There are lots of reports out today that Chelsea officials are meeting with Demba Ba and his representative in London tonight, with a possible move for the Senegal striker, and if the news is correct it could even be that Ba has played his last game for Newcastle.
Demba Ba - could be leaving Newcastle at a terrible time
But we really find it hard to believe that Demba Ba could simply walk away from the Tyneside club, who are in a terrible slump at the moment, after losing eight of our last ten Premier League games.
But it may indeed happen that Ba walks away from Newcastle, and if he does that then he’s shown absolutely no loyalty at all to the North East club, and it’s probably better that he leaves.
Chelsea manager Rafael Benitez says he’s knows anything about the reports, when he was asked after Chelsea’s 2-1 win over Everton earlier today, but he also added that he doesn’t talk about any pending transfers
Chelsea have agreed to sell Daniel Sturridge to Liverpool for around 12M, and it will take that to take Demba Ba, since his representative are said to be asking for up to £5M in fees for the Senegal Rotational, and that’s in addition to the £7M release clause.
Chelsea may want to get Demba Ba to London, but there are a couple of possible problems with the deal.
One is that Demba Ba may not pass a medical because of his bad knee, and he is also asking upwards of £85K/week in wages – but Chelsea may think that’s a good deal given the low transfer fee they will need to pay for the star striker.
We would be shocked if Ba walks away from Newcastle – but it could happen and there’s nothing Newcastle can do about it.
Comments welcome.

If Ba does leave I wish him the best and thank for him for what he’s done here. He has an excellent goal to game ratio and we should never have put the clause in his contract. But, if he feels the need to move on then there isn’t much we can do to stop him ( or his agents).
On Debuchy, I won’t believe any of the news surrounding him until I see him standing at St James Park holding an NUFC shirt. It seems like we’re going in the right direction though.

DEmba BA , bench warmer for money. no ambition but money if this is true. cause that’s where he will be at Chelsea.

Jail – to be fair I was hoping Simpson would understudy but he will inevitably go. Imo we need a backup as well in place, we need 2 signings minimum in defence but I would be hoping for 2 recognised and 2 hot prospects.

You said if Simpson and Williamson didn’t play against Man Utd and Arsenal then we would’ve won both. Have you forgotten that Williamson didn’t play yesterday?

Disagree Ed.
We signed him on a free & paid him low wages. He owes us nowt.

All those saying a premature goodbye to Simmo be careful what you wish for,we going to hope that Debuchy plays in every EL.FAC and and league game, what happens if he gets a knock or worse still takes time to settle are we going to expect Tav to step up which so far Pards hasn’t seen him as being better than Simmo .

There’ll be no Chelsea player just as there’ll be no replacement. Same old story come 31 January. “We think we have enough to take us to the summer” betcha!
14 drongo // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:37 PM
Gamble paid off taking him on free. Do e well for us for 2 half seasons.
If he wants out let him go, can have players dictating how he potently us done.
I would go wit the following
———krul
Debuchy saylor- collo – santon
————Anita–bigi
HBD———–Cabaye ——-mrveux
——————–cisse
Bigi nd Anita re the in form deep midfielders in my view. Jonas as back up left back, perch as back up DM, spammy, obertan back up AMs and no back up strikers.

If we get Debuchy i would try and swap Simpson with a championship player or sell him and buy a youngster like bigi, we won’t get mega bucks for him with 6 months left. It would be just our luck if Debuchy got injured though. Anita could cover at the back or at worst perch, tav or raylor when he’s back.
Big question for you all, would Debuchy and santon leave us too open at the back?
Centre back please next mr Ashley,
Striker if Ba leaves
Sissoko or Diame if tiote leaves.
Simpson and Williamson out, possibly ba if he wants out and a replacement is certain.
23 Black and White with an army lol // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:41 PM
so guys is Tiote leaving aswell and for how much???/
24 toonking // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:42 PM
ba might have did good when he was with us but a club such as ours just can’t afford to have player such as ba in.
the reason i say this is while we have ashley in charge it is always going to be hard to get a big squad so the last thing we want is a player who has a contract clause he won’t remove.
i will be glad to see him go and hope we get a forward.
As for debuchy looking likely to have arrived well until we start getting clean sheets the only positive i will take from his arrival is the fact it lessens the risk of loosing cabaye.
what use is an attacking FB if he can’t prevent goals.
we have seen what santon is like while jonas is out so the last thing we should be wanting is another santon on the right as the chances are HBA might need to be dropped for a more defensive Lw
25 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:42 PM
I meant if Willo and Simmo didn’t feature in any of the last two games, we would’ve picked up 6 points. Coloccini hasn’t been on his best form, but that’s because he is surrounded by poor defensive partners. Santon had his worst game for us yesterday, but he’s been the best player so far this season.
26 Spuggy // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:44 PM
We may well end up solving the Ba/Cisse problem and our defensive weaknesses all in one window.
27 89Norcal // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:44 PM
nick 9
Debuchy is better defending than Santon imo. Santon tracks back well enough but never seems to really pressure wingers.
With this new system Pardew has implemented; with our RB becoming arguably more involved in attack than Santon at LB, Debuchy will do far better that Simpson.
Simmo never seemed to acclimate to the rigors of being an attacking fullback. He was exhausted by 70 mins, hence the late defensive errors.
28 macdonaldtudor // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:45 PM
I hope we replace demba quickly as there is no
way he will turn down Chelsea and why should he we should have just paid him what he is totally worth in my opinion
29 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:46 PM
If we Ba leaves, we need to sign Benteke and Remy.
If Tiote leaves, we need to sign Sissoko and Diame.
If Simpson leaves, we need to sign Debuchy and Denswil.
We need to replace Williamson with Aldereweild and Sakho.

Can anybody give me a sensible answer to why a successful billionaire would want to invest £300M into a club providing an interest free loan of £100M – and set his ambitions for that investment as just doing enough to avoid relegation?
34 Black and White with an army lol // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:47 PM
next half season looking good at the moment hope Debuchy comes in he’s 3 times the player simpson and would proberly be a great mentor for tav.
i wouldn’t sell simpson i’d rather keep him as a backup and let him see out his contract.
35 wink16 // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:48 PM
I hope Newcastle follow up the Debuchy signing with a big solid central defender possibly Douglas. Disappointed that Demba Ba seems determined to follow the money, this being the case the quicker he goes and we replace him with someone who actually wants to play for the club the better. Is Remy the answer? only time will tell. One player I would love to see us sign is Moussa Sissoko; he would add the strength and creativity we need from midfield
36 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:49 PM
Pardew has stressed 1 out, 2 in, in addition to 1 or 2 signings.
Santon has learnt how to pull the trigger outside the 18 yard box this season. On numerous times last season, he got into great positions and was afraid to have a dig. I reckon he’ll get a couple of goals this season. His shooting is very good. Just need to improves on his left foot.
37 Toon1978 // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:49 PM
Whats this about Tiote now?
38 bills-son // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:49 PM
Ba humbug, Ashley has lost that much weight that Claire Balding would struggle to get into his shreddies.
39 Spuggy // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:51 PM
This is going to be a very transitional season – really hope we can get a quality FB and Cb over the line. if Ba goes a sticker to support Cisse.
That would be progress in my eyes. then in summer re-evaluate clear out some dead wood (gosling and Simmo etc.) and add the final pieces of the jigsaw.
40 toonking // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:51 PM
when it come to cover for RB well for now we could use perch if simmo goes then next season raylor although i would rather he started as our Lb unless we bring in another one

44 Mancgeordie // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:55 PM
I think demba has gone personally thanks for all goals but at the end of the day nobody’s bigger than the club and you can’t have players dictating where they play and the clause has been like a cloud over us since last january when droopy opened his fat trap aboutit
45 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:55 PM
It seems an upgrade is in place then we just need a new CB that can help Colo lead the defense since he has been strugleling lately.
What is the verdict on Ba; will he leave you think?
46 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:55 PM
We do need a left back as back up in the summer as Ferguson is not a defender. He was left exposed at the back for Arsenal’s last few goals.

Let’s hope Santon learns to time his swings for goal line clearances too. You’re so quick to blame your hate figures. How about Santon and Krul losing us the Citeh game and Krul losing us the Manure game ?
Some of us on here try to avoid the blame game whilst recognising that players make mistakes and have bad patches of form as well as not all being CL standard. Give it a rest
My hope for Santon is that he stays with us for his golden years as he is still developing.
49 Spuggy // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:56 PM
We have quite a lot of FB cover no need for Simmo – Raylor, perch, tav, Jonas, Anita and santon can play either side.
50 Black and White with an army lol // Dec 30, 2012 at 6:56 PM
Debuchy, Remy and Sakho would improve the team to top quality and if we get Douglas and Sissokho on free for next season we would be world class team and battle for champions league next season.

53 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 30, 2012 at 7:01 PM
Willo was at fault for Man City’s goal from the corner, he didn’t win the header. Santon couldn’t see the ball as Aguero was blocking him.
I don’t rate Xavi, I think he is extremely overrated. I think we should just stick with Sissoko, plus Xavi is 31 now.

I honestly believe he would never sign a contract without a clause in it, debuchy will be a good start but we need a big strong centre back mostly saylor is good but only ever seems to manage 15-30 games a season at most if a 1st choice partnership is to be made we need someone who could play more than that

63 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 30, 2012 at 7:06 PM
Yeah, he’s not as good as people think. I actually prefer Anita, he seems to have more energy and bombs forward more.
You can’t compare Scharner with Xavi. Scharner is primarily a centre back. You can compare Scharner with Willo or Saylor. If Paul played in our last 2 games, we would’ve got at least 2/4 points.
64 YankToonFan // Dec 30, 2012 at 7:07 PM
It is best not to have both Cisse and Ba on the club. They don’t play well together. This would put Cisse back at his natural No. 9 position and allow us to put another true midfielder on the pitch, which we desperately need.
Krul
Debuchy——-Colo——-Saylor——–Santon
———-Tiote————anita
HBA————Cabaye————Marveaux
——-_————Cisse
Of course, we still would need another strong defender. I wonder if Mbiwa is available. He would be a perfect fit as his versatility would be of great use.
And what of Tiote? He hasn’t been good this year, but I wonder if he is missing Cabaye. That said, if Pardew continues to play an attacking style – which I applaud – Tiote MUST be able to protect the back four. He is failing in this regard.
If we can get £15 million for Tiote, that money could be used to get a CB, Diame or Sissoko, and help fund a Remy or Aubemeyang.
So don’t fret Ba leaving. If could turn out for the best!

68 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 30, 2012 at 7:08 PM
No it was Mike’s. Mike’s been at fault for 60% of our goals this season with Simmo being at fault for 35%. The other 5% goes to Santon, Colo, Krul, Ben Arfa etc.
69 Charlietoon // Dec 30, 2012 at 7:10 PM
I’d be happy to see Tiote go at this point. He has been absolutely crap all season. He is giving the ball away constantly and seems to have all his natural talent coached out of him or he thinks he needs to do more that he does.

M’Biwa- £6m-£8m?
Sissoko- £2m-£3m
Remy- £10m- £12m
OUTS-
Ba- £5m
Simpson- £1m-£2m
That’s a net spend of £16m-£22m. It may sound alot for us and I don’t believe we will spend that much. But that would be a fantastic window while being slightly realistic with how much we spend. Since there is a massive increase the TV payments next year we can afford to go out and spend that extra bit of money.

Ben Watson is yet another underrated player. That Steven Davis is very poor though. Barcelona? They’re not good enough to play there, but Watson is premier league material.
Ashley Young and Michael Carrick are another example of players that are overrated.
Scott Parker is also very poor and not good enough for the premier league. To weak and slow and only does short passes backwards.

I have every belief the agents ARE the culprits here.
I don’t think a player would be clever enough as to include a 7m buyout to a CL club. His agents must have a good deal of experience, and anticipated he would return to form. I wonder if his knee is really as vulnerable as we’ve been led on.

109 stephen30 // Dec 30, 2012 at 7:35 PM
if ba’s clause is only for a champions league team then chelsea would have to pay what we ask and not the 7.5 mill so is this not why his agents prefer the arsenal move as the price is lower and they can ask for more

I have every belief the agents ARE the culprits here.
I don’t think a player would be clever enough as to include a 7m buyout to a CL club. His agents must have a good deal of experience, and anticipated he would return to form. I wonder if his knee is really as vulnerable as we’ve been led on.
Exactly Chelsea are NOT a champions league club, so would that not mean they have to pay our asking price for Ba??
114 Jail for Ashley // Dec 30, 2012 at 7:39 PM
I would still like to see that Pieters signed and top international CB I don’t know if I’m setting my self up for disappointment but three top class defenders plus Remy, with Ba maybe going the other way that would be a net spend around 15M ,surely that’s not an unreasonable amount for a club in the later stages of the EL.

118 AmeobiTheMackemSlayer // Dec 30, 2012 at 7:45 PM
Crawfordladd17 – Alderweireld 5million? Try doubling that at least.
I think the whole defense needs a reshuffle.
By the summer hopefully this will have happened.
IN:
M’biwa (8million)
Sakho (10million)
Remy (10million)
Sissoko (6-7million)
Debuchy (5.5million)
Sulejmani (5-6 million)
OUT:
Williamson (1million)
Colo (6million)
Simpson (2million)
Ba (5million)
Tiote (10million)
21-22 million net spend.
Unfortunately that’s what is in need of happening.
Colo is old now and losing it imo.
Williamson and Simpson have never been good enough.
Ba is greedy.
Tiote needs cashing in on, we have Bigi waiting anyway.
The players I’ve listed would fortify the defense and add creativity.
A balance of both is what we’ve been missing this season.

That would be interesting to see. I wonder if it would be at the discretion of Ba and his agents to decide whether to apply the buyout fee or a full fee?
In the end, the purpose of that clause is to allow him transfer to a top club, which Chelsea are. And it’s reasonable to believe they will be in CL again by the end of this season.

122 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 30, 2012 at 7:45 PM
Rough with the smooth at the toon eh!
Windows not even open yet and we’ve “signed” debuchy and “sold” ba!
IF we’ve signed debuchy its a great step but we still need a cb right at the start of the window ideally before the brighton game
IF we’ve sold ba we need to replace him straight away and pray the board stick to there 1 out 2 in policy, personally if he’s gone im gutted to lose a proven out and out goal scorer but cant blame him going to the european champions and a team that will always be challenging for the league title and domestic cups
Also have to echo belfasts comment, the lad owes us nothing, we signed him on a free and used his “knee” to pay him as little as possible, ironically he’s been one of our fittest players and his contract has backfired on the board big style!
Cant understand fans glad to see a prolific goalscorer leave tyneside like

Bills,
He bought the club as he knew the advantages that it would bring SD,I don’t think he had any intentions of investing so much but was unfortunately stitched up by Shepherd and Hall,as TV money and advertising is worth so much to him he will be here a long time,I really don’t think he wants another relegation battle (our third so far bills under him) but a comfortable position with minimum expenditure will suit him fine,I think it is so plainly obvious that it was not a balls up last summer but he saw a squad that he in his football wisdom would see us mid table,if he had any ambitions of CL or even another shot at EL he would have spent some money on the players we needed to try to achieve that.

If Ba wants to leave then we can’t stop him. If it comes to that then I wish him the best and hope he does well wherever he goes. The people wanting his knee to explode if he leaves have shown their bitterness towards the situation and need to have a look at themselves.

I feel embarrassed to be associated with those people, wishing that to happen because of him leaving is disgraceful. I wouldn’t blame him for leaving for those things.
I’m not convinced by Cisse at all. Some would argue that he hasn’t played down the middle enough but he has. Up until the end of November he played in a 4-4-2 with him and Ba which was shambolic.
The arguement is that he hasn’t played as a lone striker which he did last season and scored alot of goals. But Ba is the better player overall and will be missed if he does leave which is looking likely.

cabaye–tiote–marveux/anita

I doubt Ba would care where he plays in the Chelsea team for 80 odd grand a week, and besides if he does play on the left of Torres he’ll have already lined up a lucrative contract so doesn’t need to score as much,it sounds like it has been his gameplan all along and playing on the left fir us probably wouldn’t have resulted in Arsenal and Chelsea courting his services.

Carroll can’t play for 3 prem clubs in one season but I did see someone say the rules are different if on loan? Not sure though.
Tsunki, I hear what you say about Simpson and cannot disagree but it seems like such a turnaround from last season when he played his part in a solidish defence, is it all down to being unsettled during the summer by all the Debuchy transfer and nowadays he plays with less heart knowing it’s only a matter of time before he leaves?

Carroll may not be the greatest in terms on technical ability, but keegan said hes the best hes seen in the air, hed play with alot more passion in a toon shirt, and remember all those goals he set nolan up for knocking the ball down, imagin those balls coming down onto cisses left foot or an incoming run from benny down the middle…

Nahh Carroll cant play for us this season so its a non starter really..
Btw lads someones said this one Twitter what would yous do? Ano I’d probably do it…
Danny Simpson to Fulham plus £4million for Brede Hangeland… He’s 31 though but we’d get atleast 4 year from him
217 Tsunki // Dec 30, 2012 at 8:56 PM
Online – I caught it mate I laughed out loud at the batman thing and had one of those awkward moments trying to explain I wasnt on that damn blog again ha ha
Mactoon – Simpson is a turnaround though isnt he. I tr hard to side with our players especially those that get singled out for bad performances, last season Raylor was replaced by Willo and then Simmo was included, now Jonas, Colo and Tiote are in line.
I reason that other factors make a player poor, for example no use blaming Colo when he is running around trying to cover holes in a massively leaking defence.
Last year I stuck up for Simpson but kept saying he should perfect his defending before flying off upfield. As he has got older his defending has become a secondary objective, and his flaws really showed up lately, when tiredness exposed his game. He wont get any better I am afraid. Reasonable understudy, given a strict brief to stay back but no more.

He would be great with Cisse and could also play on his own ,in some ways a better option than remy

Whoever said about carrol promoting hoofball, i woudlnt want him back if it would make us revert to 442, but having cabs marvs and giving benny a free role in a 4312 or a diamond would put the ball on his head & be the only instance id want him back, alternatively as a backup to cisse in a 433. Having a big man up top doesnt mean hoofball, look at ibrahimovic, Just think hed be a good partner for cisse and could provide assits and a few goals if he sorted his noggin out. As for Ba, would love him to stay and to get a winger type aswell, but then what if he goes out of form? will he be happy on the bench? he wants to be number 1 stiker in a central position, which if we want to progress we cannot offer, we need options to rotate not 1 ego to rely on, add to that cisse coudl have scored another 5/10 by now if ba passed the ball once in a while.
244 GeordieToon89 // Dec 30, 2012 at 9:15 PM

Sky Sports understands Newcastle have spoken with Loic Remy’s representatives to ascertain his situation – but they face stiff competition for his signature should he leave Marseille in January.
Chelsea, Tottenham, West Ham and Bundesliga outfit Schalkeare all understood to have an interest in the highly-rated front-man.
Remy has always stated he would be keen on a move to England, but remains open-minded about his future plans.
Likewise, Sky Sports understands that Marseille are relaxed about Remy’s future, whether that means him leaving in January or not.
The French side would like to keep the 25-year-old, but are open to a deal if the right offer is made.
Newcastle have had a long-standing interest in Remy, given their excellent scouting network in France.
Their interest in Remy has been heightened by the Demba Ba situation – which could see him leave the club in January if his release clause is met.
Remy, who is under contract at Marseille until 2015, has stressed that he is content at the French club.
He told his club’s official website: “If I stay at Marseille, I will be the happiest man to be able to finish the season here.
“People talk about my departure, but we will see.”

JFA – Mike ashleys 5 year plan highly resembles my approach to FM. Buy good youngsters, using them as squad players while their value rises, sell them on, using the money to buy higher quality youngsters creating higher fees in future, and using money made through youngsters to fund the 11 ‘purple’ players… therefore having a self sufficient transfer budget…

Run it pretty much like a business but yeah, keeping the best youngsters, just making the mills of the ones that arnt top quality, or on the latest versions of fm loan fees make a mint! Also got a very low wage, something like 14th int he wage table. Think it would explain alot thats gone on over the last few years, the transfer policy, wage structur, focus on youth, complete incompetence in the real life aspect of running a football club, i for one think that is exactly what has happened, Mike Ashley is just a FM addict with alot of money who decided he wanted to play the game for real, then again, it does work on the game….

Conaldo, I would say you are missing out, been playing it for years and tend to drift in and out of playing it, but it is a very addictive game, but…if anything youd be missing out on playing it, missing out on alot of sleep, it has a nasty habit of keeping me up til the early hours…especially if theres a cup game coming up or theres a few games left of the season…

I remember on Championship manager 00/01 I for some reason started as Man Utd manager and I was with them for 16 seasons winning every single trophy I possibly could including managing England to World Cup and European cup glory before resigning after winning both in a row, In my 16th season with Man Utd I won the league, champ league and the Fa cup and then they sacked me a few days after the FA cup final, I was pretty confused and went on to manage Roma for 2 seasons in which I won the Italian League and cup once and then Newcastle needed a manager in which I applied and got the job and had another 12 very successfull seasons with them the first few were very much building my own team and trying to get all of my youngsters I trained and signed at Man Utd and Roma and then I started to win things before retiring to illness in the year 2031…(game froze)

bleedin ‘eck, its silly season on here tonight isn’t it! Must be close to a transfer window…..
Personally not too fussed with Ba leaving aslong as we sign a replacement! He seems detrimental to team morale, remember someone telling me last season him and cisse weren’t on great terms, didn’t believe them then but i do now! People need to remember that Ba is not senegalese, he is a Parisienne, i work in Paris alot and its not the easiest attitude to get on with! Him and cisse are from such different backgrounds its untrue, Cisse might have started playing football with no boots but Ba is an amazement that he did not join a gang or end up in prison for the area he is from!
If he leaves we can only wish him well, he cost us little, we paid him even less and hes played well and scored lots of goals, cant blame him for leaving and tripling his wages!

bout 4 days ago I posted that Kets saying Carrick wasnt a premier league standard player was the most ridiculous thing I’d ever read…..I take it back, “xavi is very overrated” is UNBELIEVABLE!!! The captain, lynchpin and player every pass goes through, at the best club side that football has ever seen is overrated?? the captain, lynchpin and central figure of arguably the greatest national team, or in the top 3 at least that world football has ever seen is overrated?? Kets, do you actually watch football?? Theres a reason players like cabaye regard this man as an idol! Theres a reason he’s won halon d’ors…voted for by fellow professionals! You need a word with yourself lad coz xavi has arguably helped reinvent the way the world plays football, I would argue he’s one of the most important players ever to play the game and is potentially the greatest European player of all time! seeing a trend though, clever, intelligent ball playing players like Carrick and xavi are overrated to Kets, coz hes obviously 8 years old and regards talent and skill by going past 2 players and running the ball outta play, much like Boudebouz (who you’re always touting and is awful, ive seen him live many a time)

Foster

Hangeland
Richards
Carrick
Johnson
Pedersen (mg)
Milner
Martins
Cole
On other events, I had a feeling it would be debuchy or a def as the early signing, Remy shaping up as latest soap opera/smokescreen.
Ba? I’m either way on him but despite being the main source of goals I think we may be better off without him. AC would love him back a better partner for cisse, could improve our attacking set plays. IF the rules allow it. Lescott/Hangeland either or both solid and experienced. Survival over resale potential I’m afraid. Could be entertaining or depressing – bring on the window.

Why is it so hard to believe that BA would not walk away from Toon. Lord knows he has his say about it in countless media – his love of Arsenal. His love of his French roots club and on and on. He has no loyalty to Newcastle, only to his pockets. Having supportive Toon fans means nowt when it comes to moolah. The best hope is that Chelsea swop us Lampard (dream on) or a deal hi jack for Sturridge is in the offing. Other than that best let him move on and an end to the tiresome gossip of his transfer clause.

Theres a few strange people on here. I’m going to keep this short and too the point. This isnt to everyone only the people who made the strange ars* comments.
1) just because we might get debuchy doesnt mean we can just get rid of simpson. If simpson goes we have 1RB again and we dont have cover… (dont tell me santon is a rb, he is a lb)
2) how is ba lacking ambition if he goes to chelsea? Just because they pay high wages doesnt mean the players have ambition.
Newcastle
- bottom 5
- playing in europa with bteam (no chance of winning)
- no trophy in 55 years
Chelsea
-top 4
- playing in europa with bteam(big chance of winnig)
- 2trophies last year
Also chelsea will most likely have CL football next season+ with support from, hazard and Mata, he will score alot more goals than here.
I’m not a fan of ba leaving but if he leaves to chelsea i can fully understand his thinking. 90% of our players have no connection to nufc, so they are here to evolve their football. If we dont move forward we will lose players, that simple. Lets just hope if he does leave we bring in a replacement *cough* remy

Beattie if we introduced three first teamers early in the window i would gain some respect for Pardew and I’m sure it would keep some pass holders on board with the intent shown.
As for ba going I hope he leaves for a better club as its less of a kick in the teeth. If we don’t have replacements lined up then we are mad. It’s needs to be a quick replacement but by no means a rushed signing. Surely when Carr is watching one player he notices others as well? It’s not like he goes to watch one player solely and ignores the rest.
Glad someone else agrees regarding Zaha, when I have seen him live he looked no better than Sammy and that’s saying something for a player quoted at £20 mill. He seems to carry an arrogant swag like ranger as well, give me Paul ince over him any day.
394 GeordieToon89 // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:39 PM
Sazzer – Isnt Rossi still injured?
Beattie – I’d probably take Guidetti a dont think we could control Balotelli although it would be good seeing him drive round the town giving out £20 notes ha
395 Sazzer // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:39 PM
Forgot Guidetti, Toivonen, Philips and …Falcao!
396 GeordieToon89 // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:41 PM
Pardew lives 2 doors down from Harper who lives opposite Shearer

Yeah, so would be a suprise if he passed a medical and signed. But not in regard of not being known.
398 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:43 PM
Any news about a replacement if Ba decides to sit on the bench at Chelsea?
…I guess bench players can have ambitions as well
399 Beattie25 // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:44 PM
Imagine Balotelli rocking up.
Tell you what the boys got talent. Being a big fish in a medium sized pond might be what he needs.
He is bessie mates with Santon as well.
He’d love Pardew as a manager I reckon as he’d get away with murder.
His contribution on the field might leave a bit to be desired but if he hit form we’d hit the jackpot.
Citeh might get Falcao?
It’ll probably be Carlton cole.
400 GeordieToon89 // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:44 PM
Sazzer – Fair point i shall let you off my friend haha
401 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:45 PM
Iago Aspas is most likely Swansea bound (Laudrup wants him)
402 Vask // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:45 PM

403 Blaydon-Toon // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:46 PM

405 jesperfuglsang - captain of the lemon crew // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:48 PM
Beatrice…I would be pumped if we introduced Debuchy and Mateo Musacchio on January 1th
406 GeordieToon89 // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:49 PM
Ryan Taylor a canny lad, he proper love us fans and the club aswell, was talking to him about his knee as he has similar to what a done to my knee only a fractured my fibia aswell, he says he’s been told he’s around 3 month away from returning to the team(this was about 3 weeks ago)
407 GeordieToon89 // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:51 PM
Matteo Mussachio is a CB I used to always get on Football Manager he had that ‘wonderkid’ tag and had to spend a fortune to get him from Villareal at the time but he was fecking unreal when you had him
408 darrylwe // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:52 PM
Does anyone know why Twitter is shutting down every time I search nufc or Newcastle using Chrome.
409 GeordieToon89 // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:54 PM
Mateo Mussachio is a player I used to always sign on FM he had that illustrious ‘Wonderkid’ tag when he was at Villareal but he was worth every penny he was class, he’ll only be about 22/23 now i’d imagine.. He used to have hair like Coloccini(but less of it) now he’s gone all short haired last time a seen him

Demba Ba’s agents succesfully held talks with Chelsea FC tonight who are expected to trigger his release-clause
411 Sazzer // Dec 30, 2012 at 11:59 PM
Belhanda is probably too expensive but should probably be named.
412 GeordieToon89 // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:01 AM
Anyways work in the morning, Night lads nice having a decent conversation with yous tonight without the dimwits butting in.. If I dont speak to yous beforehand hand then..
All the very very best of health and joy for the new year and lets all hope we can add to personal joy by Newcastle climbing up the league table again!
Take Care
413 Sazzer // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:01 AM
Wouldn’t mind Musacchio.
414 Sazzer // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:04 AM
I wish he was taller though. Like Pezzella he’s more of replacement for Colo than of Willo.
415 Mister Tuff // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:04 AM
sazzer @408.
Younes Belhanda is a top player -amazing skill did a post on him a couple of months ago. We’ll probably never get him though.
416 Sazzer // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:16 AM
Yeah, but you never know. We are popular among french based players.
417 OhSholaAmeobi // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:20 AM
Don’t believe anything until it’s done. Plus if Ba was sold would Cisse necessarily start scoring? Gonna be a long window.
418 Sazzer // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:25 AM
OhSholaAmeobi
We know the drill.
419 MacToon // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:29 AM
Mister Tuff, I seen your post last night and your updated thoughts today about the talk of Ba upsetting the dressing room etc!
I was going to post about it after the news about Ba going to Chelsea came out but you saved me the trouble as I’d come to the same conclusions as yourself, cheers for saving my time.
420 Jonny // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:33 AM
Debuchy!!!!!!
421 Magpies-till-d3ath // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:34 AM
Rossi has been injured since April, out for 10 months!
422 Magpies-till-d3ath // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:40 AM

423 BelfastMagpie // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:43 AM
For a momemt there I thought Mactoon was going off on a rant.
424 BelfastMagpie // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:46 AM
I wonder who this ba replacement is ?
Signing a replacement ? Surely not.
425 Magpies-till-d3ath // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:48 AM
Picture this. Just before the Everton game Ashley and Llambias shock everyone and unveil 5 Frenchmen to St James’ Remy, Debuchy, Sakho, Sissoko, Gouffran. I’d literally polish Ashley fat hole after every sh*t he takes!
426 Marty-Toon // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:53 AM
Anyone hear or see Vydra play for watford?
Seen the highlights against Brighton and he’s really quick and a good finish
427 BelfastMagpie // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:56 AM
Yes Marty I’ve seen him play for Watford a few times. Think he’s there on loan though.
428 Sav // Dec 31, 2012 at 12:58 AM
This divorce has been a long time coming. So much so, I’m almost glad (if its true) to have it over with. At least its at the beginning of the window, not the end, so Mashley and Llardarse have time to get it sorted. That is the most important thing, unlike Carroll’s departure.
I agree with Belfast Magpie, Ba owes us nowt. He’s been great. We may even make a small profit (apart from those essential goals).
Delighted to learn Debuchy is incoming. Someone who can cross at last. Not sure about Douglas – he looks like a Brazilian version of Williamson and I fear his main asset is his price. Will Mashley never learn?????
429 Mister Tuff // Dec 31, 2012 at 1:19 AM
Mactoon @419 -glad someone else was thinking along the same lines. I really do not see the need for this briefing against people from unamed sources -especially from who I think was behind it -and doing it in the name of the Toon. Pure badness.
If it wasn’t for Ba we would be further in the claggy – he has played well. (I hope they are confident about Cisse returning to form back at CF). I think the board have realised their summer failings -but a good start to the window. Santon and Debuchy (more or less identical players) raiding forward will be excellent.
430 Mister Tuff // Dec 31, 2012 at 1:28 AM
mactoon forgot to add that all these behind the scenes shenanigans -all “fit” – Ba tweeting last week I think it was that he had been lied to. Whilst Ba might want the extra cash he did not appear to be a liar.
Fast backtrack to the allegations from Nolan and Barton also Chris Houghton – we certainly now have a nasty and dishonest element in house. The name of the Toon -will be besmurched again.
431 NUFC141 // Dec 31, 2012 at 2:05 AM
tiote has been too “hot-headed”.. he should calm down, find the inner peace n play smart. if u can win balls, control the mid n avoid so many cards, he’s a champ!
