Pardew’s BBC Interview On Demba Ba Situation Today – Video

4:50 pm, Monday, December 31st, 2012 by Dr. Ed Harrison · 323 Comments

alan pardew

Alan Pardew - Newcastle manager

Here is the BBC Interview where Alan Pardew slams the agents of Demba Ba, and says that he feels a little sorry for the player, and that Ba is one of the strongest players mentally he has met.

It seems Newcastle are in a mess with this whole situation, and it’s now starting to affect other players at the club – and that’s not good.

Only normally read this blog but thought I wud join up and comment after a phone call I received today.
A mate of myn called today as he was in Newcastle airport, word is that lescott landed in Newcastle today.

  • 3 JackButler // Dec 31, 2012 at 4:54 PM

One way or another I just hope this is sorted quickly. Either get him to commit or get him out the door so we can move on and focus on our defense, and apart from Debuchy who are our realistic targets defensively???
Toby Alderweireld and Stéphane Mbia would two players I’d love to see come to us but doubt that’ll happen, so who else is there???

  • 4 carloz // Dec 31, 2012 at 4:55 PM

Don’t normally comment, but after call from a pal flying out of Newcastle thought I wud.
The word in the airport is that lescott has been ther today, fingers crossed

  • 5 Tsunki // Dec 31, 2012 at 4:56 PM

Lescott stopping off at Greggs for a couple of steak bakes for the new family first?

    I would have him though,

  • 6 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 4:58 PM

    JB
Alderwield would be my ideal cb for us and perhaps a couple of youngster like that argie lad cant, german pezzela??
Heavily linked with sakho apparantly who’d be a goid signing can play LB too
Just hope its not douglas the brazilian bramble!

  • 7 Tsunki // Dec 31, 2012 at 4:58 PM

Calling all Newcastle airport employees – Page Mr Lescott.

  • 8 darrenfletcher88 // Dec 31, 2012 at 4:59 PM

    @proudtobeageordie.any news today pal??

  • 9 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:01 PM

Thought old lescott would be going back to the toffees like
Anyone heard that given has been transfer listed? Poor old shay great keeper i’d bring him back just to teach wor timmy how to kick straight!!

  • 10 Tsunki // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:01 PM

ptbg bit slow off the mark there like…..

  • 11 JackButler // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:02 PM

tads – I think Alderwield is out of contract in the summer, so he could be a possible target for us as his fee would be down, but then his wages would a lot higher than normal!!!
I just hope that we DO get someone in and that the higher ups run out the ‘Well we really tried to get out targets over the line’ rubbish again

  • 12 Tsunki // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:03 PM

tads I think Harps would hang up his boots and go home if Say walked through the door poor lad. What did Citeh do to such a class goalie?

  • 13 Billythefish // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:03 PM

“We are going to grow superstars” not buy them!! Lamearse Said. Can’t see us spending the amount of money + wages for Lescott.
Couldn’t argue that he would be a good signing though, just can’t see it happening.

  • 14 sirtoongospel // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:04 PM

It seems Pards is a bit sick of it now. Is it just me or was he indicating that the contract offer is on the table, but won’t be for much longer? The “no more” bit I thought that’s what he was referring to. I just wish we could move on. 2 good defenders and a Ba replacement and we could crack on. All the talk has to be unsettling for the players.

I just can’t believe that the manager is putting up with it. At Man U Ba’s feet wouldn’t have touched the floor. There is value to some people’s assessment that he should be dropped until he commits to the club. But at the same time NUFC signed the contract too.

I just wish it was over and done with :(

  • 15 NEWEXPATMAGPIE // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:05 PM

All will be revealed! Tomorrow! Hope this Ba thing is solved soon either way!

  • 16 Tsunki // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:06 PM

Its the tip of the iceberg lads. Transfer season yet to start and already the tidal wave of itk’s and daft rumours is in full venomous head-spinning flow. Hang on to yer hoggers, its going to be quite a ride!

Got to go for now. Be nice. And stay away from Twitter there’s more nuggets per square inch there than here by a long way. :D

  • 17 davetoon // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:07 PM

only if we got Lescott on loan and they paid half his wages

  • 18 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:07 PM

    JB
If we finish this window without getting a CB it would be a disaster we could sign ibrahimovic and marchissio and it wouldnt matter if we had no defence!
Realistically we need a new first teamer because taylor is unreliable and willo is hated!
Also need a young cb as a understudy for colo to come straight in when he’s left/retired

  • 19 tequilamag // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:08 PM

Sirtoon you say Man U would never stand for it. Funny I thought Rooney did exactly that and got a huge pay rise to keep him after he slagged the club off.

  • 20 WWYCD // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:09 PM

Sunderland openly coveted Lecott didn’t they? More likely destination for him unfortunately though buying from Manc land hasent don’t them all that well so far

  • 21 nick_9 // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:09 PM

Sirtoongospel you mean like Rodney’s didn’t when they caved in and gave him 250k a week? Fans were outside his house attacking his gates because they thought he wanted out

  • 22 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:10 PM

    Tsunki
Lol poor harps hope he plays against brighton he’s a top lad is wor stevie met him loads and he’s never had a bad word to say about the club

  • 23 Nufc-83 // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:11 PM

Given is well and truly finished best shot stopper I’ve seen in his day but reactions have gone lately. I believe colo is on 60k and so if we could get lescott in for the same which i think is possible then would love to get him in. Quality cb with good scoring record from set pieces.

  • 24 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:12 PM

    Yo
What are you on about good sir? They have a fine squad full of players the manchester clubs were gutted to see leave!!!
    John O’Shea what a player…….

  • 25 JackButler // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:12 PM

Lescott would be a perfect signing for us but there’s more chance of me center half for us, and trust me i make Bramble look like Messi

  • 26 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:14 PM

    83
Lol i really wasn’t suggesting bringing him back just sad to see how bad it went for him after leaving great keeper he was one if the best to pull on a toon shirt

  • 27 davetoon // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:14 PM

starting to think maybe Debuchy will make Everton game, Pardew’s comments,
“On Wednesday we will be stronger…I think Cabaye will come back…and a new signing or two and suddenly it doesn’t look as desperate.”

Maybe they are saying Simpson has a toe injury (he would normally play with) to save his reputation

  • 28 sirtoongospel // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:15 PM

You mention Rooney, and the manager dropped him and told the club to sell him. He was almost away before he apologised and signed his contract. But he apologised to everyone at the club, directors, staff, fans etc. He was told he was on his way, and there was movement from both parties. But Ferguson drops ANY player when they pi55 him off. Would our gaffer do the same?

  • 29 WWYCD // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:16 PM

    Toonarmydownsouth
Haha oh I must be mistaken then :) buying old dejected former Manc players is their style hopefully not ours. I like Lescott but he is left sided and that’s Colo’s spot can’t see our club captain being dropped him. None starter imo

  • 30 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:18 PM

    JB
The only issue with lescott fir me is that he is soooooo slow! With 2 attacking fb’s we need an on form CDM (c’mon tiote pls sort it out) and a quick CB which alderwield is

  • 31 Jay K // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:18 PM

Lads am thinking ov going for a few pints before the Everton game where’s the best place to go don’t normally have one before the game cheers

  • 32 nick_9 // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:19 PM

Sirtoongospel they did give him the contract though because they felt he was worth it. I’m sure if Ba signed a deal here he would come out grovelling that he only wanted to leave it if was his boyhood club or something.

  • 33 sirtoongospel // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:20 PM

Jay K. Shark club is worth going into just to see the lasses that work behind the bar. Especially the Asian lass. She is a belter!!! Lol

  • 34 Jay K // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:22 PM

    Sirtoon

Think I may find myself in there before hand then

  • 35 JackButler // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:23 PM

    tads

Lescott would cost around 8 million and then there’s his wages which we would never pay so it’s never going to happen, so Toby Alderweireld and Stéphane Mbia would be more realistic, though not much more realistic I know.
    As for Tiote???
What the hell has happened to one of the best/most important player we have?

  • 36 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:23 PM

Have to say good words from pardew he doesn’t slate demba and leave’s him an open option but at the same time lets him no its not on the table forever

  • 37 tequilamag // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:23 PM

Sirtoon, he said he was going because Man U did not match his ambitions, apparently his ambition was a 2oo+K contract. The club was always going to put the PR machine into action when it was all sorted but the fact remains they caved in.

  • 38 sirtoongospel // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:25 PM

Nick, our problem is that Ba is not our best player. If he gets 70k, HBA (who is our best IMO) will say he is worth more. Cabaye will then say he is the French first choice, HBA isn’t, so he wants more. Colo says he is Captain and should be on more again. It would escalate badly.

I have a feeling that Colo will stay top earner at our club on 60k. As soon as that is breached we are screwed. Ashley won’t offer more than that, after he fought to get shot of all the big earners on fat contracts.

  • 39 Nufc-83 // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:28 PM

    Sirtoon agreed.

  • 40 sirtoongospel // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:28 PM

Tequila, Rooney wanted assurances that they would compete for top players as ey had gone backwards. In fairness they have bought some good ones since then. But Rooney could get that wage anywhere as he is absolutely class.

  • 41 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:29 PM

    JB
God knows his confidence is shot actually cant wait til he goes to the ACON hopefully he will rediscover his form there
There was an intresting article on debuchy earlier some posted saying basically lille fcuked up not selling him in the summer whilst his stock was at its peak maybe the same could be said about mr.t mind you on the same hand he’s a player who is sheer quality and maybe just doesn’t fit into our current mish mash style! Hopefully a couple of signings will boost the overall confidence of the squad and things will be on the up!

  • 42 ba humbug // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:29 PM

I’d prefer Alderwerield too, but dunno what package he’d want financially. Probably the same as Vertonghen I guess. Bigger than our piggy bank.

    TADS

I thought AP looked stressed but very even handed and clearly peace making. He is nowhere near as stupid as so many on here think

  • 43 Jail for Ashley // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:30 PM

The be all and end all is that while we are not paying top wages we will be in danger of losing players to those clubs that do.

If there is a dispute with the board and a player -under the present regime -there will only be one winner -and it won’t be the player.

Jail, that’s true. And while he has tried to run his business as best as he can, I just wanna see the best team on the pitch that we can possibly have. Just wanna see us win something before I pop me clogs.

  • 50 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:33 PM

    Ba humbug
Considering the sh1t he goes through every window i think he always comes across pretty level headed like!

    Sir toon
I think its only a matter of time until the players you listed start asking for bigger wages anyway tbh

  • 51 tequilamag // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:34 PM

Sirtoon for what it is worth I agree that the club should stick to their guns on what they are prepared to pay. My only problem I have with your argument is that I don`t really think BA is being that out of order. The club were happy with the clause as they would not have had to pay Ba if his knee went in return he got the 7 mill release clause. If Ba was not producing on the pitch I would have more sympathy with the get rid argument but as far as I can see he has not let it affect his performance. Maybe Chelsea turning him down will make him reconsider his options and decide to take our offer. If he stays great, if he does go then best of luck to him.

  • 52 pedro // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:34 PM

Spot on. The days of us paying silly wages are over. Many people have argued that Demba deserves over 100 grand a week as he is a top CF, that maybe true but he cant get that here. If we buckled and gave him that type of wage we would need to increase several other important first team contracts. Until some time that this changes we will be in danger from the clubs with more money offering higher wages and turning players (or agents) heads

  • 53 Ketsbaia9 // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:34 PM

I think Alderweireld would be the perfect signing. We need to get it done asap. He’d want around £30-40k per week.

  • 54 sirtoongospel // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:34 PM

Dwayne Dibbly!!!!! Lol. Best laugh I have had all day!!

  • 55 89Norcal // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:36 PM

Lescott is at Newcastle airport? Is Deco with him as well? :)

Ba’s agents are absolute scumbags, I sincerely hope Abramovich’s goons robbed them at gunpoint and booted them out of the Chelsea offices. They are obviously a couple of hotshots that are trying to gain their reputation overnight with these outrageous deals.

    Fire them, Ba.

  • 56 JackButler // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:37 PM

    tads

I don’t know what is wrong with Tiote, but he’s a shadow of the player that first joined us and I can’t say he’s going to be a big miss when he goes off to the ACoN, but Biggie has really impressed me of late, the composure of someone so young is impressive and bodes well for the future :D

    ba humbug

Though I hate to say it but bigger clubs with higher wage brackets than us will be in for Alderwerield so would be amazed if that were to happen

  • 57 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:37 PM

    JFA
Exactly all the time we pay mid wages we will merely be a stop gap for players, nothing nessiceraly wrong with running a club like that dortmund done it for years before building themselves into a force but until then we have to get used to top players going we also need to sort the state of the youth set up out sharp if we want to run the club like that and expect a few youth signings this window that should nit be counted as “signings” if you know what i mean

  • 58 BelfastMagpie // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:38 PM

Airport sightings & the window hasn’t even opened yet Haha.

    Good for em both!

  • 60 JackButler // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:39 PM

Kets – seeing as Alderwerield will be available on a free in the summer he will command a lot more than 30-40k a week, plus I would imagine the likes of Man U, Arsenal and the Bin Dippers would be interested to name a few

  • 61 sirtoongospel // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:40 PM

Tequila, I agree with what you say, and its not my argument, it’s Ashley’s blueprint. I want to see the very best players here. But under this regime it won’t happen. So while the regime is in place, I want a harmonious squad with no e captions to the rule. That way we can try and have a decent team until some charitable multi billionaire decides to make us the best in the world!!!

  • 62 MacToon // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:43 PM

Fair comment from Pardew. Subject is certainly a diversion from the Arsenal game anyway ;-)

About “African players” from last thread, as far as I’m aware Cisse sends half his wage home and helps pay for alot around his community such as sports facilities, hospitals and schools.

We were 130M in debt after the Halls/Shepherd left after nearly twenty years if they reputedly took out 44M for themselves that leaves 86M loss, this after buying marquee signings year after year and paying several players up to 100K a week on top of building one of the finest stadium in Europe,a loss of 4.3 M a year, yet somebody claimed that Mashley had managed to lose 30 odd M a year for his first three years despite getting rid of all the top earners can anybody explain this to me and how after 40M in transfer profit we are still 130M in debt to him.

Bit hard to mistake Lescott for somebody up for New Year with the family….

Must be a load of shyte then.

  • 71 MacToon // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:51 PM

J4A, I believe the club did lose those amounts of money for various reasons, less income, relegation, high wage percentage to income ( which was crippling the club and needed addressing) etc. but last accounts showed the club almost breaking even even before adding the transfer profits he’s made.

  • 72 sirtoongospel // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:51 PM

Jail, is it not £30m we owe him as he paid off the overdraft? He lost money since but has taken it on the chin. The £130m was the original purchase of the club. He gets whatever he gets when he sells up. Bit like buying a house. But the £30m overdraft is owed for sure.

  • 73 ba humbug // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:55 PM

    Dannyo

St Mirren proving a good experience for the youngsters, they’re doing better than usual. Some odd wins as well; as the usual losses – ready for a career with the Toon then :)

  • 74 nick_9 // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:55 PM

Sir toon I agree, if we give Ba ridiculous money others will ask questions but for me he deserves to be a top earner and 40k isn’t that. Who here believes he deserves more than 40k? By the going rate I do. If our max is 70 he should be bang on the money but we need to cover our backs with his knee somehow.

As for Ben Arfa and co how long do you guys honestly think we can keep him happy for? He loves the club because us fans encourage him to take chances, how long will that go before someone offers to double his wages or he gets tired of fighting in a team for nothing? He seems like the kind of players who wants to go down in history, at the minute he will for us but not on a global scale I imagine he wants. He wanted to play for France which he did, then he got dropped after they switched manager. I can’t see him playing for them again unless he went to a massive club and its sad to say that because it shouldn’t be the case.

  • 75 JackButler // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:56 PM

    JFA

The stadium redevelopment and training ground was financed on future season ticket sales and loans so not only did we have more loans topay off we also had less revenue coming in as season ticket sales were already owed out, while players were brought in where the club paid off a percentage of the fee every year rather than one off payments.
As i understand it nearly all debts were paid off by Ashley simply to get rid of the astronomical interest payments. So we have basically had a 130 million pound interest free loan from Ashley himself

  • 76 BelfastMagpie // Dec 31, 2012 at 5:59 PM

  • 79 jayphoto // Dec 31, 2012 at 6:02 PM

As someone thats seen alderweireld live a fair few times i think some overrate him vastly on here! Douglas is the best centre half in holland on talent now, psv and a couple other clubs have some young lads who may become world beaters but pound for pound at the moment douglas is top, he’s got juventus watching most of his games tho, might be we don’t get the choice in signing him!
Talk surrounding alderweireld is that he’s after a London move in the summer, spurs most mentioned but iv got a feeling chelsea

RVP on what? 200k per week BA on 20k + 20 appearance? he has a point (not that he is in the 200k bracket), also pardew is a yes man who will toe the company line, the fat man would prefer to bank 7.5m than shell out a new contract, dont believe the contract on the table crap at all

  • 84 toonarmydownsouth // Dec 31, 2012 at 6:08 PM

Now what do we think would happen to Pardew if he threw a hissy and said he’s totally peed off with Batman and Robin’s transfer dealings ?

We don’t know what is said behind the scenes, but lets just say we see a 2 minute interview on BBC Sport saying how we’d failed to strengthen in the summer and would go down if we didn’t get three or four players in now.

on the Toons finances check out: http://www.nufc-finances.org.uk
It details all the finaces when the Halls and shepherds were in charge and Ashley’s takeover.

  • 93 bills-son // Dec 31, 2012 at 6:26 PM

I get stick for saying Ashley is the best owner of NUFC in my 50 odd years as a supporter. Considering his competition is the warring Westwood’s and McKeags, the rip off Hall’s and the spendthrift Freddy Shepherd he hasn’t got much competition.

Not one of those aforementioned put their hand in their own pocket, they used fans money to line it. The cumulative effect of rank bad on and off field management and zero financial planning led to the horrendous debt that Ashley had to pay off to stabilise the club. We know he didn’t do his DD and fkd up big style with Wise and Keegan but imo since he decided to keep the club after relegation he has hardly put a foot wrong – SJP naming as SD Arena excluded.

He has put more genuine committment ie., cash, into this club than all of the other previous owners put together. He has put more planning and organisation into the club than all of the other owners put together. I’ll only withdraw my support for Ashley if he doesn’t strengthen the team this Jan and/or sells off 2/3 top players on long contracts for anything less than stupid AC type fees.

My gut feeling still tells me Ashley is hugely ambitious – but he wont try and achieve those ambitions by competing on a financial level with Citeh, Chelsea or ManU. Two of those teams are owned by billionaires who have a billion or three in cash – which Ashley doesn’t – and ManU have an income that dwarfs ours. That’s the reality that us fans and Ashley have to accept.

  • 94 Jail for Ashley // Dec 31, 2012 at 6:26 PM

I’ve got a bit of understanding as to how we ran up the debt, but the point im trying to make is that after all that crazy spending we only managed to average a loss of 4.3M a year, how without all those huge wage bills can’t we afford 15-20M a year in transfers.

For me the biggest way he could show some ambition is to sack off that weasly little tosspot lamears3

  • 101 Transfer Sage // Dec 31, 2012 at 6:34 PM

Ashley is neither good nor bad for the club. He is safe.

He balanced the books, improved the training facilities and has had a reasonably good return in the transfers.

He is the best we have had for a long time though.

He doesn’t spend his personal money as he hasn’t got enough of it flin free cash to waste on something he won’t see a financial return on (well the risk outweighs the reward for him)

I don’t mind cutting back on spending but we still need to spend better, more than we did in the summer.

We needed defenders so if we only had 6/7mil to spend we should have for a dirt cheap midfielder and used the Anita money for a CB it fullback.

If deals were too pricey we should have been shopping in the cheaper areas…not always possible but there were some great signings around Europe on free transfers or relatively cheap.

Either way Ashley isn’t evil and trying to ruin us. He may use us to advertise his company so maybe we should expect a little more off him in return but you don’t get that rich by being fair all the time.

  • 102 ba humbug // Dec 31, 2012 at 6:35 PM

    Bills-son

I don’t think Mashley is hugely ambitious.
He might be moderately ambitious but that’s all.
I agree he’s been one of the best of a bad bunch but the bar was pretty low with Shepherds and Hall, let alone our very own ‘Carter’.
I think he’ll bring stability which is a huge plus but without any burning ambition.

  • 103 tequilamag // Dec 31, 2012 at 6:36 PM

sorry Bills my eyes are going and I have not had a drink yet.
That does not bode well for tonight.

  • 104 Transfer Sage // Dec 31, 2012 at 6:37 PM

My only criticism of Ashley is not that he doesn’t spend enough really, just that he doesn’t spent at the right time. (From a football point of view, leaving us without enough players, financially he gets the best deals)

Hopefully after a couple years we will be in a situation where is we miss out on a player in the summer and wait til jan or won’t have as big an impact on our season as it did this year.

  • 105 nick_9 // Dec 31, 2012 at 6:37 PM

Did we not incur 70 million pound stadium renovation debt on the sale of the club? I thought we did. Ashley aside from two or three decisions that angered fans had done ok since relegation. We are all fully aware he doesn’t want to dip into his own pocket anymore so unless we sell players or make a profit then transfers won’t come as quick as we like. If we had 15 million every window most fans would be more than happy but others would then want 15+. If we signed six good players over the next year it could see us right for a few years after that and he wouldn’t need to invest as much.

Billson, I think you have been mildly hoodwinked by Ashley for quite a while, but mainly since we got Cisse, and therefore spent money. He uses NUFC for Sports Direct, and that really is the long and the short of it. If he was genuinely ambitious we would have pushed on, transfer wise, in the summer. As I have said many times, he failed that acid test of ambition. Happy New Year to all of you from Limerick.

Ok just quickly, cause i dont want to bring the happy mood down.

I saw aload of people saying simmo being injured is good news. Can you please tell me who you are and why. So that if its not a good reason i never talk to you again. Yes everyone is free to his/her own opnion but how on earth is another injury good news?
What if debuchy deal breaks down or he breaks his leg? We will be left with fergie LB and he is too weak. Even if debuchy does sign having a fit simmo as back-up is alot better than no one. I dont know if u guys have noticed but buying back-up players isnt exactly what we do. The less injuries the better no matter what

Whats an itk guys? Im split on shola. The lad is certainly not a grafter, has a head like a 50p piece and imo has taken far too long to fulfill his potential. However, he has great touch and skill for a big man and surely no-one can argue he is now a top striker. He has learnt to use his physicality to dominate centre halfs and looks a major threat when he plays. Im also in the camp where i believe he should repay the clubs loyalty in giving him numerous contracts while he consistantly underperformed, by staying here in jan. Ok his parents are nigerian but he played for england u21s, is english and is a geordie. Sure it would be nice for him but this is serious now and we need him. If he went to acon and we were to go down it would really taint his legend status for me

to be offensive – just humour.
Proud – hope to have some good discussions in 2013 -but really you should not call fellows bloggers trolls, cocks and question whether a person is a true supporter on the basis on their knowledge of the location of the directors box, and please don’t give the impression of crowing after your info is validated. My advice (I’m not the blog police either)-ignore it, tell me to get stuffed -matter for you.

    Guys, a few things:

    1) Happy New Year!

    2) proudtobeageordie knows nothing. I don’t get why people believe him and Transfer Sage.

    3) Aspall’s Premier Cru cider is excellent.

As I raise a toast (15 year old Glenmorangie) to my fellow bloggers, Happy New Year to one and all.

Ed, keep up the good work in 2013. Let’s hope Debuchy is the first of many (well a few!) quality players to in join this window. Hope we also see more of Remy Streete and Adam Cambell.

Debuchy medical in the morning then signing and announcement in the afternoon along with a training session probably.
