Newcastle are unchanged from last week when we lost to Manchester City for the important game against QPR this afternoon.
Gabriel Obertan returns to the bench after recovering from his toe injury, and both Ameobi brother and veteran goalkeeper Steve Harper are on the bench today.
Shane Ferguson, Gale Bigirimana and Sylvain Marveaux make up the substitutes for Newcastle.
This is an important game and we can get the Christmas season going on the right note with a win this afternoon, which will be only the second win in the last 12 games if we can do it.

Yeah i think Marveux blew his chance against Bordeux as well although it was not his fault as he was put on the wing and e played the long ball the whole night which meant he could not get involved
Never like to wish injury on players but that would look like the only way Jonas will get dropped thing is Jonas probably could do a good job at right back or right wing as he is right footed but we always play him on the left which means he has to cut inside and always loses the ball would be better if he could just whip the ball in with his right
Also watching Arsenal Wigan game the gunners are not all that good like if we play the right formation and actually attack them there defense is there for the taking

While we didn’t play too bad against City, I still can’t believe we play Jonas instead of Marveaux. Jonas is completely out of confidence, and seems to only run around collecting free kicks. Another issue is playing Cissè on the wing. He is a center forward who is meant to finish attacks. He’s completely missused on the wing because of poor passing abilities, and lack of trickery and pace.

Marveaux stood out against Wigan did well against Man City. I think Pardew wants to get sacked and go away on holiday somewhere. He’s deliberately trying to wind the fans up by playing Gutierrez instead of Marveaux. I also thinks it’s a joke how he is threatening Cisse to be replaced be Shola. I could understand it if Remy or Ba was on the bench.
I can’t see us getting more than a point today. They gave us a tough game last year. They are much stronger and will shoot up the league.

Aye, this formation and the personnel in it, just highlight the lack of creativity and ability to slice through them. If you’re gonna focus all your attacks down either wing, have players who are comfortable getting to the byline and whipping quality deliveries in, not to mention get more bodies in the box.
We’ve set-up in such a way that we make it difficult for ourselves from the off, just to make a clear-cut chance is a struggle.

We have been camped in their half for the whole time
Jonas and Santon’s Final ball is terrible we are crying out for Marveux or Ferguson’s delivery as if we get a goal i think QPR will crumble
It is good that we are keeping it on the deck though if we had played like this when we had Arfa and Cabaye in the team we would not be at the bottom of the league

We look alright but we are waning a bit.
I kinda hope Ba leaves, so we can get a different type of striker in. Confident cisse would score given main striker role. Wonder why we won’t go back in for Kevin Gameiro. Just as fast as remy but with a slightly better finish IMO, and just as skilful.

Well we have not created any clear cut opportunities against the worst side in the league….and what’s more our defense look woeful when up against the counter-attack.
Anita is probably again the best player on the pitch so far IMO. Tiote’s been good in midfield but should opt to pass than shoot himself…LOL! Evidently IMO we definitely need to sign a CAM and Sissoko would be perfect but I am dreaming on that account. Jonas has been OK but has no legs…..seriously would very very strongly put Marveaux on at half time. We have got to win this FFS!

Santon – QPR are letting us camp in their half. You will see a different QPR at some point in the second half i would think. Without Hatem we have very little creativity. I think QPR will be happy to let us have the ball wide as they know they can deal with the ball in as only Ba is in there. Still some good possession and at the mo are looking the more likely to win. Marv n Obertan should be starting from the off in my opinion. Anita and Santon great game by both. Still not sold of AP but today’s result has definitely bought him a little time……better make sure we have a better transfer window than last. Anyway above scum and a little better off in the table, I’ll be able to breathe a little easier.

Perfect day – bottom four loose wigan, reading, QPR and S’hampton and we pull 5 points clear of relegation – thank **** for that!!!
We have some hard teams which we’d probably have lost against anyway, then Cabaye, HBA and Saylor return for some easier fixtures and hopefully some January reinforcements – if we can add a couple of quality players we’ll be ok I think but what a woeful season so far.

Ameobi and Obertan changed the game. Marv played well but its not like he made a drastic change. Game was piss poor and I was falling asleep till Ameobi and Obertan came on.

so pardews subs change the game completely but i’m not betting on any praise for him at all!
and again people saying marv should start coz he played well when he came on, it was a perfect time in the game for him and ober to come into it was always gonna be a cagey game the pressure on that team today was immense!

Marv played well and should start end off…..he should not be sold/ swapped either. Gabbs did well…Jonas did not have a bad game but his legs are clearly gone….shame but his only future for the club is as a DM not a wing…….end of.
