An update on my health situation - we have terminated the PluVicto treatment halfway through, because of the severity of the side effects - diarrhea, vomiting, and acid reflux.
And there was no evidence the treatment was having any positive effect in stopping the prostate cancer from spreading in the bones.
There are no treatments left for me to go on.I will go into home hospice care now and will have a hospice nurse visit me at home regularly to ensure I am as comfortable as possible and we will treat the side effects of the treatments I have had.
It's down the final stretch now, and I have run out of treatments, and nature will now take its course.
I hope Newcastle can get many wins this season from now on, and I am at peace with all of this.
Thanks for all your help through the years - it's very much appreciated

Comment #1It wasn’t the best performance today, but we won and that’s all that matters. Obertan seemed like a rejuvenated player when he came on and should start instead of Jonas. Marveaux also shone when he replaced Tiote and Shola done the business when he arrived.
You could feel the relief when we scored.

Comment #2marv or cabaye must be in the team for me aswell as anita and we need to learn how to take free kicks and be a threat from corners

Comment #4Massive 3 points today like.
Hopefully Marveaux & Obertan start next game.
Fair play to Redknapp if he keeps Qpr up,because they’re bloddy awful. By far the worst team in the league.

thoughts on today;
buzzing for the win for a start. at 55 mins i thought it was a nailed on 0-0 which would have been very disappointing for all the possesion we had and how POOR qpr looked.
couple of concerns, one being the lack of a cutting edge/creativity. how much i would love to see marveux starting a run of games. if he doesnt then weve really missed an oppertunity and he will leave. really think anita and marveux could help us make more opertunities instead of relying so heavily on anita atm.
also for me if gutierrez starts next game in the front 3 then some serious questions need to be asked. id be happy if he started in a midfield 3 or as a fullback but he is no-longer an attacking player. possibly the fact that pardew finally hauled him off today might mean he has finally conceeded this.
finally i was glad to see obertan come on and add something to the game. was happy to hear the crowd getting exited when he recieved the ball and not expecting the worst aswell. this has got to be good for him. iv been saying for ages his displays in the europa league have warrented serious minutes in the pl. especially when certain other players have been consistantly under-performing in a position he could thrive in.
which leads me on to my final point about obertan again. does any1 that has watched all our europa games think, like me that his better position could be lw?? he has a tendency to cut in on the right which is not ideal when hes right footed. but when hes on the left iv seen him go either way and atleast then hes cutting in onto his stronger foot.

Comment #10to me, Ba looked like a man who doesn’t want to play for this football club anymore; whereas Papiss played with a smile on his face and was once again the better of the two.
Mr. Pardew, Ba goes on the left of the front 3 until he’s off, no question about it. Papiss has earned it!

Comment #11Dannyo …….from the previous thread. They were booing the decision to take Cisse off. Supporting him. As soon as he left the field, there was a massive cheer for Shola. It was a point made to Pardew that they support Papiss and that others should be off before him.
Cisse did well again on the right. He again tried everything, and everyone thought he should have been given a chance through the middle against Nelsen. BA looked as though he couldn’t trap a bag of cement today. And taking all the free kicks now too? Next week he will be taking the goal kicks for Krul.

i wouldnt encourage them hahaha
seriously though qpr were truely awful today, and i could be negative if i chose to think that way. as we were very wasteful and lacking of a cutting edge.
but we can be happy for a few days atleast

thats what i was thinking mate. i think although hes been our main goal scorer hes made himself toxic to the team. i truely believe cisse would start scoring if given a run up top. think his all roud play has been good an un-selfish. whereas ba looks to be playing for himself

Comment #14Maybe Pardew seen the light today. lol
As soon as Jonas went off, we played a much higher tempo. Before that we never looked like scoring.
Qpr are rubbish, Redknapp will have some task keeping them up.

Agree on the quality of the opposition. But the journey of the next 20 games has started with 3 points. Fulham are only one goal ahead of us. Dunno what their fixture list looks like mind for the next few weeks.

Comment #16Agree. Cisse has proven himself as a footballer, and not just a goalscorer recently, his touch is absolutely immaculate and his agility is out of this world. He offers so much as a striker, and must be given the central role, starting on boxing day!

Comment #19If we do manage 2 or even 3 points off the next two games it’ll be a bonus and surely improve the lads’ confidence. I guess even one point would do that.

just hopeing for an altered starting line up for man utd (obviously tiotes out anyway) otherwise i find it hard to see us taking anything away from there
even if he moved jonas into tiotes position and put marveux where jonas was

Maybe Oba is ready for a start as LW or even half an hour as sub.
The problem of Jonas remains to be solved, as does the Ba/Cisse situation.

Comment #26Well 3 points in the bag not a commanding performance but we were never threatened just lacked a attacking spark
Not sure how Marv cant start the next game with Tiote suspended (dont see why Perch would start what does he offer?)
Didnt agree with people booing Cisse getting subbed he was alright today but didnt really do much plus Ba and Shola offered the muscle up front which left QPRs defense all over the place

perhaps they’re not refreshing the page hoping to get into some kind of endless internet skirmish with you
my thoughts:
boring game, qpr BY FAR the worst team in the league.
something is not right with this squad….beyond the questionable tactics etc…..pretty sure it rests with Ba and Pards. Agree with toonLYF, Ba is on the left or on the bench. He’s gone anyway, why appease him, Alan? Mind-boggling, really
still, relieved and ecstatic with the win. keeps our heads just above water for the next onslaught of games that, frankly, we probably won’t take much from, if anything.
great three points today, even if it was boring as all hell to watch

Comment #28Ba is top goalscorer & we’re drawing 0-0 at home. I thought it was the right decision.
If Cisse was banging them in this season, Ba would of been hauled off.
We looked way better when Cisse & Jonas went off anyway.
