Newcastle Again Linked With Argentine Midfielder

Anderlecht Argentine International midfielder Lucas Biglia wants to move to a club in a bigger league, so that he has a chance to be selected in Argentina’s World Cup squad for the FIFA World Cup in Brazil, in a couple of years time.

Lucas Biglia

Lucas Biglia – wants to play in bigger league

The 26 year old has been linked with Newcastle over the last couple of months, although Arsenal are also said to be interested in the Argentine central midfielder.

Indeed, Real Madrid, Fiorentina and AC Milan on the continent have also been reported as having an interest in the 7 times capped Argentine International.

This is what the 26 year-old defensive midfielder told Het Nieuwsblad:

“Time is running out.” “I don’t have to be at a big top team, just to a bigger league. I need that if I want to play with Argentina in 2014 at the World Cup.”

“If I arrive in Argentina my manager will pick me up at the airport. I have asked him to tell me in Buenos Aires what my options are. I hope to begin after New Year’s Eve. In England, Spain and Italy there is not a real winter break.”

“It’s clear Spain and Italy are dream destinations but I won’t close the gate on Russia.”

Defensive midfield is not a real pressing need at the moment for Newcastle, at least compared to getting some defenders or strikers into the club next month, but this lad looks like a decent player.

But we’d like to see a couple of defenders and a striker brought in during January, and if Ben Arfa, Yohan Cabaye and Steven Taylor can also return next month – we may be back in business.

But it’s now up to the Newcastle Board (read that as Mike Ashley and Derek Llambias) to show us they have ambition for the club.

We’ll know soon enough.

“I adapted well to playing with Demba Ba when I signed last season and he is a vital player for Newcastle,”
“I hear the decisions from the directors at the club but, personally, I don’t think this is good news for us.”

Quotes from Cisse, what on earth is going on at our club. Their is definitely some unrest at the club amongst the players, the board just give off the wrong impression.

Catchy – i must say i agree with a lot of your Pardew points, however you are starting to become pretty boring, if you dont mind me saying.

Cant you change the record, maybe slagging Simmo constantly for a change would go down well with me 🙂

I wouldn’t be surprised if the players have got news that we intend to sell so we can buy. Jose Enrique wasn’t being malicious when he claimed our board were unambitious and I would love to talk to joey Barton about the clowns in charge

“do you think he has a switch that makes him talk jibberish to us the media and fans, then intelegent to the coaches and players”

When ufc fighters or boxers go round bad mouthing opponents before fights do you think they go round bad mouthing all their coaches, agents and friends aswell? (granted there will be exceptions)

He’s in a sport and business, just because he says something doesn’t mean he means it

    check

    id love to

    BUT

the problem with simpson is pardew picks him,, he does have optiions

pardew does himself no favours at all picking a player that wont sign a contract, a player that isnt good enough anyway,, its not like its HBA where you can get what ever you can out of him,,

let simpson rot with the kids

Very nice, i realise that he isn’t the most talented natural football ever but he gives it his all, imagine if you were in his shoes giving your all every week then heard your fans saying he can rot in the reserves, some fans really need to get a reality check

    thats a weak reply

cos what your saying is pardew is out to bamboozzle with his supperiour interlect

boxers fighters and wrestlers all do it for show,, its there sport

we expect the guy to come out and talk to us and make some sense of what happened in a match

what did he get out of coming out and telling everyone, me and colo have had a falling out this week,, we are both winners,,

no one new, none of us where asking,, so why???

Maybe they found out the papers had something so they thought we wil beat them to it so they can’t spin it

Just a thought, god knows what goes on behind the scenes especially with someone like Ashley in charge, but what i can say is that we will never know and we will never probably know what Pardew really makes of each performance and match

no i dont think i do

i think if you look, not just at newcastle at every club, we all have players getting way to much money for there ability, for them getting that money we expect a level from them,

and just because he gives his all dont make him an automatic first team choice,, yet he seems to be

i read more about him outside of football than in football,,

is it football he should be thinking about or going around shagging z list stars??

the team is in trouble right now,, where is his mind? girls and a new club,, not us

fray despite my comments @12 I think you are correct @11 in respect of the press discovering something.
I think this explanation fits the bill why Percy Parsnip revealed the spat with Collo -when nobody else appeared to have an inkling that such an event occurred.
It is important that the manager -the front man at a club – comes out with a consistent theme promoting the club/players. Not doing so leads to confusion and dare I say it instability which is an aspect which has plagued Newcastle.

I made my reality check statment in regards to someone saying that a player that has appeared to always give his all for our club should rot in the reserves, its like wishing bad on somebody you don’t really know and by that i mean they need a reality check

    no

i think your reading it all wrong,,

    yes i moan about pardew,,

i think the players should have a social life, but they should think about the club first. if the club are doing well you will get patted on the back by everyone out there and lots of drinks bought for you,,

but in simpsons case,, he is one of the players letting us down the most, and you have to ask yourself,, if he sees his future elsware, why would he put it in for the club? him pissing his lass about, kids, no contract ,, do you think his mind is 100% on our plight right now

and thats where pardew should step in

    catchy @30 -instability.
There is instability -most recent example is Cisse stating in the press he does not agree with the board (re getting rid of Ba in the summer). This is the latest example and needs to stop – press interviews/blogs/tweets which are contrary to club policy/statements – players should be fined -instantly 2 weeks wages.

    its not just me,,

i think if you ask any fan, they will tell you the players that arnt good enough, simpson is one of those players, if he was good enough, we would give him the money and not be looking for a RB

given his all is a minimum he should give, whether he is on 5g or A 100g a week

like i said, its his lack of ability and the fact he will not be here in the summer , he should not be playing

wilo is different,, not good enough and no options

as for a social life,, have a word with pardew,, he cancled xmas for them, not me
