There was some good news for a change about some of Newcastle’s injured players yesterday, and it seems that Vurnon Anita, who has started to look a very good player for Newcastle lately, didn’t sustain serious damage to his ankle.
Vurnon Anita – in action on Wednesday
Vurnon was stretchered off very late in the game after a mistimed sliding tackle from Antonio Valencia, and at first it looked like it was a really serious ankle injury to one of our best players.
But in his press conference yesterday for the tough Arsenal game tomorrow, Alan Pardew had good news and had this to say:
“That doesn’t look as bad, fortunately – that really was, you know, the last kick we didn’t want in terms of the way the game unfolded for us.” “It looks like heavy bruising to his ankle, but he will definitely not play at Arsenal, but will have a chance in the next couple of games.”
That’s good to hear, but we wonder who will play the attacking central midfield role tomorrow at the Emirates?
It could be Gael Bigirimana, and the 19 year-old certainly didn’t look out of his class on Wednesday afternoon at Old Trafford, and he showed what a really promising player he is.
It could be that Gael will partner the returning Cheick Tiote in central midfield,
Who would you play in Vurnon attacking central midfield role?
