It could be that Alan Pardew is planning a change in the way Newcastle will play against Fulham tonight, having gone to the rather extreme lengths of boarding up the training ground this week, so that outsiders can’t see what’s going on in the training.
Ben Arfa in training – could play tonight
And we’re hoping that Ben Arfa will be fit to start tonight, but Alan Pardew is not saying one way or the other if Ben Arfa will play, but he has said the Frenchman will see a different look to the Newcastle side – so maybe we’ll play 4-3-3 tonight with Papiss Cisse, Demba Ba and Ben Arfa the front three?
And Alan Pardew has been pleased with the new resilience of the side he saw at Stoke and against Wigan in our last couple of league games:
“We’ve put a new resilience in the team.” “I don’t care if Hatem’s fit or not, he needs to come in and understand there’s a different look to the team.”
“The team’s got a little bit more drive in it, a little bit more energy.” “He needs to bring that in if he comes in against Fulham, or Manchester City on Saturday. We’re not far away from being a good side.”
We’ll see what the new formation will be at around 7:00 pm tonight when the team is announced, but it could be that we’ll see Newcastle playing in an attacking 4-3-3 formation again.
We played like that when we took West Brom apart at the Hawthorns last season when we were 3-0 up at half time – maybe the same thing will happen tonight?
We hope so.
