News in the Evening Chronicle today that Demba Ba in fact will not be fined for giving that interview to Canal+ recently, in which he said Arsenal was an attractive club, and that he didn’t much like the way Newcastle were playing high balls into the box these days.
Demba Ba – after scoring against Manchester City
The truth seems to be that Demba Ba didn’t break any rules at all at Newcastle, and therefore there is no basis on which to give him a fine.
Demba Ba is immersed a bit in controversy at the moment, since most of us cannot believe he would walk away from a Newcastle side in dire straights at the moment, but walk away he may do – and some of his comments of late even seem to be setting things up that he could leave Newcastle next month.
It’s hard to know what Ba really thinks – but his agents are very clear by their actions – they want their client to move to a big club for a massive wage – thereby maximizing the money they will make out of the deal.
We’ll just have to wait and see what happens – we sincerely hope he stays on Tyneside.
The Senegal striker has scored 11 goals in 19 appearances for Newcastle this season, and has 27 goals in 55 appearances for the Magpies – a simply fantastic record.

Comment #2MIKE ASHLEY is making plans which he hopes will allow Newcastle United to “challenge for everything” within five years.
The Toon tycoon is sifting his way through a financial programme that will clear debts left behind by the previous regime and allow Newcastle to compete in the transfer market with the rest of the Premier League and European big guns.
United have mapped out their future and are banking on their youth and academy system to bring through the best in homegrown and foreign talent.
Managing director Derek Llambias told the Chronicle: “In five years’ time I would hope we would be challenging for everything

well i think if there was a plan there it was abandond at the end of last season,
i can see no reason for them to have not brought in more players in the summer, this year more than most would have been great, 1, new money deal next year, 2 europe,,
being in europe and a good finnish in the league means more money,, its self funding in a way
pardew complains about it, but it is where the club needs to be,
what i find strange is every one talking about how poor our squad is, lack of depth, pardew makes 9 changes for european games, and wins, fergy makes a couple and wins,
there is the same rest time for games, so why does pardew feel the need to play 2 different teams,,

one thing
who do you think is the better manager pardew or CH
i like CH alot, i would have really liked to see what he could have achieved at our club, however i dont think he was / is the the guy to get you to that next level,,
i,e, chalenging for top 4, but i think he would be doing much better than AP is right now and probably always will do better than him

Comment #8Catchy…Well the first issue is whether you believe a plan was really in place. Assuming it was…
….You say it was clearly scrapped in the summer. You know my feelings here and that for now I am thinking arrogance got in their way in that they could wait for the targets they wanted rather than moving on down the list. That would be a mistake, not a complete scrapping of the plan. You’re comments are very final and unforgiving, but maybe you’re right. We’ll see.
A lot of us felt even with our good season last year we still needed new players in. We’re not the complete article, never have claimed to be, so yes, we think we need strengthening and that’s without considering EL fixtures.
On CH vs AP….I loved CH, but did feel he would be somewhat limited in how far he can go. I don’t think there is too much to chose between them tbh. I don’t know what to base a further opinion on really.

Comment #13how can he slag off how we are playing when it is all built around him? pardew has bent over backwards 2 keep him happy so we are laying this way for him, i much prefered him out wide and cisse thru the middle, it suited the team as results showed. bad managenent top 2 bottom

Comment #14Shrewd move by the club – if not fining him is a move – it gives him no reason to throw a his toys out of the pram.
The ball’s very much in Ba’s court if he wants to go and frankly, if he aint happy,it’s best he does – soon otherwise we’ll not get the fresh striker we need.
