Alan Pardew can be a cagey manager sometimes, and we remember well for our first game of the season at home to Tottenham, he said Ben Arfa was injured and would not make the game, but he was fit all along and the Frenchman ended up scoring the winning goal in the 2-1 win.
Newcastle’s coaches – Stone, Carver and manager Pardew
And it seems the Newcastle manager has been worried recently about leaks from the ground, regarding information on the team he will play, who is fit, and even the formations he will use in a specific game.
And Alan Pardew has apologized to Newcastle’s real fans for putting boards around the training field, so outsiders, including our fans, couldn’t see what was happening in the training.
Hey – maybe we have some new ideas for set plays – we certainly hope so – with Newcastle having scored only one goal from a corner this season, and that was put into the back of the net by Demba Ba’s hand at Reading – as we recall.
Alan Pardew will be trying to get our first away win of the season tonight at Craven Cottage:
“There is too much information going out of this training ground to the opposition and I am not going to have it any more.” “I don’t think I should be boarding up the training ground around my main pitch, which I have had to do.”
“People are coming and looking through the fence and putting my team on the internet and giving it to the press. Therefore, what I have stopped is the real fans coming to get a view of us.”
“That how I have to be, I am afraid.” “We need to give ourselves the maximum chance of winning our first away game.” “I apologize to the fans if they are not getting the information before the game.”
We hadn’t been aware that there had been leaks of the team and the formations Alan would use, but there must have been for Alan to have said that.
We hope Newcastle have some positive surprises for us tonight at Craven Cottage – and maybe we can even score a legitimate goal from a corner – and maybe Mike Williamson can head one in for his very first goal for the Magpies.
Could be.

Comment #2No need. Alan is a one dimensional manager. everyone knows what he is gonna do probably before he does himself. How about change your philosophy pardew?

In five years of reading blogs and every NUFC story available not once have I seen a team being posted by someone who’d been to the training ground.
Much more likely to be players with footballing friends, saying if they are playing.
Pardew blames the fans – unbelievable … what a twat.

I don’t think he’s blaming the fans mate….
Ed, Demba’s hand ball wasn’t a set piece, it was from a Ferguson cross in open play.

A bit harsh there, i’ve seen “leaks” of the team plenty times on twitter.
But you never know if it’s true or not until the team pops up, and more often than not it has been right.
Atleast the times i’ve seen it.
And how do you know if it’s he fans that are leaking it and not the opposition?
You are being well past ignorant here imo.

Comment #7Oh dear, Ibiza, what a callous thought – our Illustrious Owner wouldn’t stoop so low lol
There is a term for this sort of behaviour – I think its paranoia, but I could be wrong!!

Comment #8Graeme….I doubt it’d be for extra advertising, I just imagine he gets them at a good price 🙂
Paranoia perhaps, but maybe just mind games, we all know Pardew likes to use tricks occasionally.

Comment #9why are people on this blog hell bent at slaying Pardew. He must of done this for a genuine reason. If you love the toon get behind the club and stop slagging as this really irritates me.

Comment #10There are more people than us fans at the training sessions , scouts for other teams are always around, especially what happens in 3 weeks.
They dont just watch players at the games, they watch them in training too ,to see how well they train and get a better view of any potential in certain systems.
Like it or not, this may just help, and if it helps us get an extra 3-6 points this season because of a surprise we can bring to games, so be it.
I think he has got it right, but time will tell, it could also be an indication of possible formation change and more inventive set plays…..heres hoping anyhoo.

Comment #12In Sky Sports match preview, they have given the statistic that newcastle are the only team yet to score from a corner this season, so really hope pards is working on this and for ou freekicks we need to stop just chipping it to williamson all the time
