Some good news today that some of our best players out injured are due to return in mid- January and that will have to be good news for Newcastle fans.
Yohan Cabaye – back by mid-January?
Alan Pardew talked today about those players who are out injured and with up to three new players conning through the door early in January – hopefully – then we could have six new players to choose form by mid-January.
This is what Alan Pardew said in the local press today:
“Forget about new transfers, there are some serious players coming back In January.” “We will have Steven Taylor, Yohan Cabaye and Hatem Ben Arfa returning, which will help me pick the team.”
“But I have four Premier League games and a FA Cup tie to get through without them. We need one, maybe two wins, which would be six or seven points out of that. This is what we need to aim for.”
We think the player Newcastle are missing most at the moment could be Steven Taylor, who is usually very solid at the back, and both Colo and Mike Williamson have not looked at their best in the last few games, although we are hoping the Newcastle defense is solid this afternoon.
And there’s a good possibility that Ben Arfa could even return for ther FA Cup third round game at Brighton on Saturday 5th January and in the next 14 days Newcastle have five games to play.
With players coming back from injury and hopefully new players being signed in January, we should be much stronger next month, but Alan’s right to say the next four league games are very important, and we need to pick up as many points as we can – starting this afternoon against QPR.
