Chris Hughton Doing Great Job At Norwich City

9:30 am, Sunday, December 9th, 2012 by Ed Harrison · 11 Comments

We watched the Swansea vs Norwich City game yesterday, and the two in-form teams put on an excellent display for the fans, and would you believe Norwich City were 3-0 up at the break, and finally won the game 4-3.

Chris Hughton – doing great at Norwich City

Swansea are a very good side this season, and they came back well in the second half, and their 26 year-old Spaniard Michu – real name Miguel Pérez Cuesta – looked very sharp and scored two good goals to go top of the Premier League scoring charts on 12 goals, two better than Demba Ba.

It’s strange that Michu has never been capped at International level for Spain – even for the youth teams.

And Norwich City had a very rough start to the season, when they leaked 5 goals against Fulham on the first day of the season, and then 5 goals to Liverpool at Carrow Road, and after the first 8 league games they had only 3 points.

But hey –  in the last 9 league games they are unbeaten having won five and drawn four for 19 points.

What we saw yesterday was a well coached and disciplined Norwich side, who were awesome from set plays and Sebastien Bassong scored yet another goal, as Chris has him as the danger man these days from corners and free kicks into the box.

But Chris is now demonstrating what a great coach he is – but Newcastle fans already knew that from what he accomplished at Newcastle in the short 18 months he was our manager – just a reminder – we got 102 points from our 46 league games in the Championship with a massive 30 wins.

Norwich are now 5 points above Newcastle on 22 points and in 11th place in the league, and if this Norwich run lasts much longer, Chris will have Norwich safe from relegation soon.

We always knew Chris was an excellent coach and just a great guy – a real gentleman – and we’re delighted he’s doing so well at the Canaries.

    Norwich & Newcastle.

Lots in common – there is certainly a marked difference in the way the 2 teams play. Norwich look as if they mean business, the players look as if they are enjoying their football, they look as though there is both a Plan “A” as well as a Plan “B” and the fans are enjoying their football.

    Errr, we don’t!!!!!!

It’s not just Chris, there’s big Sam, all doing well. Even players that leave us do well, I wonder who or what is the reason. Good luck to them.

‘We always knew Chris was an excellent coach and just a great guy – a real gentleman – and we’re delighted he’s doing so well at the Canaries.’

There is hypocrisy, Ed, and there is bare faced hypocrisy. This is almost beyond even that.

Still, you got what you wanted – now enjoy it…

Am very happy for Hughton! That said, I saw the second half and he has worries… Swansea looked very much the better team, dominated the pitch, stormed back for three goals and had a goal waived off that wood have scored them a tie. Wonder what happened. Still a good result Hughton and I wish him well (just not against our lads)!
