leave ?

Comment #117I personally don’t think a question of that nature is a ‘fu$$in’ insult,we help pay that eight year contract and think we have the right to know if there are stipulations in being able to stay in such a deal,I wouldn’t expect to find out the ins and outs but I would like to think that we could be told of certain levels of expectation.
