We don’t know how many players Newcastle will bring in next month, but the Newcastle manager Alan Pardew has said today that Newcastle will definitely be in the market for new players.
Alan Pardew – we’ll be in market for new players
Pardew has admitted that the Newcastle squad is currently weak with so many players out with injuries:
“On our side we look weak with the injuries we have sustained.” “We may need to bring a player in. We will be in the market as a few other clubs will be I am sure.”
“We play QPR next week and I am sure they will be busy. There will be some movement.” “For all the Premier League clubs, stability in this particular year is important because of the financial situation.”
“The bulk of the players we are going to have for the second half of the season are here.” “It would be nice to get one or two back like Steven Taylor and Cabaye, and as I say bring in one or two players to make us stronger.”
“We are a good side which is under-performing.” “There are reasons for that, but we cannot accept them.” “We have to work as hard as we can to turn the situation in our favor.”
And the question about next month is not only how many players Newcastle will bring in, but whether we’ll lose some players we already have – like Demba Ba for instance – who has that release clause in his contract becoming active again.
It seems an unnecessary diversion for a Newcastle aside who have to start picking up wins soon, or else we’ll be down there in the relegation zone.
We’d like to see three new players come through the door, but we doubt if Newcastle can get that many good players in their ranks by February.
