French U21 Internationals Sylvain Marveaux and Gabby Obertan both get a start at the Emirates Stadium this afternoon.
And with Vurnon Anita injured Gael Bigirimana comes in for the Dutchman in central midfielder and will play the attacking role for Newcastle against Arsenal this afternoon, with James Perch at center-back alongside captain Fabricio Coloccini.
It looks like Newcastle may be playing a variation of 4-5-1 with Demba Ba up front on his lonesome, but Alan Pardew has tried to put some creativity ion the side with Obertan and Marveaux, who are both in good form at the moment.
With so many Newcastle players out injured, youngsters James Tavernier, Shane Ferguson, Mehdi Abeid and Sammy Ameobi all make the bench, and we were right in our match preview (that makes a nice change!), that 18 year-old center-back South Shields born Remie Streete is also on the bench for the first time ever.
Newcastle need something out of this game today.

Comment #82Tiote is a poor footballer. He only gets by on his aggression in the tackle, but even that’s been flawed this season.

Comment #863-4 horrible passes already that didn’t go anywhere near…….. How football players don’t know how to pass is beyond me.
Also, the free kick where Colo took in the end. Marv…. Tiote…. Colo…. wasting time in the end we get an attack on the other side.
This is why I like Santon. He always has this urgency in his touch and movement. Half of our players are sleeping right now.

Comment #96I pray these two games will be enough to keep Marv in the team. Done more than Jonas has in the whole season. Finally we are looking relatively dangerous from corners and free kicks and that pass to Ba (when called offside) was the first piece of real creativity i’ve seen from us for a very ling time.

Comment #109ffs Simpson all your fault it was off side but you could of easily intercepted that poor pass. Even the arsenal fans thought it wouldn’t reach podolski.

Comment #112The best thing that can happen to us in january is we sell demba ba and get a versatile defender in like williams from boro!!
demba ba is just shooting from everywhere he is so damm selfish and full of himself.
gurantee you results will improve next year

Comment #120Tiote is poor today so far.
I like Colo’s touch in the last third of the pitch.
He has a good control of the ball and a nice cross.
