Newcastle Likely To Do Player Exchange Deals In January

It’s now fairly certain that owner Mike Ashley will back Alan Pardew in the transfer window that opens on New Year’s day, and it seems that out of favor French International striker Loic Remy of Marseilles is one of our top targets.

mike ashley 987

Mike Ashley – will back Alan Pardew next month

But with so many defensive errors costing the club so many points over the last couple of months, we have to think there’s got to be more than one player coming through the door next month, and at least one new defender.

The Newcastle Journal (Mark Douglas) is reporting today that the manager is attempting to keep expectations down, but that it’s their understanding Newcastle will try to bring in one striker and one defender, and at the same time the club will try to unload one or two of our fringe players who have not made the grade at Newcastle.

And that being the case, it could well be that players like Sylvain Marveaux will be used in part exchange deals, and maybe some other players will be involved in player exchange deals too – to bring in some good new players to Tyneside next month.

It was a surprise when Alan Pardew said he hoped to get just one player through the door yesterday, and if players leave they too will need to be replaced.

But the proof of the pudding is always in the eating, and we expect to see at least one player signed by the club early in January – but who that player may be is not clear to us – but we are still hoping Newcastle can give us some pleasant surprises next month.

What do you think will happen?

I know people say one game at a time but if we lose to QPR we have Man u, Arsenal and Everton next!

I have a feeling we will have new players after the Everton game on the 2nd Jan and before Norwich on the 12th. The pressure will be right on Pards if we lose the above games and i can see the new signings deflecting criticism. How long he gets after that is anyones guess but i think he will get the next three Norwich, Reading & Villa.

It’s not a step back if you improve your qaulity. The step back is when the two players you sign are worse than those that leave.

We would all like to see 5 players come in but even if we create a better starting 11 then that is a step forward.

Part exchange deals are very rare…probably 1% of deals are done thsi way (involvign english sides).

Players might leave but I’m not too convinced on that…the time to mvoe fringe players on is the summer when you have time to reassess the needs of your squad.

Look forward to 3-4 players arriving in Jan.

Haha, it’ll be like selling Ben Arfa and signing Walcott and then selling Ba and signing Hernandez. I also think we’ll let Marveaux go and get Remy in. We NEED to keep MARVEAUX and BA and buy Remy outright.

this is a re post from the other day

if you think that this is down to injuries and lack of signings in the summer your mad,,
in every one of these matches below, we should have won the game with the team that played,, it wasnt weak teams that lost the games

also, i mentioned yesterday i find it very strange that everything at the club is set up for attacking football,

    scouts find attacking players first
carver, no 2 to SBR , we played fantastic attacking football under them
    steve stone, AMC
    beardo, amazing attcking player

yet since pardew got here we have played very defensive, looking to hold onto 1-nil leads 🙁
    swansea team
    west ham team
    southamton team
    reading game
    villa game

all these games we had a good enough side out to win the game

what i dont like is he is setting us up for 2 things now,, players leaving, or being pushed
    and losing v QPR

    it stinks

    No capital expenditure
They have said it enough times and that is one promise they have kept

All that will be spent is what they recoup from outgoings

Ba will go and so will anyone else they can get decent money for( Pardue has said we may lose 1/if they can sell Tiote i think he will be gone as well

to be honest, i think this is a good idea. we should get out the scrap bodies out of the club e.g. the likes of xisco, jonas and williamson and part exchange them for better players but i think that we should get a bit more for our money and should strenghen the squad and bring in somemore up and coming talent to play in the cup and the likes of europe so that the first teamers do get a rest to focus on the PL

we will not move forward until he sells our club to somebody with AMBITION he obviously has none atall. bad business to move on assets to rivals and replace them with lesser numbers and lesser quality, and bad for the team as we can see

I would have him in my starting 11 every game
My midfield for Saturday would be
Tiote, Perch – holding defensive midfielders
    Jonas – central
Anita and Marvo – attacking, creative ru at them
    with one up front
got to be Ba even with his transfer tantrums – cos he is finding the net

If went with 4 in midfield
    Tiote, Perch
    Anita and Marvo
drop Jonas out and put Cisse in

though i see some potential in Obertan as well, i would rahter see Marveaux stay, and Obertan leave.

Marveaux is the ACM we need. i think it it obvious.
Maybe Pards is trying not to force him into the game to fast, as he did last season with Ben Arfa. maybe

I think a young centre back and Debuchy or another full back would have made a lot of difference and wouldn’t have cost the world. Signing debuchy might have given cabaye the kick up the behind he needed early on. We have made far too many silly mistakes at the back and they have cost us, most goals we concede out through our own faults and I think someone posted a link to a stat how we we now average a costly defensive error every 80 minutes compared to 200 minutes last season. We all think we need two on three players in minimum so who do we thin might leave? I think the extra one player will be a central defender. Simpson may be sold and another full back brought in, if Ba leaves then perhaps another striker in remy or a more affordable one. Remy seems a tad too virtuous in my eyes even though his current stats don’t impress. All we need after that is perhaps a winger to leave.

We’ve needed a centre half in for ages and we let Best and Loven go in the summer and not replaced them then.
We are run on a shoe-string, our club must be making a profit now and for the last 18 months, the bulk of the Carroll money still there (or player trading money, however you look at it) and we penny pinched in the summer and didn’t do enough.

Maybe January is too late to rectify mistakes, I hope it isn’t but for every 3-4 players I hear coming in there’s 2-3 players wanting to leave. Going to be a great Christmas, cheers Ashley.

TBH – Obertan & Marveaux aint good enough to get us into the top six anyway IMO. I was disappointed with Marveaux’s application against Bordeaux, he strolled around in that game, which is not what you wanna be doing if you want to get into the first 11!

Give the Smoggies Willo and a couple of million for their Aussie captain Rhys Williams.

Sign Douglas for a couple of million.

Sell Ba for 7.5m, get Remy for 10m.

Outlay of about 7.5m – a measly amount in PL terms – a window I’m sure nobody would complain about.

Joe @ 30 +1 on the Willo / Willaims swap deal. Much as I think Willo is over criticised, he isn’t great either, whereas Williams is a cracking little player.

    Sell Tiote for £20m

    Debuchy – £6m
    Alderewerield – £6.5m
    Sissoko – £2m
    Diame – £3.7m
    Remy – £9m p.e with Obertan

Part-exchange Remy with Obertan (£9m total)

    Total outlay = £5.2m

He’s what I’d categorise as a typical Moyes buy. Everyone can see he’s got talent, but not many would ‘risk’ laying out money to see if he can step-up to the PL. When he eventually does, after a few seasons he’ll be one of the more consistent good PL players – we’ve seen Moyes do it with Lescott, Jagielka, Cahill, Baines and probably a few more I’ve forgot.

Looking at him now, I would say he’s deffo capable, he’s been consistent for the last 2 seasons, and Boro’s best player in that same timeframe by a country mile. With or without any kind of swap we should go for him. He’s also very adaptable, can play anywhere accross the back 4 or as a DM, and seems equaly capable in any of those roles.

We Need Players for the Europa league. Probably Ship out Nile Ranger on Loan in a deal for Remy. We Need marvaux that would be just Daft. We need to spend at least 10 Million. Also Get Shot of Simpson and Get Debouchey in. He wants to go to london anyway to be with the New Bird.. Word is he is on the X factor next year .. Word is We are in advanced talks with Remy Today so that would be good…
