Demba Ba was again in good form last night and scored another brace – his third brace of the season, in Newcastle’s vital 3-0 defeat of Wigan, and this lad has been an enormous success since he joined us from West Ham in the summer of last year.
Demba Ba – after scoring penalty last night
With 16 goals in 36 appearances last season in his first season on Tyneside, he is currently top of the charts this season, and is tied on 10 PL goals with Michu of Swansea, Suarez of Liverpool and van Persie of Manchester United.
Ba talked to nufcTV today and is only concentrating on doing his job:
“It’s not too bad so far, 10 goals in I don’t know how many games.” “I will just keep on doing my work and if it comes, it comes; if it doesn’t, it doesn’t matter as long as we win.””All I know is what we proved on the pitch last night, what we did on Wednesday as well.”
“We have shown people that we still have the spirit and we still want to win and go forward.” “It was very good, it was very good to win after these last weeks. Now we just have to keep our heads down and keep working and keep doing what we did last night.”
Note to Demba Ba – you have played 17 times for Newcastle this season for those 10 goals – just fantastic.
Of course there have been many reports about Ba’s release clause becoming active again in January, but we are still hoping Newcastle can do a deal before then.
And of course Ba is doing exactly the right thing by banging in those goals to get a contract along the lines of what Newcastle gave captain Coloccini earlier this year – and that’s what Ba wants.
He’s a great player and a good man is Demba Ba – and we’d love him to stay on Tyneside, and he seems completely unaffected by all the transfer talk in the papers about him.
Comments always welcome.

I would have Zabaleta like but again any player coming from City will be on sky high wages but players like him make me realise how poor offensively Danny Simpson is

Comment #165I think on the Q & A,as has been pointed out none of us posting on here other than macka 7 was in attendance tonight so maybe we should reserve judgement as to what or wasn’t said,I could have easily reported from the KK dinner that certain things were said and who could have said anything to believe or disbelieve me.

Comment #166To many spelling mistakes to be the real ruddy. He sounds like the type of guy who irons his boxer shorts & has all his belongings lined up all neat and tidy.
And probably still kisses his mother.

Comment #168Maybe Ba is “owned” by gangsters, warlords hoodlums and knucklemen.
How else do you explain the disparate views coming one from the player and the other, his handlers.
Trippy shit!

Comment #172my view is that 60k is our wage cap and we should not break it.
but ….. compared to other prem teams and there strikers ba is easily worth 90k and truth be told footballers only have till 35years ish max to earn as much as possible so imo he owes us nothing as he was free and he has made nufc more money than we spent on him and has allways been a great servant to us imo.
if he stays like he did last transfer window when i thought he would go in my eyes he would be the new toon hero esp if he rids himself of that stupid (for us) contract.
lets show the lad how much we love him as its the only hope we may have of keeping him.

Comment #175Crortus,well said with that amazing policy a 52000 full house will be able to watch our best players go off to a bigger club like Spurs who don’t seem to mind paying the going rate for leading goalscorers or exciting attacking fullbacks.

if its the wage cap you was having a go at there i’m not sure how you would solve it as its obv we can not pay 100k per player like we used to and i see 60k plenty enough for any player so should we be held to ransom by other teams paying 100k+ or make a stand like we have and say 60k is max ?
players will go for more money ..i would if someone offered to double my wages ..we are not city/manu/chelsky ect ect our players play for love and money not just money like they used to and its better we have cisse/ba on 60k/week than a waster owen on 100k !

Comment #186Man City may be rubbish in Europe but I’m sure they’d make an exception for us, so I’m delighted they’re out altogether.
If we had drawn them in the Europa League, on current form they’d almost certainly have kicked several colours of shite out of us

Ahh, the whole situation just seems dodgy. I honestly think he seems to like it here much more then he lets on, he just looks genuinely happy.
There must be something about Newcastle football club that makes the players just instantly fall in love with it, I mean anyone of our players could kick up a fuss and get much higher wages in another place if they truly wanted too. (Aside from Simpson and Williamson) As our team is pretty quality.

If the trolley can be left on the touchline – she plays mate lol
