Newcastle Will Have New Look Tonight At Fulham

10:48 am, Monday, December 10th, 2012 by Ed Harrison · 21 Comments

It could be that Alan Pardew is planning a change in the way Newcastle will play against Fulham tonight, having gone to the rather extreme lengths of boarding up the training ground this week, so that outsiders can’t see what’s going on in the training.

Ben Arfa in training – could play tonight

And we’re hoping that Ben Arfa will be fit to start tonight, but Alan Pardew is not saying one way or the other if Ben Arfa will play, but he has said the Frenchman will see a different look to the Newcastle side – so maybe we’ll play 4-3-3 tonight with Papiss Cisse, Demba Ba and Ben Arfa the front three?

And Alan Pardew has been pleased with the new resilience of the side he saw at Stoke and against Wigan in our last couple of league games:

“We’ve put a new resilience in the team.” “I don’t care if Hatem’s fit or not, he needs to come in and understand there’s a different look to the team.”

“The team’s got a little bit more drive in it, a little bit more energy.” “He needs to bring that in if he comes in against Fulham, or Manchester City on Saturday. We’re not far away from being a good side.”

We’ll see what the new formation will be at around 7:00 pm tonight when the team is announced, but it could be that we’ll see Newcastle playing in an attacking 4-3-3 formation again.

We played like that when we took West Brom apart at the Hawthorns last season when we were 3-0 up at half time – maybe the same thing will happen tonight?

We hope so.

Oh jesus shut up for 5 minutes pards? Please?

He’s making some of the right noises. Maybe the fan unrest has made him push through style plans earlier that he had planned.

If something changes tonight, I hope it works. One game is not enough to test ideas, but time isn’t always given easily so it’ll take some balls to stick with it if not successful straight away.

    errrrrrrrr I’m guessing its a 2+2, a 2 + 2, then a 1 + 1

    Repost through our today.

I’ve just had a catch up today with my friend in the club and there is a lot of talk of who we are looking at…got a long-ish list so don’t expect all but these are who we are supposed to be interested in.

mamadou sakho (only 1 appearance for psg this term)
    debuchy (again!!!!)
    erik pieters
    douglas (yet again)
llana (cost much more than 5 mil so not likely)
    victor wanyama
    gary hooper
    tom ince
    nathan redmond
    zaha

not sure if any of these will come off but i’m hoping that 2/3 will come in…ideally 2 defenders more than other players.

Lets just concentrate on getting the three points eh !

Not particularly interested in any new looks but if this is a way to start winning games then its okay with me!

    Wait and see this evening?

Well in fairness to pardew he is making the right noises about transfers and changing tactics people called for.

Lets see how we go tonight and what happens in jan.

Hopefully pardew has decided to stand up to Ashley and llambias now he has a bumper new contract and now he is receiving critics in off of fans and some media.

It is not the info is being leaked, but that we play the same old same old formation over and over again :D

…Christ, I have figured it out a long time ago and I am stationed here in little DK :D

Ibiza…I know this is from MUFC blog, but I actually think it is quite interesting. There is a part about deeplying playmaker (where I would use Cabs) :)

    Have a read!

    I’d take
    Sakho
    Debuchy/pieters
    Ince
    That’d be nice

boarding up the training ground – wow – looks like were in for a treat tonight lads, even though i cant see what good boarding up the training ground is going to do- however all will be revealed tonight. lets hope it is special after all this secrecy! come on pards , tonight is your night – just for once i would love to say- well done pards, please dont let me down.

Jesper – Good morning to you sir. Have to agree about the fact that its not necessarily the leaks from the training ground, but the fact we aren’t adventurous enough with tactics and our overall setup. Fingers crossed the blog will be a happier place tonight than previous game days (although I won’t be online tonight as the neggers will be in force before a ball is even kicked I suspect!)

I too would take Debuchy, Ince and probably Diame or Sissoko. But at this stage, it’s all just talk. Hopefully jan is the time for action! HWTL

Stuart…..It would seem something is going on, might just be mind games though. I guess we’ll find out later on.

Have you never thought after a game that Pardew has got it right? Maybe not many for you, surely there have been one or two games before?

    Jono….Those would be welcomed additions.

  • 14 Graeme // Dec 10, 2012 at 11:34 AM

Well, if the Boarding up works, the next obvious step is to install turnstiles to allow the genuine supporters access to the training ground – at a nominal cost, obviously!! lol

  • 15 stuart no9 // Dec 10, 2012 at 12:32 PM

ibiza — yeah there have been buddy — against stoke away , swansea away , both last season – man u last season, i;m sure theres another couple when he did ok, – but 1 this season would be nice, however , i feel tonights the night. ive just got this feeling something is about to unfold, and you can be sure i will be the first to shout his name from the roof tops- come on son -just f//cking go for it.

  • 16 danuneek // Dec 10, 2012 at 1:46 PM

4-1-6 with 6 target men. Pards has worked out we dont need a midfield. Just Tiote.

  • 17 check the toastie // Dec 10, 2012 at 2:33 PM

He should care whether Ben10 is fit as he is our best player by a mile, bellend.

  • 18 AmericanGeordie // Dec 10, 2012 at 2:49 PM

How about a 4-2-3-1 looking something like this?

    Krul
    Santon-Willo-Colo-Jonas
    Anita-Tiote
    Marveaux-Ben Arfa-Cisse
    Ba

  • 19 Burni // Dec 10, 2012 at 3:14 PM

I’ve stopped commenting recently to massive amounts of dross that ppl post! However…. check the toastie you just made me howl with laughter!!! Thanks bud!!

  • 20 Magpies-till-d3ath // Dec 10, 2012 at 4:00 PM

    Krul
    Simpson Perch Coloccini Santon
    Anita Tiote Marveaux
    Benny Ba Cisse
That’s us nearly full strength, only difference is Cabaye would be there! Honestly think that Perchinho is better than Saylor based on performances this season. Stevie has been awful!!!!

  • 21 GeordieTwo // Dec 10, 2012 at 6:22 PM

Couldn’t have said it better myself check the toastie @17! :) What on earth was Pardew thinking. He doesn’t care whether Ben Arfa is fit or not but he has to make an impact? What does that mean? And hiding our “new” tactics from the public? He is beginning to lose it.
