Newcastle Offer For Midfielder Derisory

Wen we heard the news that Newcastle were going after Adam Lallana of Southampton next month, and the club hoped to get him to Tyneside for around  £5M, we thought it may take as much as double to get the skillful play maker to Newcastle.

Adam Lallana – playing against Wigan

And sure enough Matt Le Tissier has said that Newcastle’s £5M interest in Adam Lallana is derisory, as he had this to say to The Sun:.

“£5M? It’s derisory, to be honest. There’s no way Southampton will sell Lallana for that amount of money.” “He’s the club captain there, he’s playing every week and the fans love him.”

“Adam has taken Southampton up through the leagues and now he is playing for them in the Premier League.” “Adam has taken Southampton up through the leagues and now he is playing for them in the Premier League.”

“He wouldn’t leave unless it was for a top, top club challenging for the Champions League.”

Well that’s not us – but Matt is simply trying to up the price of the player who has played 210 times for Southampton since making his debt in August of 2006 as an 18 year-old, and he has 10 goals – one against Newcastle this season.

Lallana is a good player, and we were interested in this lad a month or so after Alan Pardew arrived at Newcastle two years ago, but we may have waited too long, and now he’s probably too expensive for Newcastle.

“Adam has taken Southampton up through the leagues and now he is playing for them in the Premier League.”

A point so important it’s worth making twice.

Never gonna happen in a million years.

5 million is a piss take aswell, though I expect nothing less from Ashley & co.

No way we will get him for £5m and the club will not overspend. Dead in the water unless there is some mystery clause.

Why would he leave anyway ? He’s took them up through the divisions & he’s hardly gonna get a massive pay rise with us.

i think ash has capped his transfer dealings at about £5m. may up it a bit more if need be, but in general we know how much he is prepared to spend. i was surprised when he forked out £9m for cisse, and looking at the season he is having , he may be a bit more cautious in future about going over the odds.

if that is true it is both stupid and disrespectful, but more to the point lallana would not come to a small minded club like newcastle, they have just proved to lallana and everyone else how small minded they are,how would we feel if southampton offered 3 m for cabaye or hba,

pardew is always saying that ashley only wants the best price going for his players because he screwed liverpool over carrol however when other club use the same tactics he walks away as if all owners are thick and sell their best players cheaply he just uses the transfer fee as an excuse

Jeez someone says he could go for as low as 5 mill and Pardew used to manage him. Some other guys says $5 mill is not enough and it turns in “Newcastle’s offer derisory”…. really?? We have not offered anything for him as far as I am concerned and if we were going to we are not the sort of set up that would come out and just advertise it to the world. Idiotic journalism at it’s best.

At least we put in an offer… Pardew/mgmt want some cheap signings and bidding has to start somewhere but why they figured they could sign this kid this low makes me shake my head with wonder (praying for a miracle)?
