Pardew’s BBC Interview On Demba Ba Situation Today – Video

alan pardew

Alan Pardew – Newcastle manager

Here is the BBC Interview where Alan Pardew slams the agents of Demba Ba, and says that he feels a little sorry for the player, and that Ba is one of the strongest players mentally he has met.

It seems Newcastle are in a mess with this whole situation, and it’s now starting to affect other players at the club – and that’s not good.

One way or another I just hope this is sorted quickly. Either get him to commit or get him out the door so we can move on and focus on our defense, and apart from Debuchy who are our realistic targets defensively???
Toby Alderweireld and Stéphane Mbia would two players I’d love to see come to us but doubt that’ll happen, so who else is there???

tads – I think Alderwield is out of contract in the summer, so he could be a possible target for us as his fee would be down, but then his wages would a lot higher than normal!!!
I just hope that we DO get someone in and that the higher ups run out the ‘Well we really tried to get out targets over the line’ rubbish again

“We are going to grow superstars” not buy them!! Lamearse Said. Can’t see us spending the amount of money + wages for Lescott.
Couldn’t argue that he would be a good signing though, just can’t see it happening.

It seems Pards is a bit sick of it now. Is it just me or was he indicating that the contract offer is on the table, but won’t be for much longer? The “no more” bit I thought that’s what he was referring to. I just wish we could move on. 2 good defenders and a Ba replacement and we could crack on. All the talk has to be unsettling for the players.

I just can’t believe that the manager is putting up with it. At Man U Ba’s feet wouldn’t have touched the floor. There is value to some people’s assessment that he should be dropped until he commits to the club. But at the same time NUFC signed the contract too.

I just wish it was over and done with 🙁

Got to go for now. Be nice. And stay away from Twitter there’s more nuggets per square inch there than here by a long way. 😀

If we finish this window without getting a CB it would be a disaster we could sign ibrahimovic and marchissio and it wouldnt matter if we had no defence!
Realistically we need a new first teamer because taylor is unreliable and willo is hated!
Also need a young cb as a understudy for colo to come straight in when he’s left/retired

Sirtoon you say Man U would never stand for it. Funny I thought Rooney did exactly that and got a huge pay rise to keep him after he slagged the club off.

Given is well and truly finished best shot stopper I’ve seen in his day but reactions have gone lately. I believe colo is on 60k and so if we could get lescott in for the same which i think is possible then would love to get him in. Quality cb with good scoring record from set pieces.

starting to think maybe Debuchy will make Everton game, Pardew’s comments,
“On Wednesday we will be stronger…I think Cabaye will come back…and a new signing or two and suddenly it doesn’t look as desperate.”

Maybe they are saying Simpson has a toe injury (he would normally play with) to save his reputation

You mention Rooney, and the manager dropped him and told the club to sell him. He was almost away before he apologised and signed his contract. But he apologised to everyone at the club, directors, staff, fans etc. He was told he was on his way, and there was movement from both parties. But Ferguson drops ANY player when they pi55 him off. Would our gaffer do the same?

Haha oh I must be mistaken then 🙂 buying old dejected former Manc players is their style hopefully not ours. I like Lescott but he is left sided and that’s Colo’s spot can’t see our club captain being dropped him. None starter imo

Sirtoongospel they did give him the contract though because they felt he was worth it. I’m sure if Ba signed a deal here he would come out grovelling that he only wanted to leave it if was his boyhood club or something.

Lescott would cost around 8 million and then there’s his wages which we would never pay so it’s never going to happen, so Toby Alderweireld and Stéphane Mbia would be more realistic, though not much more realistic I know.
    As for Tiote???
What the hell has happened to one of the best/most important player we have?

Sirtoon, he said he was going because Man U did not match his ambitions, apparently his ambition was a 2oo+K contract. The club was always going to put the PR machine into action when it was all sorted but the fact remains they caved in.

Nick, our problem is that Ba is not our best player. If he gets 70k, HBA (who is our best IMO) will say he is worth more. Cabaye will then say he is the French first choice, HBA isn’t, so he wants more. Colo says he is Captain and should be on more again. It would escalate badly.

I have a feeling that Colo will stay top earner at our club on 60k. As soon as that is breached we are screwed. Ashley won’t offer more than that, after he fought to get shot of all the big earners on fat contracts.

Tequila, Rooney wanted assurances that they would compete for top players as ey had gone backwards. In fairness they have bought some good ones since then. But Rooney could get that wage anywhere as he is absolutely class.
