Demba Ba got another two goals today in Newcastle’s 7-3 loss to Arsenal, after the scores were all square at 3-3 after 70 minutes, and the Magpies had been doing well, but once again Newcastle capitulated late in the game, and conceded three goals in the last six minutes of normal time.
Demba Ba – could be too expensive for some clubs
WE all know that the striker has a £7M release clause in his contract but the Sunday people is reporting that the 27 year-old striker may stay at Newcastle.
That’s because his representatives are asking for huge fees in any deal and the amount is said to be over £5M, which pushes the fee to over £12M, and then there’s the enormous wages they are asking for Demba – said to be £80K/week, and when you consider he still has a dodgy knee that may be a risk for any club.
The window opens next Tuesday so Newcastle fans will once again, have to wait and see if any club comes after the Senegal striker, who has been in sparkling goal-scoring form ever since he arrived on Tyneside last year.
Newcastle manager Alan Pardew said earlier this week that Newcastle will sell Ba in the summer if he does not agree to a new contract on Tyneside, and that’s though to be around £70K/week that the striker’s agents have turned down from Newcastle.
The People are quoting an inside source at the club as saying the following:
“There are people in the dressing room who believe Demba Ba has let Mike Ashley and Newcastle down after the way they helped resurrect his career. They’ve been kicked in the teeth.”
Newcastle are pursuing Marseilles striker Loic Remy, but the very fact he has told Newcastle he wants to review all offers made to him next month – might suggest he is not all that keen to join Newcastle.
If Ba is still at the Tyneside club come February – and we hope he is – the player will face increasing pressure from Newcastle to sign a new deal, or be shipped out in the summer.
It may well be that the best deal Demba Ba can get is the one that Newcastle have already offered him.
We hope so.

Comment #1211. Chelsea defender Luiz doing very well now and can play different roles apart from CD after a chance of managers. (rafa does it)
2. MA wanted a CD but AP thinks we can still cope without one during 2011 DEC, AP is might be thinking that STaylor is back andWilliamson is covering. CD is FINE.
2.1. AP have no intention of UPGRADING the CD DEPARTMANT YET at THAT MOMENT.
-Clearly stated and wrapped in NICE WORDS.
“It’s a world market but centre-half is a key position and you’ve got to be sure about what you’re getting in that position,” “It’s a position that gets highlighted in the Premier League – as Chelsea defender Luiz is finding out.”
“It’s not a case of having to go in and convince Mike Ashley.”
1. He didnt find the need to improve the CD department.
2. He didnt foresee that that players we have in the department are already running in TOP GEAR. (A little more extra, it will blow-up)
3. He didnt foresee our Back four is not good enough.
4. He didnt foresee that he is a New Manager & Every players is trying their Best to IMPRESS.
5. He didnt Foresee that what we need from last SEASON was A BETTER QUALITY DEFENDER & SHOULD BE OF 1st team.
6. To Score goals or not is another matter. But someone STRONG and CAN, MARKED AND DEFENCE STRONG.
NOW 2013
After waiting for AP “Quality Defender” to Come in, we have suffer.
FANS NOW would EXPECT the kind of quality that ALAN PADEW is TALIKING ABOUT. Arent WE?
TO: ALAN PADEW
Dear Sir,
We EXPECT a QUALITY DEFENDER that you have mention and discribe in your dreams. Please sign him up ASAP.
PS: Hopefully is no some kind of young talent that needed another 2-5 years to bloom.
HINT: CHRIS SAMBA is not too happy at his current club btw,
ASKING: 10-12 million (Blackburn sold him for 12million)
WAGES: 100K (his current at the club)
A deal that can never seal…so get someone in like him. Dont tell us how a defenders can score goals in a season. That is RUBBISH. It can only be a Bonus.
And that player will BE COSTLY, we will NOT afford it.
Jan Jan Vertonghen is one of them…and pls dnt tell me is a younger version of Vertonghen. That can only cheat a kid. Every player is different.

Comment #124its very simple due to the injuries we all feared that would happen they did.
Fat Ash never payed a dime and hence we are where we are simmo willo in the nufc shirt with colos massive drop in form has proven our undoing…
Here is how I see it there are ppl in the squad assured of a first team start and there is your problem.
We need depth we dont have it we need quality CB we dont have them havent had them for a long long time.
Answer is very simple Ash has yet to commit to this club…
I think personally we will never see the end of this until somebody takes this club by the scruff of the neck and commits.

Comment #126Mike is not committed to NUFC with a quarter billion investment and over 100 mil. owed to him? Come on. Yes, our steady hate has distanced him, but how would you react if it happened to you? Show him some love, fans, and he’ll invest the 21 million (3 ready game changers) that we need.

Comment #127Well how is everyone feeling today ?
New day, lets just wait and see what happens in the window before we decide who is in the wrong.
I genuinely believe Pardew will have massive problems motivating the players for next game.

Comment #128Cyprus. Are you still inebriated ???????? Show him some love before he will spend some cash on HIS club. He is a business man , I don’t think he will lose any sleep due to the fact we don’t happen to love him. If he doesn’t love us and we don’t love him why doesn’t he just pack his bags and head on down back to the smoke??

Comment #129Yous do know that QPR have been given permission to speak to Diame after meeting the £3.5million release clause..
I’d personally rather have Sissokho anyways all we need to spend is around £18/20million..
Debuchy – £5.5million
Sakho – Loan with perm deal arranged
Sissokho – £3.5million
Remy or another same type – £9million
Simpson – £1.5million

Comment #131Ok well that was a crap xmas of results…..
Overview….
1. We are not in the crap because of results against Man U and Arsenal, we are here because the same players couldnt perform against “weaker” sides ie West Ham, swansea, Southampton etc. If we can raise our game against the top sides then we need to ask why those same players couldnt be bothered or motivated to perform like that against the samll sides….
2. As we all know we are paying the price of MA not paying to strengthen the defence, cant believe that since promotion Santon is the only defender we have signed, and that was to replace Enrique… I think at least 9 of the 11 goals this week were the result of poor defending, the worst for me was Perch for Arsenal’s 3rd goal, going to ground for no reason when Wilshere was on the byline and giving him the only chance he had for chipping the ball across. Complete stupidity, just stand up and pressure him out of play!!!
3. Stop playing Cisse on the wing!!!!! He wont track back effectively as we saw for Arsenal’s 4th goal, his instinct isnt to track runners from deep, play him CF or not at all.
4. If Ba wont sign the new contract with the clause removed then get rid ASAP. Bigger players have left us in the past and we can cope. I dont blame him for looking for a bigger payday, I have a chronic knee problem and know that day by day it is wasting away so if I was him I would want to maximise my earnings while I still could..
5. I really hope that if there were any plans to use Marveaux as part of the Remy deal then they are destroyed. He has proven to be the most technically gifted and creative of everyone in the squad except HBA when fit. Marveaux needs to be a regular now, in the hole behind Ba for now, and then out wide when Cabye and HBA are back.
Team when fit:
Krul
Debuchy!-CB-Colo-Santon
Tiote-Anita
HBA-Cabaye-Marveaux
Ba/Cisse
Add to that in a perfect/dillusional world:
Sissoko
Remy
Then we have a team to compete with the best.
Just keep 442 away from now on!!

Comment #132I’ve said since I’ve been on this site that our defence is the priority! Colo is good! not fantastic & certainly the better of our back 4, Saylor is good on his day BUT injury prone so useless really!, Willo/Perch are just squad players but I do like Perch’s versatility, Simmo defensively is ok but offers very little in the forward play & lastly Santon is a good player but in my opinion needs to be moved to the right side, as when he’s going forward he looks great but defensively he’s week!
It’s about getting that balance right & we clearly don’t!
My opinion is we need 2cb regardless of age experience is essential to steady the ship “Lescott & Douglas” & we need a LB not RB!.
As for a forward I would much rather have 3 defenders in this window & play Cisse up top.

Comment #133Sorry I didn’t mention my potential most probably unrealistic list? Douglas “prospect”, Lescott “loan”, Micah Richards “loan”, Pieter’s “versatility” & Debuchy. Like I say unrealistic but I live in hope lol!.

Comment #135If Lescott comes that is more than enough. We have everything that we need.We all want Debuchy. But we have Simpson-Our mostly underrated player.I think Debuchy will be a good second choice from the bench.

Comment #136And we don’t need big players like Santon on LB position. We need small quick player on that position.Look Man U,lookArsenal, look Chelsea.
