Anita if it would let me vote.

  • 2 ToonDownSouth // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:05 PM

“Support the team and don’t whinge” ?

If everyone did that, then there would be no motivation for clubs to improve.

Some people pay good money to turn up and offer their support, and those people who do have every right to complain about the shower of sh*t on offer.

  • 3 wreker16 // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:05 PM

    Has to be Anita

  • 4 Baro // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:06 PM

    Yes Ben Arfa was amazing..

But, has to be Tim Krul

  • 5 BelfastMagpie // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:06 PM

Dont ever think i’ve had a pop at Pardew before, but Ben Arfa for Ameobi was a joke.

  • 6 Harley // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:06 PM

Ben Arfa for me. We lost a lot of momentum when he went off.
We played well 2nd half but we can’t keep waiting until we go behind to start playing well.

Needed a win tonight as I can’t see us getting another point for a while.

  • 7 ToonDownSouth // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:06 PM

Anita was brilliant again. I’d love to see his passing and positioning stats.

  • 8 gonufc (up and Hatem) // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:07 PM

Anita, HBA and Colo were definite positives.

But tactically, and cohesively I wasn’t impressed at all.

  • 9 lordjoesnow // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:07 PM

I appreciate that you are down south Toondownsouth, but did you pay good money tonight? No. So quit whingin!

  • 10 Jonny // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:07 PM

we’ve played worse. Think we can all agree on that and we definitely deserved a point by hitting the bar, post and two goal line clearances!

  • 11 Dannyo // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:07 PM

I’m not gonna discuss this team any more.
I’m so demotivated atm. Who gives a flying fudge who plays.
Just win games AP, just win the games, not matter what it takes, win the games.

  • 12 Big Pappa Cissé // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:07 PM

Where on Earth would we be without Ben Arfa & Ba ?

Benny and Anita my men of the match

The whole point of a blog is to congratulate or whinge etc. As long as we are all behind the players come game time and cheer them on its all that matters.

  • 16 NUFCarter // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:09 PM

Nile rangers saying on twitter ‘we deserved more than that’ we really didnt played some nice football at times but when it came to it crosses were poor and shots were weak ones from outside the box oh we’ll least we gory city next. Oh wait.

Who ever voted Williamson is either doing it as a joke or is a mackem.

  • 20 toonking // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:10 PM

you guyes are the stupid one who need to stop whinging bloggers like dannyo and TDS prove once and for all that enough is enough by new year we will be in the bottom 3 as QPR is the only game left which we can win.

  • 21 Beattie25 // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:10 PM

    Ha ha ha ha

So all of the money TDS has spent in the past counts for nowt tonight when he wants to express his opinion?

    You fool.

  • 22 Cool Hand Luke // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:10 PM

“Let us know who you think Newcastle’s best player was in the 5th defeat in six league games by Newcastle at Craven Cottage tonight”. Kind of sums it all up nicely

  • 23 matthewjai // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:10 PM

    Alan Pardew MOTM

Cisse on the right is a master stroke

    let alone subbing benny off

  • 24 Ruddy Marveaux-lous // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:10 PM

Where would we be without Ba? We’d be a much more fluid side in the front 3. Cisse would actually get the ball for a change and we wouldn’t have an incredibly selfish player hogging the ball.

    That’s where I think we’d be.

  • 25 Eddie // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:10 PM

Pardew out. I’m not a kid. Only God knows how much time I have left on this sweet earth and God knows I don’t want to spend it watching this dross. And to those who put mediocre performances down to the players… that’s why there are managers!

  • 26 BelfastMagpie // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:10 PM

Think its now safe to say we’re in a dog fight now with the upcoming fixtures.

  • 27 toonicle // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:11 PM

Ben Arfa with Anita as a very close second. For whatever reason Guti was allowed to start instead of playin Marv there, and Guti was once again uninspired garbage for about 90% of that game

  • 28 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:11 PM

Aye but there are alit if ppl who whinge like fcuk about the game before the team sheets even up!

  • 29 hotdog // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:11 PM

I didn’t think we were going to get sucked into the relegation scrap but if we can’t beat a bang average side with our virtual best starting 11, it’s time for a rethink 🙁

  • 30 Big Pappa Cissé // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:13 PM

    @ Ruddy

Are you for real ? Ba’s 10 goals alone have won us more points than any other player this season and you want to drop him. hahaha

  • 31 Magpies-till-d3ath // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:13 PM

Krul- kept us in the game
    Simpson- Surprise!
Williamson- League 2 defender at best
    Coloccini- Caught out too much
Santon- One of the very few that actually played well
    Tiote- Poor
Anita- Probably our best player after Krul and Benny
Ben Arfa- Should be playing for the likes of City,United,Chelsea
Jonas- Good work rate, Just not a good footballer
    Cisse- Nothing like last season
Ba- Didn’t even look interested. Will leave in January

  • 32 Nufc-83 // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:13 PM

People saying class performance good performance etc where do you think we should be finishing in the league? If your happy with 15th then a 2 1 loss away to fulham is a good showing. Expected about 8th at start of season and to do that you can’t be happy with loss or any performance this season.

  • 33 toonbrother // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:13 PM

when cabaye and tiote were out last year this team survived. why?danny guthrie. We let him go for peanuts. This season cabaye gets injured and we’ve fallen apart. They dont make dumb like Pardumb anymore

  • 34 matthewjai // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:13 PM

Fulham have not scored in the last 3 game and even the scums have beaten them

however we look like conceding in their every attack

  • 35 shearerclass09 // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:13 PM

benny boy followed by anita. i thought we turned a corner tonight played more passing football less hoof ball. berbatov was a different class unlucky not to get something from the game only going to get worse in the next month need to buy big in the window..

    its ok ,

    i just want him out,,

make no mistake about it,, jonas should not be playing for us right now, we have better players,

  • 37 NEWEXPATMAGPIE // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:13 PM

It,s not my usual thing to criticise Pardew but why oh why did he take Hatem off and replace him with Ameobi !

Jonas should of been off for Ameobi ! And later he takes off Anita too? The best two players on the park for us!

Oh well, next up Shitty !

  • 38 Rotonda heights // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:14 PM

What has moaning at pardew’s ineptness got to do with not supporting the team. As TDS said where’s the motivation to improve if you accept mediocrity.

We may be a laughing stock but that’s because we’ve had some very poor managers who should never have been here in the fist place.

Dannyo you may have to think about saying we will never be bottom 3

    Thank god for Benny.

I think without his individual brilliance and a huge amount of luck last season this would have happened a lot sooner.

Every team has found us out, banning open training sessions is a joke because Pardew only has one tactic.
    he’s never going to be a Mourinho with a plan A, B and C.

Believe if he stays there is a very good chance we ‘re gone. Just ask West Ham and Charlton fans

  • 39 BelfastMagpie // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:14 PM

  • 41 thai-mag // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:14 PM

Pardew must be the only one in the country that cant see Ba and Cisse cant play together, how many points do we have to drop before he changes it. it’s like starting with 10 men

  • 42 Ruddy Marveaux-lous // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:14 PM

I’m blaming the players Eddie, the way they were set up we could have won that game easily had we not been so suspect defensively, Colo let Rodallega go for the first goal, Santon got caught out of position over and over and Tiote gifted them the ball nearly every time. Also, I think Ba passed the ball once to Cisse in the whole game, he is the most ridiculously selfish CF I have ever seen.

How, in any sense of the word, is that Pardew’s fault? It is just easier to blame him than the players.

  • 43 colwell // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:15 PM

Yeah I see that mate but the blog would be very boring if we all agreed wouldn’t it. Some people are very positive some are very negative but thats what makes the forum.

  • 44 nick_9 // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:15 PM

Ruddy each to their own but Ba has saved our bums on many occasions for me. Goalscorers are greedy, torrres is greedy, robin van persie is greedy. Ba has how many league goals? 10 is it? Surely he deserves to be greedy? What is his alternative to shooting? playing in cisse for his strike partner to be in an offside position again. I do worry when we criticise our players who are actually getting results.

  • 45 Novocastrian66 // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:16 PM

I’m not one of the Pardew out brigade. He is hamstrung by a poor squad. The players he has brought in have generally been good.
The lack of investment in the Summer is killing us. As I have said before I think we’re weaker than last season up front and have not improved our defence. Not sure if it is Pardew’s fault.

  • 47 yorkshireToon // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:16 PM

I don’t come on here to slag players off but if we had marveaux or cabaye for gutierez in this game it could of been a diifferent score, he really was that bad he lost the ball countless amounts of times, why is he playing?

Love him for the effort but he has no quality anymore or isn’t showing it, either way needs benching fast

  • 48 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:16 PM

Couldnt disagree more in the last 2 games ba has tried to play cisse through numerous times and 95% whats happened? cisse is offside again and again and again he’s probably thinking fcuk that i might as well have a pop cos he’s a mile off again and im sorry but you cant blame him for that
Ba has been linking well with bearly everyone but cisse is gradually getting there but he’s having to get used being asked to do a job just like ba did last year so why does that make ba selfish?
If cisse was the man in the centre we’d be iffside everytime the ball got played to him that lad has got alot of work to do

  • 49 phizzyJ // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:17 PM

I am almost in tears right now. Didnt see the game, but back from work and read the match report etc, and i just cant understand how we couldn beat a side who have failed to score in 5hours of football. Surely a team like ours who had such a good defensive record at the beginning of last season can let two goals in against a side like this. I like what MA is trying to do but it is idealistic and will ultimately fail, because this is a money driven game, and unless NUFC are making money and spending it, we will always be dissapointed, and following a ecent birthday, i realise that it’ll be another 25 years of disappointment if something doesnt change. Im not mad, i just think I and the rest of us deserve some actual success, cos this is meant to be a team that strikes fear into every opponent, im embarrassed.

  • 50 ToonDownSouth // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:17 PM

Firstly, you’re implying that someone has to have attended tonights particular game to express an opinion? Really? Seriously?

Secondly, if you’d ever been on the blog before you would have seen me stating many times that I do get too frustrating and I do not complain too often because I don’t often pay money to watch the team. However I do pay an awful lot when I do, seeing as I currently reside in Bath.

The fans who pay their money deserve more. That even extends to those who purchase replica shirts every year, etc.

No one buys the shirt because they think it looks awesome – because it doesn’t, and it says VIRGIN on it – they pay £50 to support the team…

  • 51 lotoplus // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:19 PM

    Ben Arfa, Anita, Santon.
    Good second half.
Sometimes, I wonder why Tiote is a starter.

Btw, it’s MarvEAUx (opposite of UAE) !

  • 52 Ruddy Marveaux-lous // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:20 PM

    Nick 9

Van persie passes to Rooney and likewise, Torres passes to Hazard/Mata and likewise. Ba does not pass to Cisse. Also, the whole “Cisse is always offisde” thing is a bit misused, look at the runs he makes, he is making runs that necessitate a quick run being made, Ba doesn’t play him in and if he ever does it is always too late as he is already past the defender.

He needs the right ball quickly and unfortunately we don’t play that pass quickly enough to him.

Ba is scoring goals but at what cost?

  • 53 toonicle // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:20 PM

Does Guti have naked pictures of Pards with Ashley or something? Honestly how he gets the start every game is beyond me….

  • 54 Charlie in the Gallowgate // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:21 PM

Crap first twenty minutes could of been/should of been 3-0 down, defence had no cover, all over the place.
Rest of first half and most of the second half we were the best team. First twenty minutes of second half best football we’ve played all season – passed and moved at pace.
Anita, Ben Arfa and Krul best players by a mile.

Tiote was total sh**e. How many times did he get caught in possession or passed to the opposition.
Jonas wasn’t much better why oh why did we not start with Marvo or best player last week and Williamson looks like he he is treading on eggshells.
    Diid not understand substitutions

  • 55 Ruddy Marveaux-lous // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:22 PM

I couldn’t disagree with you more about Ba and Cisse. Ba sometimes flat out refuses to play him the ball, even when he isn’t on the shoulder of the defender and it is the easy pass to make.

I will still support Ba as long as he is in the black and white, which as far as I am concerned, will be until the end of January at most.

  • 56 Davey // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:23 PM

Is it just me or is AP picking the team on last seasons form? Cisse cant hit the side of the proverbial barn at the moment. Tioti was great last season but at the moment he gives the ball away and is giving away free kicks too frequently. He seems to have lost his edge for me, slow to track back too. Time for Bigrimana, Marvieux, Ferguson,Sammy to start Cisse and Tioti need a rest!!

  • 57 Tsunki // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:23 PM

Anita followed by HBA, I have no idea why Pardew subbed him, it really cost us momentum. We bossed the second half and risked a lot with the high line but we should have got a draw from this. I joked that Alan would bring on shola and guess what? Marv and Bigi – no point bringing on players to change a game at 85mins I do not understand why anyone does that. I think I am slowly joining the anti-pardew brigade because his subs virtually cost us the points tonight. Dont get the continuing anti-jonas stuff at times he was like spidey of old, beating people and winning FK’s. Look at Tiote – complete disaster. Ba was profligate and that is kind. Cisse is being ruined by Ba being pandered to and I finally state that not only should they not be on the pitch at the same time, but if Ba does not like it then he should go so we can get this squad into a recognisable shape.

All in all, not lucky to come away without a point at a tough place we havent won much at in years. Not a disaster, but we should turn up in the first half, learn to play simpler stuff, and get players who can deal with simple crosses at the back. Williamson I dont blame, he was OK, the deflection is one of those things. Colo at fault for Rodallegas easy goal, but more than deserved to score a goal or two in repayment, plus one of the best tackles I have seen this season, and an otherwise solid display. Santon should have had more results from his deliveries. Cisse was harshly offside and should have scored, but apart from that was lost.

  • 58 shearerclass09 // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:23 PM

as much as i love ba I’m getting bored of his release cause. i think sack him of get cisse back in the number nine roll he will bang them in for fun. but still hatem didn’t look tired taking him of for a old bloke with bad hips killed the game.

  • 59 joeytoon // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:24 PM

pardew has lost it ,he has some very good players who just are not performing and he cant get the best out of them, anita was outstanding as was santon and hba ,colo did well .krul made a couple of good saves ,the last time i saw defending as bad as for the second goal i was still at school ,major influx of quality needed

  • 60 Scottiedog // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:25 PM

I have to say I have been a fan of Pardew, but seriously we need a change of tactics now because I am getting sick of seeing Shola come on. Why???????? Shola has one or two decent games a year against sunderland and the rest of the time he sucks.

As much as I hate to say it I think we need a new manager 🙁

  • 61 phizzyJ // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:25 PM

I am a student who has supported newcastle from a very young age, like TDS – whose dedicated posts i read constantly – I am now residing down south studying medicine. I have paid a lot of money in the past to watch Newc, and the fact that you spout such BS makes me realise that you have no idea that the only way this club is gonna make it with the big boys, is if it becomes global! Like ManU, Chelsea, Aresenal, Barca, Real…they are big because of the marketing. We can only dream of this…but especially if peope such as yourself think that the only supporters who count are the ones who live in the Northeast and pay every weekend, and never move away like I have. And on top of that no matter how cheap it is, its still expensive. So when i see Newcastle a few times a year, its a privelege, and i look forward to the day im a doctor and can afford more… but until then, i suggest you get some perspective and try and promote our team…if someone spends anything on Newcastle, it goes a small way to increasing our margins and making us a stronger team.

  • 62 the_besty_show // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:26 PM

Never thought id say it as hes been my favourite player for last 2 years but tiote is getting worse with every game, weighing in in january while he still has value might not be a bad decision by the board

  • 63 Unbelievable Tekkers // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:30 PM

Don’t know who is voting for colo but hitting the post doesnt make up for the mistakes he made for both their goals. Tiote was shocking gave the ball away so much in the first half and then the silly free kick for their goal. Ben Arfa being subbed was obviously a fitness issue as he hasnt trained much and as much as we want him on the pitch its not worth risking him picking up another injury. Williamson put in another williamson performance and jonas really does need to be dropped i dont like slagging him cuz of all the effort he has put in over the years but he really doesnt do anything anymore apart from work hard. On the plus side ben arfa played well second half thought he was a bit rusty for the first and anita carried on his good form and we came close on a couple of occasions to scoring from a set piece but apart from that im struggling for positives. As much as i want pardew to succeed some of his decisions really are starting to get frustrating and im scared to think where we are going to stand after the run we have coming up.

  • 64 JOEYT // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:36 PM

Ben Arfa our best player??? Please!!! He scored a deflected goal from outside the box and every body is masturbating over him……he was OK……not Amazing like some people have said! Not much mention of Danny Simpson….gave their winger a bit of trouble, defended very well and got forward into a lot of good positions…… in fact i would not be surprised if he delivered more balls into the box then Ben Arfa? …..Tiote was awful, missed placed passes and getting caught on the ball too much for my liking…..same goes for Jonas! Anita once again looked very good…..he may be our saving grace with the absence of Cabaye in central midfield……would like to see him get into the box a bit more.

  • 65 YOY_Yorkshire // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:37 PM

@33 I tend to agree with the comment by Ba although I would say he is interested if he can score from any position. But that is the role of a goalscorer is it not?

  • 66 Toonacious T // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:48 PM

Right lads, going round in circles here. Personally the lack of motivation for the players began the day the summer transfer window closed imo. Pardew also looks like he has been found out. I don’t think we can win anything with MA at the helm because no manager worth his salt is going to be messed about the way AP has with regards money for transfers. Gym session at 6.30am so bed time for me. I will patiently
wait for our next league point

  • 67 nico // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:53 PM

Collo cost us tonight. He laid down for the first goal then didn’t mark up for the second. He’s been disappointing at the moment.

  • 68 nico // Dec 10, 2012 at 10:55 PM

On a positive note, I thought we played quite well and it was an entertaining game.
If we’d only brought in Debuchy, Douglas and another forward of quality.
I think this season we’ve devolved rather thyan evolved.

  • 69 AmericanGeordie // Dec 11, 2012 at 3:28 AM

    Ben Arfa

In that order. No one else worthy of discussion. Who votes for Tiote? He was miserable again.

  • 70 spudzzz // Dec 11, 2012 at 8:11 AM

decent performance again…at least we have encouraging signs that we are starting to play again and actually creating chances which is saying a lot considering teh drivel we’ve been served up since start of season. the worrying thing though is tht we were solid defensively last season and this season we let in crap goals….Both goals are Collocini’s fault….hate to say it as i think he is a class above most players we have, but Collo had a bad game yesterday….. Hopefully that’s his quota of mistakes done for the season

  • 71 lloydie780 // Dec 11, 2012 at 8:20 AM

Have to say i took alot of positives from last night as we played football in parts which we haven’t done for alot of the season. We deserved a draw last night. Two players seriously let us down (normally i would say 3 but Simpson played well minus his crossing) – Gutti and Williamson. I used to stand up for Williamson but there are so many mistakes in his game and as the game has been on tv it highlights them even more, very average played in a competitive league in a team where he should be 4/5th choice. good trier jsut not good enough. Other played is Gute, loved the guy but he cant keep posession and he cant pass. He loses the ball everytime he gets it, always gets deposessed or passes a wayard pass somewhere, he is offering nothing to us and especially in the first half i was paying he didn’t get the ball. I also dont get why we keep pumping the ball into the box aerially if we cant compete in the air (despite us having x3 6ft plus strikers), just a waste of time and ball, better drilling it across. I saw positives last night but these two really are struggling in this team now. I hope we really do buy in this window. Hopefully things will get better.
