For the second game in a row Frenchman Sylvain Marveaux was our Man of the Match yesterday, when he put in another good performance and managed to score his second goal of the season too.

And there’s really three bits of good news in our poll since the next three are Ba on 14%, Bigirimana on 7% and Gabby Obertan on 7% so three of the top four players yesterday would not normally be starters – if we didn’t have our massive injury problems.
And Gabby Obertan and Sylvain Marveaux have solved our lack of goals with their creativity and in the last two games we’ve looked a good side moving forward – if not in defending, and six goals at Manchester United and at Arsenal is good going.
We need new defensive cover in January more than anything else, given that Obertan and Marveaux seem to be taking their chances and showing us they are good players when given a run in the side, and they can compensate for the absence of ben Arfa who will not be ready to return in mid-January as Cabaye and Steven Taylor are.
