Ben Arfa Out – Perch Starts Against Manchester City

manchester-city-crest

Newcastle have brought back James Perch in the starting line-up for the game today against Manchester City at St. James’ Park.

But unfortunately it looks like that hamstring injury to Hatem Ben Arfa has kept his comeback short-lived, and the French Internationals will be sorely missed today against the Premier League Champions.

The team shows just that one change from the starting line-up at Craven Cottage on Monday night, and Perch for Ben Arfa shows how much creativity we have lost in the side today.

As expected Newcastle will play in a 4-3-3 lineup with Perch in midfield and Ba, Cisse and Gutierrez up front – and Ben Arfa doesn’t even make the bench.

The Ameobi brothers are both on the bench and could see some action in the second half.

This is another vital but tough game for Newcastle, and our players will have to shine if we are to get anything at all out of this game today.

Howay The Lads!!

Teams:

Newcastle United (4-3-3): Tim Krul; Danny Simpson, Mike Williamson, Fabricio Coloccini (c), Davide Santon; James Perch, Cheick Tiote, Vurnon Anita; Papiss Cisse, Demba Ba, Jonas Gutierrez
Substitutes: Rob Elliot, James Tavernier, Shane Ferguson, Gael Bigirimana, Sylvain Marveaux, Sammy Ameobi, Shola Ameobi

Manchester City (4-2-3-1): Joe Hart; Pablo Zabaleta, Kolo Toure, Matija Nastasic, Gael Clichy; Javi Garcia, Yaya Toure; Samir Nasri, Sergio Aguero, David Silva; Carlos Tevez

Referee: Andre Marriner (West Midlands)

    Terrible line up.

There is no link between attack and midfield. There is no width.

I can’t see where we will get a goal from.

I’m just hoping for a special goal from cisse or Ba.

Why is he still starting Guti? He’s really offered nothing this season, even going back he hasn’t been too great. *confused*

83….One of our long balls might be so over hit it might count as a shot on goal?

Oh well, we have 2 teams who have only won one game in their last six….both against Wigan. Don’t fancy out chances, but HWTL – give them hell.

I appreciate we are limited to options but I do think we have made a huge mistake in this line up which is a flat as a 4 4 2 you could ever imagine.
Ba and Cisse is not working and has no hope of working when we do not have one creative player in the team. I would have gone one up with Marveaux behind the lone striker.
Well there is always the corner or set play where we could get a goal and hangon, but then again we seem slightly lacking in set play goals as well.
Good luck lads we sure as hell are gonna need it.

No confidence whatsoever with that line up. Our strikers find it hard enough to get chances with the likes of Cabaye & Ben Arfa and that team has no creativity and is just Pardew looking not to get beat. Marveaux must be tearing his hair out

If we get a free kick or a corner it will go back post onto Willo’s head…. sick of seeing corners and free kciks wasted. Just whip it in for Cisse and Ba to ATTACK!!!

Better play with fire in our bellies today, cause we’ll mostly stop the oppositions play and hope for a worldie goal or two.
We need to play with passion, cause the oppositions team will murder us with their skill.
    Cmon lads.

If he cant get in our team at the minute, he’s never going to get in the team.

we saw it with santon and HBA now we are seeing it with jonas and i am thinking that if remy comes in we might as well hope ba or cisse are sold otherwise he will not play remy

Perch in midfield suggest Pard expect us to be routed. So he field a very defensive team in order to avoid a 4 or 5 to nil score.

The point is not that there not good enough, I think they are, but not all in one team, at the same time

Normal team blood them in , Pardew throws then in , normally out of position ,

The guy us a muppet a puppet a coward

This team, I’m sure he said he wanted to have ago at them ?

Its Man City we were always most likely to get pumped

Not sure what formation this is though? 442 with Santon on the wing? Or a 433 with Gutti playing attacking winger?
