Obertan changed the game as did Ameobi. Still p1ss poor but 3 points none the less.

    Arise Sir Shola!

Wonder if his detractors would like some seasoning or dressing to add to their words when they eat ’em!

  • 4 nufc786 // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:02 PM

    bring on utd

  • 5 toonicle // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:02 PM

    Anita does great once again!

  • 6 ~Anita One Bites the Dust~ // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:02 PM

    Anita MoM for me.
    Santon close second.
    Ameobi 3rd.

Wasn’t too impressed with his dive at the end, but at least he didn’t try to appeal the yellow. Took it like a man and got on with the game, unlike a couple divers in this league.

  • 7 Spuggy // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:03 PM

Has to be ameobi – one moment of class probably saved us from relegation.

  • 8 Baro // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:03 PM

    its about dam time….

    we need more wins…

  • 9 Spuggy // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:04 PM

I thought Obertan was very good on the LW when he came on, albeit against a tired team. He blows so hot n cold though.

  • 10 Tommyy // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:05 PM

Said last night I’d take a scrappy poor 1 – 0 win, but not lightly. Nothing’s changed but hopefully gives them some confidence and Pardew a fresh perspective on Marveaux. it’s also bought him some time.

  • 11 Ruddy Marveaux-lous // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:05 PM

Anita for me, this lad is the real deal and is getting better and better every time I see him.

Fantastic 3 points, much needed but it was made much harder than it should have been, we struggle massively to create, we need to get this sorted some way or another.

I understand Cisse’s frustrations, he played excellently down the RW, his touch, work rate endeavour alone should have made Pards put him down the middle and bench Ba.

The sooner we get rid of that egotistical prima dona the better. Demba Ba your days are numbered, hasta la vista, get the hell out of my club you greedy git.

  • 12 Dannyo // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:05 PM

Loving it! Thank you Shola, thank you AP.

  • 13 Jonny // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:05 PM

Tiote had a top class game today.

  • 14 Spuggy // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:05 PM

If HBA scored that goal he’d get the most votes.

It was a world class piece of skill from Ameobi!

  • 15 bottle // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:06 PM

Well Toon Trolls bet you’re miserable now.
Who was it wanted us to lose ????
    We got THREE points.

Get yer heids back out yer jaxsies and quit whinging.
    Try supporting the Toon.

  • 16 Tinman // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:06 PM

Based on that performance team I would play this team against Manure:

    Simp, Willo, Collo, Santon
    Obertan, Perch, Anita, Marv,
    Cisse, Ameobi

Ba was shit, he is obviously gone so stop playing him. Give our players who will be staying some game time and confidence and support (Ameobi and Cisse)

  • 17 BelfastMagpie // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:06 PM

    I voted for Obertan.

    Go on son. 🙂

Hope thats the end of Cisse Rw.

  • 18 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:07 PM

Marveaux changed the game. Obertan kept over-running the ball.

  • 19 Tommyy // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:07 PM

Still think we’ll get battered by Man Utd however.

  • 20 ~Anita One Bites the Dust~ // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:07 PM

I don’t really see Cisse and Ameobi having good chemistry with one another, whereas in the past Ba and Ameobi have shown a more fruitful partnership up front. I reckon that was one of the key factors in his decision to keep Ba on instead of Cisse.

  • 21 Toon1978 // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:08 PM

SERIOUS investment in January please. We are screaming out for a full back, centre back, midfielder and a striker. Tiote banned again. Sorry but if any bid comes in for Tiote i hope we sell.

  • 22 Tinman // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:08 PM

All this bollox about eating your words over Ameobi, everyone knows he can do it but very rarely does and THAT is why a lot of fans dislike him.

  • 23 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:09 PM

Even though Man Utd are a poor overrated team, we’ll still make silly mistakes as Simpson and Williamson aren’t good enough. Willo should’ve been sent off today. an’t believe he didn’t get a yellow after that cynical challenge right at the death.

  • 24 Graeme // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:09 PM

I think Bambi is now averaging something like one goal every FIVE games. Today he played his 350th game for a return of 76 goals.

What a striker, what a record!!

  • 25 Oleg G // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:10 PM

Ba should’ve been benched and not Cisse
Jonas should be on bench already for months. Marv should play instead of Perch and Obe to try instead of Jonas. When Cabaye and HBA are back, we should not be playing with Jonas as a starter.
Marv HBA and Cabaye should be our midfielders. Why Marv doesn’t get any chances at Newcastle?

Simpson thinks he is HBA sometimes.

  • 26 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:11 PM

That’s not that bad as he’s been sub in most of those games.

  • 27 keeganjr // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:12 PM

Before the subs: Anita og Santon… After: obertan, marv and shola bambi ameobi changed the game.. Thank god for that

  • 28 woolerbill // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:12 PM

Anita and Ben will fight it out for our player of the year.

  • 29 toonking // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:13 PM

when cisse reacted like he did with being taken off i can totally understand it.
why should he accept being subbed when you have ba when we know is now probably going to leave in january still being treated as the main forward and pardew warning him if he does not score he will be dropped yet deciding to play him on the wing when he is a CF.
on the other hand ba was subbed because he was playing poor in his correct position also we know he wants his own way when he makes threat of quitting if he is not played as a CF unlike cisse who has not said anything yet despite being shoved OOP

  • 30 blew // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:15 PM

Well played Anita, Santon not far behind.
Shola, Marveaux and Oberton freshened things up and gave the side more movement.
    Precious 3 points

  • 31 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:16 PM

Ba was playing LW when he was subbed nit his correct position

  • 32 dutchy // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:16 PM

Drop Ba not Cisse as Ba will be leaving us and does not care one bit about us anymore.

  • 33 woolerbill // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:18 PM

Why Marv can get a start, is because of manager with no b-ll’s.

  • 34 toonking // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:21 PM

well he might of been on the wing too but still why the hell should cisse accept being played out wide warned that he has to score or be dropped while ba who will be leaving is still allowed to be the main CF.
what pardew comes out with a lot makes me wonder does he have a brain

  • 35 Jamiemac // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:27 PM

Didn’t manage to watch the game today – was out. Can someone tell me who were good and bad? Sounds like we were comfortable but didn’t create much?

  • 36 woolerbill // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:33 PM

Todd came after the subs came on, not for the first time so please think about it Mr Pardew.

  • 37 tehtolak // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:36 PM

Personally, i will put full of credit to AP, he made the changes at the right time, right person, and right tactics have well displayed after the subs. Pappis just couldn’t get rid of the defenders, at times he mis-passed alots..

Obertan has well deserved the commendation as he worked very hard in both defensive and attacking roles,
where by Santon, Col, and Anita also played decently in their own pos respectively. Shola remains the Super-sub of Newcastle !!

Howay the lads! Lets hope we could get smth frm Man Utd match 😀

  • 38 woolerbill // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:36 PM

That last comment under my is not mine. Does ed play games?

  • 39 K T Cat // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:39 PM

Man, I am totally out of step with most of you. I watched the entire game and this thought kept running through my head: if you were playing against them, is there anyone on Newcastle who scares you? The answer to me is, without HBA, no.

I saw Ba’s selfishness today as some of you have said and for whatever reason, Cisse looks completely lost out there. I’m going to stick up for Jonas – he bombed balls into the box for the first 30 minutes and it was like no one was there. Ba and Cisse did nothing with them.

As for Anita, I don’t see it. I’d play Marveaux over him any day of the week.

Having poked the hornet’s nest like that, let me suggest that Ba plus the injuries to Cabaye and HBA may be the whole problem. Ba seems to be a black hole in the center, absorbing opportunities and not letting them back out. Get rid of him, put Cisse there and get HBA back and we might have a threat. Right now, we got nothing at all. I think Ba has 10 goals because he’s taken 90% of all scoring opportunities.

I’m not down on Jonas like the rest of you. He looked the same as he always has, steady and solid, crossing balls in. There’s just no one there on the other end.

  • 40 woolerbill // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:43 PM

    The game changed
after the subs came on, not for the first time so please think about it Mr Pardew.

  • 41 K T Cat // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:44 PM

One more thing. The team has no speed at all until Marveaux and Gabby come in. The other side never has to panic because they might be outrun. Cisse and Ba don’t have speed and they don’t have HBA’s quickness. The entire game was played at the QPR end of the field and they couldn’t get past QPR’s wretched defense.

    Nile Ranger, anyone?

  • 42 thepict // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:50 PM

Why was Cisse substituted today and not Ba? M.O.M ANita.

  • 43 K T Cat // Dec 22, 2012 at 5:57 PM

Thepict, to me it looks like Pardew is all in with Demba Ba. He’ll play him as the focal point until he leaves the team

  • 44 budmon // Dec 22, 2012 at 6:35 PM

Ba holds the ball up extremely well. Cisse has NO confidence. suprised tiote came off intead of perch again for marv today. not complaining, 3 points!

Big relief and happy for Shola. great goal in a shit match

  • 45 croftus5678 // Dec 22, 2012 at 6:56 PM

erm reason for the substitute was easy ba scores and is in form cisse is not.
imo pards was spot on with his sub’s

  • 46 Crawfordladd17 // Dec 22, 2012 at 7:04 PM

I can’t believe what I am hearing, get ride of Ba. shut up, he is our best striker since Shearer and our 3 first names on the team sheet, after Krul and Ben Arfa. We need Remy £8m, Douglas £3m, Debuchy £6m
