Ukraine International striker Artem Milevskiy has been at Dynamo Kyiv since 2002, and it’s the only club he has ever played for. The 6’2″ striker is the same age as Demba Ba – 27 – and Artem is rumored to be a player Newcastle are witching and who could potentially be brought to Tyneside next month if Demba Ba leaves via that release clause in his contract.
Artem Milevskiy – Ukrainian striker
But the 50 times capped Ukrainian International is also out of contract in the summer, and so he could be brought into Newcastle on the cheap, and that sort of deal always appeals to Newcastle these days.
And we have to believe the Magpies have been watching several strikers, and if Ba does move, or Shola Ameobi goes off to the African Cup of Nations next month, then Newcastle will very likely bring in another striker, to finally strengthen the squad.
The story is in the Sun and the striker had previously been linked with Liverpool, but they also report that Kyiv could let him go for £6M in January, rather than lose him for nothing in the summer.
But there’s no way Newcastle will pay out that kind of money for a player who will become a free agent in six months.
The striker’s agent Barry O’Connor has confirmed there is interest form Premier League clubs for the striker:
“There is plenty of interest from more than one club in England.”
Artem could be a decent acquisition for Newcastle but not at £6M.
Artem Milevskiy has played 273 times for Kyiv with 87 goals, and 50 times for Ukraine with 8 goals.
Here’s some video of the player.

On santon. I thought Gary Neville (who is normally very good) was wrong on his assessment on Monday. He had moved into the correct position when we had possession in midfield. We lost the ball in a bad area which inturn left him exposed IMO.

Comment #4What we need is a young striker (20-23 years old max) who has an eye for goal and bags of pace. Someone like that will not come cheap so Ashley needs to realise whilst he has secured some excellent deals over the past couple of seasons, when it comes to a top class young striker or even a centre half your going to have to pay top dollar! And with the situation we are in now if he doesn’t cough up he needs to sell the club to someone who will and cares about this club more then profit margins etc. Surely he must realise with the wind fall coming to every club in the premier league next season that spending say £20-30 mil now will be paid back 2 or 3 times over???

your kidding right these are bad stats for his age, surely we can get a young lad who’s twice as good

Comment #6Jimiley personally I think seventh is a little too high for us as it stands, looking at our next four games we could come away with as little as three points and that would take us one game past the half way point with 18 games remaining and twenty points. Realistically we would need around 60 points to get 7th so that would be another 40 from 18 games. That’s 13 wins and 1 draw or at worst 11 wins and 7 draws to achieve 60 points. Now that’s all speculative rubbish so hopefully we can pick up more than 3 points from our next four games and push on from there. If we find our form we could very well finish 7th if we are taking points off the teams fighting for that position. We beat Tottenham and drew with Everton so who knows

Comment #8This lad is a proper team player. He would be available at around £3m. Would be a good fit for us, but would stil like Remy in also.
I really hope that we sign a couple in the first week of January.
A CM player is crucial as Cheick is away. Then a CB. Get those 2 done first then see if we can do more business. If the board don’t see the urgency of those 2 positions then they are fools. We need more but would be a miracle of there was 3 or more came in.

Comment #16I posted something similar earlier but there wasn’t too many people on, there is a lot of people comparing this season to the 2009 season when we went down with stats, what people must remember from that season is that we had a NUFC legend resign an imminent heart attack looming for his replacement, on top of fan unrest not seen since the early eighties, this year we have what is classed as the most stable period in our history with a manager in charge who is very unlikely to resign or have a heart attack, which stats do you think are worse.

Comment #20No we haven’t had any good games. Some people say we played well against Fulham and stoke but we out defence didn’t so that’s not a good performance. Our only decent game was against a 10 man Wigan.

Comment #21So the verdict is out!!!
The majority think that we are where we are because of lack of transfer activity, but the majority also thought back in august that we where in a better place than last season!

I wasn’t one who was happy with the last window and didn’t see it as progress, Guthrie, lovenkrands, smith and Forster seemed a lot to lose with only really Guthrie coming in, we also lost eight or nine young players. Everyone knew we needed two more defenders, perhaps a striker and midfielder too. I was amazed people quickly said we were better off when you never know how players will settle. We could very well sign Debuchy, Douglas, sissokko and a striker this window but who knows how they will settle?
If any of those posts regarding finishing seventh were aimed at me then you need to have a read of the comment again, 7th is a massive ask but is not out of reach. A couple I wins and we are back in the mixer and might have a good window for once, that is coming from someone who always thrives for better but even I can see not all is lost

of course it’s lack of transfer if i may recall Newcastle have always had loads of injuries from season to season for many years so i would of thought from the injuries history we would of bought in at least 5-6 more players instead of 1 and also we are in euro now so it would make perfect sense to bring in more layers

I think Campbell is ready. Pardew even said himself he is on par with shola in training and said another time shola is a key player so surely pardew thinks he is ready.
The reality is we won’t know if he can step up if he isn’t given a chance. Look t how sterling blossomed at Liverpool with a chance

Comment #30Transfer if that is the case then why isn’t Campbell being given a chance in training or when we are short? I’ve heard nothing but rave reviews for him yet gangster ranger ‘who
Must try harder to be on time’ gets an appearance before him. If you’re good enough you are good enough regardless of age, raheem sterling, jack Wiltshire.

I have no idea why he isnt given a chance.
He looks a class above in reserves and did well in the couple pre season games he featured.
No idea why pardew said e was competing with shola but seems to have no intention to play him. Ranger is useless, always has been. He is a thug who wasted his chance, Campbell should be ahead of him on talent and commitment.
Pardew is scared of change and tacking a chance. We saw that last year with no santon or Ben arfa for a long long time.

Comment #34Nick…hindsight only works to one’s advantages – I really don’t think that is a fair argument. People find excuses that fits the argument. Last season we finished 5th with the same team, same manager and we have even promoted some of the youngsters that didn’t participate last season. We have had the service of both Ba and Cissé from the begining of the season and Benny has been fit from the start.
Now we all wanted a few more signings and as for a CB we all wnated that last season as well – it is nothing new really. This hypocracy is really starting to annoy me; no one wants to take responsibility and the blame it always where it fit us the most. I like Pardew and I think he means well, but he has got to lay off the arrogance and accept he was wrong and move on (that’s what the better man does)!

Think we need a few good players in Jan, left or right back, striker and a centre half. Dare i say that if Ba wants to leave let him and buy a striker Cisse can play along side. If we can keep the team we had Mon with no more injuries things will get better.Yes we have a hard month ahead…….. Keep the faith….

Shearer banged in a top flight hatrick at the age of seventeen, either Campbell isn’t good enough in training or Pards likes him even less than Ranger.

Have you seen much of Campbell? Would love somebody else’s opinion I have seen a few games and he is special. He has won te Nike cup pre season player of tournament two years running. Players who won it once, tevez, xavi, Torres….he is a talent.
He has pace and would give us a different option. Stretch teams more and allow us to open more gaps. No idea why he hasn’t featured

Comment #39JFA…if the majority think we are where we are because of lack of transfer activity and the majority back in august thought we were better off this season compared to last season, wouldn’t quite a few people be represented in both categories?

Please mate take the blinkers off, it has nothing to do with HBA, Cisse or Ba, the defence needed seriously strengthening and it wasn’t even after average RM stroke utility player RTAylor was ruled out for the season.
